WikiLeaks' founder Assange vows to fight extradition from UK to United States

I'm no fan of Assange, but this kind of extradition is worrying. As far as I know, he was not in the US when he did what he is charged with. Should he not be charged in the UK, assuming an illegal act was committed? Or do I have to follow US law while living in the UK?

I hope we drove a hard bargain on this. At the minimum, I expect a favourable trade deal with the U.S. and an undertaking from them to drop their barmy support of the EU against us with regard to our own sovereign territory.
