Unbelievable.

Why do he do that?

These people are sick. Probably another Covid denying conspiracy theorist.

Really glad I decided to forgo this injection.

Who knows how many times this actually happens.

Not sure what the motive of the pharmacist was, but the effect of this idiotic act is no doubt going to be emboldening people to make comments like this one and reinforcing their pre-existing anti vax positions. This will be to the further detriment of public health in the US, I really hope they throw the book at this person.

Nah, probably a liberal? Why would you even go there? This is not political (until we hear from the perp).

Criminal offence I would have thought, sabotage?

7 ( +8 / -1 )

Trump fan, doing what they can for the cause! As they all believe there is no virus anyway, so why the need for a vaccination.

Sabotage is a criminal offense as well. And I can not see how anyone would think that just because it's a vaccination that this ISNT a criminal offense!

Clearly stated in the article as well, I believe you missed it!

The individual, a resident of Grafton in the Milwaukee suburbs, was arrested on Thursday and booked into the Ozaukee County jail on felony charges of recklessly endangering safety, adulterating a prescription drug and criminal damage to property, police said.

I heard once that a chef micturated in a soup then served it.

I have since stopped visiting any restaurants or eating any form of processed food because who knows how many times this actually happens, right?

His punishment should be to give him a dose (in this case two) of his own bad medicine and then some hard time.

Vaccinations are not currently available in Japan.

I don't think he's in Japan

Of course it was removed deliberately but leaving it out was an inadvertent error.

Is that true? The article, and others I’ve seen, don’t clearly state whether keeping it left out was inadvertent, nor do they give enough info to understand why he took it out to begin with.

I’ll reserve further judgment on how pissed off I should be about this until those things are clarified.

But how did he manage to become a pharmacist?

3 ( +3 / -0 )

It didn't get out of the cool storage by itself and he said that it's spoilage was due to an inadvertent mistake. Everything else is the result of leading questions to fill a narrative that fits a forgon conclusion. It's just an employment, training and management issue. Not the crime of the century or a political act. There will be other mistakes made, are we going to hang, draw and quarter everyone else who slips up?

But how did he manage to become a pharmacist?

In the US, it is a 5-yr period spend learning at an accredited school of pharmacy. They learn chemistry, biology, all the normal language, history, govt, math that other majors learn, plus all the pharmacy-specific things. Scary how much training is required to be allowed to count 30-90 pills - that seems to be must the job, by time.

OTOH, pharmacy schools limit the number of students, just like medical schools, to keep salaries relatively high, and so transferring jobs is easy for a licensed pharmacist.

With all the extra viles, he probably needed to make space in the hospital refrigeration units. Then he was interrupted mid-task and forgot he'd left some out. That is just as likely a reason. Yes, he intentionally removed it, which is what the article above says. It doesn't say why.

Grafton police said in a statement that the pharmacist "knew the spoiled vaccinations would be useless and that people who received the vaccinations would think they had been vaccinated against the virus when in fact they were not."

He could simply have been embarrassed at his mistake and depending on who was gettng those doses, herd safety would have kicked in by June.

Or it could have been a deliberate act, which I doubt. Regardless, he's lost his job, lost his license and will probably need to move to a different city and start life over. If he's got a family, they are drastically impacted too.

@Yubaru: Trump fan, doing what they can for the cause! As they all believe there is no virus anyway, so why the need for a vaccination.

Why would a Trump fan spoil a batch of the Trump vaccine? Wasn’t it prominent Democrats who were suspicious of any vaccine developed under the bad orange man? Why yes, yes it was.

No he didn’t forget, this wasn’t the only batch, read the article.

"What? There's no space for my lunch in here. Oh well, I'll just take this stuff out and make some room . . ."

Nenglisc aspyrgend: No he didn’t forget, this wasn’t the only batch, read the article

Yes I read the article. 57 x 10 is 570 doses. These are not 1L containers. They are smaller than a shot glass. Paid by the word, this writer is?

The individual, a resident of Grafton in the Milwaukee suburbs, was arrested on Thursday and booked into the Ozaukee County jail on felony charges of recklessly endangering safety, adulterating a prescription drug and criminal damage to property, police said.

"recklessly" - I agree with all these charges. I'd want to know whether it was intentional for this outcome or accidental. The article doesn't say.

Are many people reading filling in stuff that isn't in the article?

@SandyBeachHeaven

Why do he do that?

Antivax movement is big in the US. Even 40% of US healthcare professionals say they would refuse the COVID vaccine.

40% of LA's Front-Line Workers Declined COVID Vaccine as Some County ICU's Run Out of Beds

@rainyday

Not sure what the motive of the pharmacist was

He wanted vaccinated people to catch COVID in order to discredit the vaccine. He was almost certainly an antivaxxer.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Odd profession for an anti-vaxer.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Are many people reading filling in stuff that isn't in the article?

"When initially questioned after the misplaced vials were discovered on Dec. 26, the pharmacist said it was an inadvertent error, but during further review of the matter admitted on Wednesday to intentionally removing the vaccine from refrigeration, hospital officials said."

It was a deliberate act.

Antivax movement is big in the US. Even 40% of US healthcare professionals say they would refuse the COVID vaccine.

Uh, no. If you’re going to be misleading, it’s probably a smart idea not to post an article where people can fact check you. It’s not 40%. It’s between 20 and 40%. And it’s not 40% of US healthcare professionals. It’s between 20 and 40% *of frontline healthcare workers** in Los Angeles.** It’s in the title of the article. So I can only assume you are deliberately*** attempting to misrepresent what the article said for your own purposes.

Some people just don’t deserve freedom.
