This was contradicted at the time by many more scientists that clearly demonstrated the trend was towards warming, which is why the cooling prediction never gained traction in the general scientific cmmunity.

In the scientific papers which considered climate trends of the 21st century, less than 10% were inclined towards future cooling, while most papers predicted future warming.

This has never been a real argument against the models predicting climate change being correct.

When again did records start, and how old is the world ? They might have missed a few hot days in the past...

First year since I've lived here that we got to july without using a/c. Don't believe everything you read, sky's always falling. Avoid the "news" a bit more and enjoy what you have.

I didn't deny anything. Thunberg is not a climate scientist. She is an activist and a very good one. She has alerted her generation to the problems of the climate and the environment. She isn't a hypocrite like many Hollywood stars and lives by what she believes. She has donated more than 1 million euros. Raised awareness in her generation.

Your "fact check" link doesn't refute that Thunberg actually said that.

That's because there is no refutation of it.

She DID say that.

Even your "fact check" link says so.

And it goes on to say this:

I didn't say climate change. Many of us spoke out about the environment. Like plastics in the oceans. Pollutions.

Big oil, big gas and big coal raise their glasses and jig around the boardrooms. "We did it," one cries out. "Yay! Now, let's see if we can make 18." "Let's get out our chequebooks, boys, and pull the wool over many more eyes," says another, "It's worked so far."

Didn't feel a thing. July 3rd was a warm balmy day here.

Records are being not just broken, but smashed almost on a daily basis (June average temperature, sea temperatures...)

Many of these events are relegated to regular, rather than headline news - part of the same problem - society in general is not treating the climate issue as the 'crisis' that it clearly is.

And it will keep rising..

We cannot afford capitalism anymore, or at corporate capitalism. All heat comes emissions. Thus, capitalism creates the pollution that will eventually kill millions of people--possibly all of us.

We've had it, folks. We had plenty of time to do something about it, but the people we voted for couldn't be arsed.

If you don't already have grandchildren, you're lucky in a way. If you don't already have children, don't have them.

If you have kids, tell them that you love them every day.
