What?
According the headline, "Wildfire near Perth burns more homes as city remains in lockdown"
...that sounds because of the Lockdown more houses are burnt."
First, that is nonsense.
Second, the article says complete different:
“A lot of people were at home — they weren’t at school or work — so they were very fortunate to able to react quickly"
I hope people over there are safe and can get evacuate from the fire.

It's summertime Down Under. Wildfires are common in some parts there, just like they're guaranteed in California. I hope people down there stay safe and can evacuate from the fire if they need to.

Wind, underbrush not cleared and humans building where they should not. Inevitable!

They're called bushfires, not wildfires.

So, to escape Australia’s fascist, draconian COVID-19 lockdown restrictions your city has to burn to the ground.

Fire is a natural feature or a Mediterranean climate. Much of the plant life requires periodic fires to survive. Many seeds will lay in the ground dormant for years until the heat of a fire causes them to germinate. What isn't natural are homes built close to oak woodlands. The wildlands will manage themselves just fine without human intervention. Building homes too close to high fire danger areas is the problem.
