Would have thought that the serial numbers on the parts would have been the key. As others have commented and written in the media, both Boeing and Malaysian Airlines have extensive databases for tracking parts for maintenance and replacement.

Guess politics and international relationships has slowed the process down.

If you want to take the consensus of the aviation forums like A-Liners for instance, those guys seem pretty dead set that it is a flaparon from a tripple-7, and that the serial numbers match. that's if one wants to go by the opinions of plane otaku through professional aviation professionals

this really should have been updated by now....they have already announced that the debris is from MH370
