At the least, permanently ban visitors from China.

Well, you wouldn't want tested, covid-free people crossing a border from one country that has the delta variant to another that has the delta variant, would you?

2 ( +3 / -1 )

People followed Big Pharma's promises but the virus is still here and so are the masks.

Don't worry. Since its showing that the vaccines are losing their effect over time, Big Pharma is already promising to dole out booster shots.

And then, after that, we will return to normal.....

-1 ( +6 / -7 )

What about people with allergies and sensitivities to the chemicals in vaccines and people like Haredi Jews who refuse vaccines on principle.

Why are you talking about the covid vaccine like it's the first vaccine ever made? A hundred years ago, you couldn't board a train in America without proving that you were vaccinated for smallpox. And that was perfectly fine with everybody. Because everybody knew smallpox was bad. The only difference now is that the internet has made a lot of ignorant people into self-professed experts who refuse to listen to science and reason.

Amusing, as you post information that you found on the internet.about boarding trains..

DAILY REMINDER: The Covid virus has now killed well over 620,000 U.S. citizens and infected well over 35 million more in just 16 months.

0 ( +4 / -4 )

Amusing, as you post information that you found on the internet.

Nope. It's pretty common knowledge when you know anything about History.

about boarding trains..

But are you trying to say that there wasn't a vaccine passport for smallpox active in America in the 1900's?

Japanese borders remain closed to non-citizens and non-residents but the Japanese can travel to America.

Misinformation, otherwise there would be no Olympics here.

So not non-citizens are prohibited from entering Japan :

People can apply for special exceptional circumstances.

And who defines what "Fully vaccinated" means?

The government of course. Anyone who has received a full dose of an approved vaccine is fully vaccinated. No one else is.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

I'd say that travelers who's govts can prove they are fully mRNA vaccinated AND have passed the typical covid pre-flight tests should be allowed, assuming all other aspects of their travel would be allowed.

For US citizens, any approved vaccinate inside the US should be allowed to travel between states.

Intrastate travel is up to each state to decide.

Do you advocate turning them into an apartheid like second-class citizen?

No, but they wouldn't be allowed to travel into the US or between different states until 80% of Americans are fully vaccinated. Your body. Your choice. There is no right to travel during a pandemic. There is more of a right to complain, prey, and have a firearm.

Really? I thought the government requires a certain period of time after the final shot to go by until one is considered fully vaxxed.

-6 ( +4 / -10 )

Alas, the vaccinated can still catch and spread Covid, which is why many argue they shouldn't be allowed to roam loose and infect others.

Yeah, no one ever said that. Not anyone in any position of power at least. It should have been pretty obvious from the start that asymptomatic spread is/was possible with the vaccine.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Misinformation, otherwise there would be no Olympics here.

This is just all so confusing, everything is just so out of order, no wonder skepticism in all of this continues to grow.

And what happened to that tyrannical law?

Most were upheld until the smallpox pandemic subsided. Also, smallpox vaccination was mandated by law until the 1970's, when smallpox was finally pretty much eradicated in the US.

Oh yeah, easily defeated in the courts.

In what reality? On the contrary, the Supreme Court stated at the time that a pandemic was comparable to a military invasion which the government had a duty to protect its citizens from, and therefore vaccination was like conscription. It's in in Jacobson vs. Massachusetts, feel free to check. Why would you invent something that can be so easily disproved?

5 ( +8 / -3 )

As more time passes and if things continue to get worse we will see an increase in support in segregating the unvaccinated.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

The government is bought and paid for by the multi-billion dollar Big Pharma lobby.

Nah, it's not.

Perhaps you’ve confused US history with that of another country?

It's time fully vaccinated travellers were allowed into America again.

They are if they are American, or permanent residents, or other exceptional cases.

knittyelfToday  09:51 am JST

What’s it like living in your own reality? It must be amazing to be able to simply disregard easily proven facts like that.

You can only hope.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

And who defines what "Fully vaccinated" means?

Scientists and public servants.

