So, yes, this blood is as much on Trump, if not more than anyone else's

So while they did deliberately shoot that plane down, it wasn't really their fault?

OK, if the USA had not made the first attack, they would still be alive, so I appreciate your point. Perhaps if they were on such high alert, they might have considered a commercial flight ban for the duration.

Also the Iranian regime is brutal and has no concern over using lethal force. Over two hundred protestors have been killed in recent anti-government protests.

It is hard for me to believe the Americans have solid proof. Just because trump says it does not mean it is truth.

Luckily we now have the Iranian confession as well, so you don't have to worry about the Americans. And now you know that the Americans were tight.

It is hard for me to believe the Americans have solid proof.

If ya had said it as such: "It is hard for me to believe the Americans/Canadians/British/French/Dutch/Ukraine have solid proof"

If ya think of it that way, it becomes not that hard to believe

It just seemed so fast to get solid proof. Now Iran admits to shooting down the airliner.

And what about the other 6 or 7 nations that agree? Are they lying too?

These people would be alive if it weren't for increased hostilities between the US and Iran.

That horse left the barn in 1979. Those Americans President Carter sent to rescue the embassy hostages would also be alive today along with the 600 plus US soldiers killed by Soleimani. If lightening had killed a man walking across the Baghdad airport some would try to blame Trump.

The Americans are quick to come to judgement as usual.

I think you mean the Americans, the French, the UK, Canada, the Ukraine and all the other countries that have accused Iran of shooting down the airliner are too quick to judgement? But of course, just single out America because... why not?

What conspiracy theories?

There is one that my wife and I both raised separately but haven't seen in the media. Trump's response after Iran fired its missiles at the Iraq air bases seemed unusually muted. The missiles didn't create human casualties apparently. Soleimani was by all accounts a powerful and capable military leader with ambition. Was he more of a threat to US or Iranian political leaders? Maybe both would rather he weren't around. See where I'm going?

Am I reading too many Chris Brookmyre novels?

Ah_so: "cue a vast number of conspiracy theories blaming the USA."

What conspiracy theories? While it was the Iranians may well have shot it down, if they did the plane was targeted after the US instigated what they did. So, yes, this blood is as much on Trump, if not more than anyone else's, if Iran was still reacting to Trump's unilateral and illegal (and they have not provided any evidence -- even Republicans agree) assassination of a foreign government official.

For instance, the Sun newspaper reports this morning suspicious holes perforating the tail section of the aircraft

Referencing the Sun? I'm wondering what the Iranian equivalent is saying.

Right now, whatever opinion we voice can be treated as a conspiracy theory in some context or perhaps just as nonsense. Government leaders seem quick to pass opinions, whether Iran, Canada, the UK, wherever. Can't they just wait a little longer?

Iran is repsonsible for making a mistake and this tragedy, no one else, dont try to move the blame.

Canada or truedeau needs to up the anti on iran and make them come clean and bring those who f---ked it up to take the blame and pay the price.

But lets not start WW3 becuase of some idiot who mistakenly pushed the wrong button at the wrong moment, lets all take a deep breathe sit down reflect on what just happened and maybe come to the table to work things out, coz it just isnt worth it at the end of the day, the planet will keep turning even if WW3 does go off. The planet will keep turning.

Safe as houses tho cause we all know treadeu has no balls for this stuff anyway

I would expect the US was flying planes and drones over Iran at this time. It would make sense to fly civilian routes as cover. Thought the Iranians would know if they have shot missiles at a plane and if they hit it or not.

Unless there's proof, I doubt they'd do that, specifically to prevent this exact kind of incident.

I read somewhere the flight was an hour late taking off. In 1988 when the US Navy shot down an Iranian airliner, it's delayed take-off was one of the reasons it was misidentified as a threat.

One of the first things the US Navy did when they saw it on radar was check the commercial flight schedules. Due to the delayed take off, no commercial planes were due to be in the area at that time. Of course other mistakes were made too, but the fact remains it was a contributing factor.

I hear people say its too early to point fingers. But why not??? Was this tension that let to an Iranian military personnel firing this missile necessary? Yes, a missile brought it down. Probably by mistake. Whole true cause being that Trump is jealous of the black man Obama and so wanna destroy everything that has his name on it. This is no more funny. There is human cost to it. Those of you still enabling this should be ashamed of the blood of the innocent civilians on your hands.

I hope that who ever that this tragedy belongs to has learnt from MH17, ie the truth will come out. Modern technologies makes hiding things a futile excercise.

What about Canada, with 63 of its nationals dead? IMHO, Canada ought to immediately demand the ability to inspect all of the wreckage and the crash scene -- as the Netherlands did in the Ukraine when many of its nationals died on the Malaysian airliner. I hope Canada is working even now behind the scenes on arrangements to actively participate in the investigation. It is far too soon to speculate on the cause of this crash -- but all possibilities ought to be on the table. I wouldn't trust the impartiality of the Iranian regime to objectively assess some of those possibilities. For instance, the Sun newspaper reports this morning suspicious holes perforating the tail section of the aircraft, and conjectures about the possibility that the plane might have been shot down in error by nervous Iranian air defense operators ( https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/10694922/iran-plane-crash-ukrainian-airline-black-box/ ). Canada? The ball's in your court. You owe it to your citizens to take a leading role in efforts to nail down what happened.

This plane took off just minutes from Tehran airport

Iran would never let spy planes or drones get anywhere near their capital Tehran deep inside Iranian territory - that's what spy satellites are for

There's a video that supposedly showed the moment the plane caught fire:

https://abcn.ws/2Nb6nA4

(Wonder if it's a security camera facing that direction since it's improbable somebody would just be randomly recording the night sky just where the plane was. Then again, the video also caught the plane crashing to the ground - how often does that happen particularly coming from a low altitude of 5,000 feet and the plane crashing quickly)

The impact does look like it was hit with something that's going the opposite way. Sudden fatality maybe why there was no mayday call from the pilots (they were already dead or incapacitated)

It's also strange that the crash scene was cleared too quickly of debris, before more investigators could take a look or two. Unless the crash scene needed to be cleared of debris for some other use, there's really no need to be in a hurry to clear the debris so soon.

Let's see them release the black box and see what it decrypts

Most probably it looks like the Iranians shot it down by mistake - cue a vast number of conspiracy theories blaming the USA.

Good luck. If it was a missile, they will not get to look at anything.
