Experts estimate that flying insects across Europe have declined 80 percent on average, causing bird populations to drop by more than 400 million in three decades.

There's a definition of ecological disaster, right there.

Reducing the use of pesticides or find better alternatives should be relatively easy compared to other environmental problems.

We banned substances depleting the ozone layer when a gigantic hole was discovered. We all did that together. Every single country adopted the treaty and got rid of these substances, and it worked !

We need the same thing here. A worldwide ban on products that kill insects in great numbers.