And what happened to that tyrannical law?

Oh yeah, easily defeated in the courts.

Just like all the "hygiene" laws instituted in Germany in 1930, eventually their evil was exposed and human freedom prevailed.

This is the fever-dream of conspiracy theorists. When you are arguing Nazi Germany, you are losing the debate. Just ask Margerie.

Let's start with some basic facts:

The vaccine works, not perfectly but quite well. It essentially turns a lethal disease into a very manageable one.

The reason that vaccinated continue to become infected is because there is still vaccine spreading to bump into. Small Pox vaccines were not 100% effective, but through mass vaccination, the virus was essentially eliminated from the environment. There was quite simply no virus to encounter.

The vaccines are safe. The FDA the world-wide gold-standard on safety says so and that is good enough for me. In fact they resisted the previous administration's pressure to pre-emptively release the vaccine authorization because they insisted on a full Phase-3 trial and analysis of the data. People saying they are experimental and not authorized just do not understand basic science. In early August when the FDA approves them for routine use, they will move on to another conspiracy.

The vaccines are abundant, available and free. I am so jealous.

Based on these facts, it is reasonable to draw some conclusions. This pandemic is being unnecessarily extended by those who in the face of facts and science stubbornly refuse to be responsible members of an integrated society. It's time to shun them. No vaccine? No boarding, no admittance, no service. Want to see a football game? Hope it's on your cable package because you are not allowed.

That is what will change minds and put an end to this pandemic.

As more time passes and if things continue to get worse we will see an increase in support in segregating the unvaccinated.

Historically, the Democrats are used to that kind of move, I really wouldn’t quibble with you on that one.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

More fun facts: If you are vaccinated and still get infected, you are much less likely to infect others.

"It's my choice." Not when your choice has the potential to harm or possibly kill others. This is why you can drink, but cannot drink and drive. This is why you can smoke, but not on an airplane. This is why if you know you are HIV positive and knowingly expose your partners without telling them or using protection, you can go to jail. Rights AND Responsibilities in an interconnected society.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

I am still amazed at people complaining about not being able to endanger others.

Regarding the legal right to enforce public health, especially during epidemics and pandemics, every state has full power to take every measure needed to end the threat. Those states that have chosen not to, are being willfully and criminally negligent.

Here is the law:

https://www.americanbar.org/news/abanews/publications/youraba/2020/youraba-april-2020/law-guides-legal-approach-to-pandemic/

Anyone who thinks they are somehow magically immune will unfortunately, and painfully, perhaps even mortally, learn otherwise. And many have already done so.

bass4funk: Historically, the Democrats are used to that kind of move, I really wouldn’t quibble with you on that one.

Oh it will cease being a red/blue thing by that point. If things keep getting worse you're going to see 1) more people finally get vaccinated and 2) support for segregating the unvaccinated. It's just logical.

Masks again? That won't be a big enough change. Neither will social distancing again. How about schools closing again? That's bigger. Or what if the Navy suddenly has trouble sending out ships and subs on missions because crewmen refuse to get vaccinated? Yeah, that will change things. What if COVID, kept alive by the anti-vaxxers, mutates and makes it impossible to have an actual, final vaccine? Game changer.

By that point most of the "freedom lovers" will have been vaccinated. My guess is you already have but just like to talk tough, so you won't have to worry. But if we get to the point where 10-20% of the population never lets this end, it starts killing millions again, and puts the world economy at risk?

Segregation time. As the percentage of unvaccinated gets smaller and smaller the rest of us will be able to restrict their impact on society, and we will. If it keeps getting worse, we will keep placing more restrictions on the unvaccinated. Slowly at first, then more severely if things keep getting worse.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

@ Burning Bush

…huge payouts after Walmart tries to block entry to people with vaccine allergies or people like Haredi Jews because of their beliefs.

Bring on the restrictions, and we'll bring on the lawyers and you'll be paying out big time for your eugenical apartheid.

I’m genuinely curious. Since you used “we” I wonder which to group you belong, the group with a vaccine allergy or the Haredi Jews?

