"The motive of the attack at the Roman Catholic St. Yoseph Church in Medan, the capital of North Sumatra province, was not clear."

Sometimes the police seem to be mentally challenged!

Facts: The guy was a Muslim. He was using tactics often used by Islamic terrorists. He tried to set his bomb off and kill lots of people - Where? In a Christian Church!

Let's see! I wonder what could have motivated him to do such a thing!

OK, OK, granted there is a small outside chance it was some kind of a personal vendetta against the priest or something like that, but come on, terrorism is terrorism. It's not really all that hard to figure it out.

Well, thank goodness his bomb did not go off! And it being Indonesia, this guy's not going to get off easily, either. Hope he gets locked up in one of those infamous prisons for a while.

And the really sad part is, genuine Islam does not condone this kind of thing

Well since this is a country known for having fundamentalist Islamist groups, I'm guessing it was about unpaid restaurant bills.

You still believe that?

The big question is; What is genuine Islam? Who makes that determination?

If a group of progressive minded Muslims re-interpret the original texts to be more palatable to non-Muslims and portray a more beneficent and kinder face to Islam; are they the genuine Islam?

The Islamic State's brand of Salafist Wahabism teaches that they are following the genuine form of Islam and all other forms are false and their followers are apostates.

The really sad part is that for millions of Muslims, who deem themselves to be following the genuine Islam, this kind of thing is perfectly okay.
