I wonder if our MAGA friends here even read the articles - with all the "it's the Dems fault" posts about this Repub clown show of chaos and disfunction...
Once more - "right-wing holdouts"...
"Message to his Republican colleagues - stop that"...
So in this whole debacle, you have MTG and her 4 Freedom Caucus cohorts voting with Pelosi and Schiff to stiff McCarthy, and McCarthy's only hope of avoiding a shutdown is for him to vote with Pelosi and Schiff...
How's that MAGA-friends - the Dems saving both your Repub heroes from each other...
ROFL...

Nice photo of the modern day Three Stooges.
The irony is Trump commanding them to shut down the government because of spending. The same guy who increased the national debt more than any administration in history.
330 million people held hostage by self-interested, child-like, egomaniac “performance theater” yahoos with no interest in governing or statesmanship.
Its enough to make you puke.
UChosePoorly
ffs GOP, get it together. Nobody benefits from a US govt shutdown except for our enemies.
plasticmonkey
These are the nutters who will shut down the government either because they're too stupid, too ideologically extreme, or too cynically attracted to media attention:
Matt Gaetz (the ultimate cynical schmuck)
Andy Biggs (nut job fascist)
Matt Rosendale (dumb as a box of rocks)
Eli Crane
Dan Bishop
Five people out of 221 happy enough to sabotage the US economy and disrupt the lives of millions. All cheered on by you-know-who down in Mar A Lago.
bass4funk
Trump is not commanding anything.
The U.S. national debt topped $33 trillion for the first time ever on Monday, crossing a critical milestone at a time when government spending is already under scrutiny.
https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/markets/us-national-debt-hits-33t-for-first-time-in-history/ar-AA1gUnRx
Biden exceeded that
Ok, so they should capitulate and give in to the Dems out of control spending and not keep their promise to their constituents? That’s the entire reason why they were chosen for this position, to stop the non-stop cascading River of out of control Dem spending.
The spending, it sure does.
bass4funk
…or spot on.
Legend
Savvy
For not wanting to waste our tax dollars?
Keep hope alive
Not cheer, but glad they’re sticking to their principles and keeping their promise to their constituents.

“absolutely hallucinating”
Superlib
The GOP is screwed.
plasticmonkey
The House GOP can't get it together. That's not the Democrats' fault. You've been told this day after day and it still doesn't sink in.
Do you even read these stories?
What part of that don't you get?
Bob Fosse
Faced with an awful reality it’s common for the brain to fool its owner into believing something else is happening. Delusional hallucinations help some people cope with how badly things have worked out for them.
plasticmonkey
I guess in your mind there are only a tiny handful of true conservatives in the GOP, and the rest are all RINOs, including My Kevin. Not only are your "savvy legends" going to shut down the government, they're going to hand the House to the Democrats in 2024. The Republicans who won in Biden and swing districts are going to be out on their butts.
TaiwanIsNotChina
Cutting spending is difficult and not suited to uneducated, no self control grievance-mongers like the Republicans. Fix those three attributes and you might have an shot at it.
lincolnman
So you're glad they voted with Pelosi, Schiff, Nadler, and Swalwell and stiffed McCarthy....now you're defending free spending like "Tony Montana Coke Addicts"...
So their constituents want them to vote with Dems...interesting view... I guess you want your Repub Rep to vote with Pelosi too...
ROFL...

Boebert just this week promised her constituents ‘levity’
“In my position, it is my responsibility to bring levity to my constituents’ lives, never gravity. Never should my actions burden those whom I represent, so I will work to only bring levity to them and try to bring as much solutions as possible.”
I’d say a government shutdown is quite a burden in those she represents. Then again in the above quote she was addressing her behaviour tugging her date in a crowded theatre, not her behaviour in Congress.
bass4funk
Then Don’t take hallucinogenics
Not in my mind, but I get your point.
I don’t see Kevin as RINO I see him trying to weave this thing, he’s definitely in a bind, but that’s the price you pay if you want to be house speaker, straddle the line.
I doubt it. And the reason for that is, people are tired of the spending, they know once they vote the Dems in, and with the obscene amount of money the Dems are just carelessly throwing out, particularly on Ukraine as the latest polls are showing, the Dems don’t have to worry about the House going back to them, now I can’t say that once the economy and things are back to normal and the average American can gleefully say, “I’m happy” that the Dems could retake the House, but now at this moment, I can’t see that happening, even if this shutdown occurs.
Doubt it.

The Trump record:
Eight continuous years of record job growth ended in Feb 2019, one year before Covid.
Trump promised 4-6% GDP increase. It never topped 3%.
Home prices went up 27%.
Murder rate went up to highest rate since 1997.
Manufacturing jobs down by 154,000.
People without health insurance increased by 3 million.
Trade deficit went up 47%, highest since 2008.
Federal debt owned by the people went up 50%.
No wall.
He accomplished nothing and will go down in history as one of the worst presidents ever.
(And he may have his bail revoked next week after posting today about Gen. Milley. If Milley is a witness in the federal trial in DC, the explicit orders to him in his pre-trial release were no public statements about witnesses or he will be held in jail until the trial.)