3 ( +4 / -1 )

If they try and force more people, I doubt it.

anti-vaxxers?? People are getting it now from people that carry the virus that were vaccinated. Not going to work at least in a civil sense

My guess is you already have but just like to talk tough, so you won't have to worry. But if we get to the point where 10-20% of the population never lets this end, it starts killing millions again, and puts the world economy at risk?

In a Stalinist dream perhaps

Yeah, keep thinking that, once the government starts forcing people to take the jab and with this questionable vaccine, I can a strong revolt taking place on a mass level.

The PCR test can’t even tell the difference between COVID and flu? Yet it will still be used until the end of the year....why?

-4 ( +2 / -6 )

The PCR test can’t even tell the difference between COVID and flu? Yet it will still be used until the end of the year....why?

Actually that’s not true, the PCR test does reliably differentiate between COVID and influenza. The simple antibody test does have a some possibility however because there is a small, but real, possibility of it detecting the antibodies produced by other seasonal coronaviruses.

That’s why when someone tests positive with one of the quickie antibody tests it is confirmed with a PCR test to make sure it’s not a false positive.

1 ( +3 / -2 )

The PCR test can’t even tell the difference between COVID and flu? Yet it will still be used until the end of the year....why?

As previously answered this is false, the PCR test can easily differentiate between both pathogens, the other thing is what makes you think the PCR is only going to be used until the end of the year? did you fail to understand something published or it just came out of your imagination?

At this moment the qRT-PCR test is the gold standard of detection and there is no test that can replace it in terms of sensitivity and specificity, unless some miraculous perfect test is developed in the following months there is no chance it will stop being used next year.

Good thing that’s not what others are. despite your need to classify people who simply disagree with you as such.

Regardless, there is nothing about anti-vaxxers that places them in a protected category, that would win them any lawsuits.

Although, I fully expect this to be a 2020 election thing, where you guys file countless baseless lawsuits and get them thrown out of the courts over and over and over again.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Oh this one that was just revoked from emergency use?!

the one that has 40% failure rate?

https://www.cdc.gov/csels/dls/locs/2021/07-21-2021-lab-alert-Changes_CDC_RT-PCR_SARS-CoV-2_Testing_1.html

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

The real story Black is that the government has a microchip on all those tests they stuck in yer brain to make you vote Democrat.

And while that's insane, I'm hearing stuff like this in France right now from anti-vaxer-conspiracy theorists such as yourself....

1 ( +3 / -2 )

So in other words the PCR test was revoked and is faulty. Thanks!

wouid explain why influenza is non existent now and also how so many vaccinated people get positive COVID” tests but the type that doesn’t kill or hospitalize (otherwise called “the flu”)

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Regardless, there is nothing about anti-vaxxers that places them in a protected category, that would win them any lawsuits.

When it violates their 1st amendment rights. They’ll win all day long.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press;

Me “SAYING” NO to the jab. Again, the lawyers will have a field day with this one.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Oh this one that was just revoked from emergency use?!

the one that has 40% failure rate?

Wait, you think there is one single kind of qPCR test for COVID? there are literally hundreds of them, the CDC simply is not interested anymore in having their version on the test approved, so anybody interested in keeping the testing they will only have to choose between the dozens and dozens other varieties and brands of PCR tests to replace the one from the CDC, and by the way nowhere in your link is any mention of 40% failure rate, that is completely your idea.

So the answer was both, you failed to understand something you read and complemented it with imaginary things that are not real.

wouid explain why influenza is non existent now and also how so many vaccinated people get positive COVID” tests but the type that doesn’t kill or hospitalize (otherwise called “the flu”)

No, that is also 100% product of your imagination, COVID tests do not report influenza cases as positive, if you use a multiplex system you can detect from both in a single reaction, but even without it an influenza case would only mean it results in a negative for COVID in the PCR and another test has to be run to see if the patient have influenza or not.

Good that you posted the link here, now you will no longer have this completely mistaken idea about the tests!