The best thing for America and the world would be if the U.S. government shut down PERMANENTLY. In fact, that nation, which I regret to say I am stuck being a citizen of, should be carved up into smaller nations so the people can squabble properly, with more credible threats behind it.
bass4funk
The spending is absolutely the Democrats fault.
Ditto
Do you? That’s what I would like to sincerely know.
Who’s in power? Which party? who controls the Senate?
Ah_so
The agents of chaos that followed Trump show that the GOP is not ready to be a party of governance.
Once it kicks out the neo fascist GQP members, perhaps it will become electable.

Denial of reality - it's clearly stated in the article - but they ignore it since their brains can't handle it..
Read - maybe. Comprehend - no....

Exhibit C of the fiscal probity of the Freedom Caucus/Tea party; Rep. Matt Rosendale, R-Mont..
Who voted against Biden infrastructure improvements for his home state and constituents of Montana unless money were diverted for southern border security and the Wall.

The FC is so ideologically blinded, obstructionist and beholden to the MAGA King and his diktats that they cannot even do the old-school job of a crony congressman and bring some pork-barrel back to their states.

"The national debt has risen by almost $7.8 trillion during Trump’s time in office. That’s nearly twice as much as what Americans owe on student loans, car loans, credit cards and every other type of debt other than mortgages, combined, according to data from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. It amounts to about $23,500 in new federal debt for every person in the country."
"The combination of Trump’s 2017 tax cut and the lack of any serious spending restraint helped both the deficit and the debt soar. So when the once-in-a-lifetime viral disaster slammed our country and we threw more than $3 trillion into COVID-19-related stimulus, there was no longer any margin for error."
The National Debt under Biden has increased by $3.76 trillion.

I would say engaging in public groping at a performance of "Beetlejuice" where many children were present was Boebert bringing levity to many people.

That is MAGA and the FC for you.
She is not perfect, but love the commitment and glad to have AOC working for the people.
Bob Fosse
How do you imagine bills and legislations would get passed if nobody agreed and everyone was an edgy, selfserving, attention seeking trouble maker?
Sure, have your opinions but you have a job to do. You can’t always get what you want and stomping your feet with your fingers in your ears makes one look like a stupid child.
u_s__reamer
The photo of these reprehensible Republican three with the shameless Boebert putting on their theater of the absurd is a reminder of how she and others have put pervert into the "P" of the GOP.
HonestDictator
I'm laughing at this comment. You're never "stuck" being a citizen of the US. You can renounce your US citizenship any time you like... I think the fee for legal documents is $2,350.00
No actual US citizen I know of would say what you said. Dimitryv, is that you? lol

Ah yes, anyone who isn't a fascist is a "swamp rat." Aside from being absolutely disgusting, the neofascist GQP doesn't have enough power to do anything but shutdown the government and obstruct. Cheer for that I guess, but that just shows how un-American they are.
lincolnman
Maybe Bass will answer today....
In almost every post he accuses the "Dems" of free spending like a "Tony Montana Coke Addict"....
Yet five of his MAGA heroes in the Freedom Caucus VOTED WITH THE FREE SPENDING DEMS to defeat a Repub-sponsored defense bill...
One thing Bass is very clear on - he hates Pelosi, Schiff, Nadler, Swalwell, et al, for impeaching his Ultra MAGA King - twice...
Yet his MAGA-heroes colluded with these hated Dems to stiff and humiliate their fellow Repubs - 212 who voted for the bill...
So what do you think Bass of your heroes siding with your enemies? And please, no "scroll up" or "I answered that" dodges or deflections...
Bob Fosse
The freedom caucus are fine examples of “loyal walk in lockstep Washington swamp rats”.
Thanks for the perfect colourful new title, I’ll be sure to use it.

The procedure to give up your citizenship is straightforward and not something you are stuck with.

Move over folks and watch the republican crazy train run Washington now.

The GOP has become worthless to Americans. Sad. Until the last election, I'd always voted conservative. The GOP pushed me away with their liars. I'm seeking a conservative party that doesn't lie, stays out of our bedrooms, and let's women and others chose what they want to happen in their lives.
The current GOP has been taken over by 2-yr olds who know 1 word, "no", 7 yr olds that just learned to lie about everything and religious wackos. Definitely not the party that represents me.
bass4funk
And now Biden exceeded that.
The national debt of the U.S. reached a historic milestone by passing $33 trillion for the first time, less than two weeks before the federal government faces a potential shutdown over a lack of funding authorization.
The debt, which equals the amount of money borrowed by the federal government to cover operating expenses, hit $33.04 trillion Monday, according to the Treasury Department.
Joe could have cut the spending, but then that would be like feeding a wolf carrots, ain’t gonna happen, we didn’t have to get involved in Ukraine and we didn’t have to open the border, I mean…intentionally, we have enough energy to power the nation for centuries, but they push us into buying crappy expensive EV that a vast majority can’t afford.
https://www.cnbc.com/2023/09/19/united-states-national-debt-tops-33-trillion-for-first-time.html

I already did a few years ago and that answer won’t change. Kudos.

I actually appreciate the honesty here. How is this different from what Russia and China would like to happen to the US?
lincolnman
Years? The vote was only last week. ROFL...
As expected, a clear surrender...
bass4funk
Well, Dems should know a thing or two about that from their past history.
Lol
And yet, when it comes to the Dems wanting something, their constituents push them to never give in or falter.

That’s ok, they just need to scroll back to the dates.

I think it’s the other way around
