Trump has to be removed from any position where he has the tiniest bit of influence over anyone outside his family. He's a 'clear and present danger to the country. This link from @expat https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/the-shared-psychosis-of-donald-trump-and-his-loyalists/

21 ( +31 / -10 )

The timing is irrelevant. There has to be consequences for what Trump did.

31 ( +40 / -9 )

@PTownsend

Dehumanization tactic.

-34 ( +6 / -40 )

Dehumanization tactic.

They’re not all rapists and murderers. Just bad hombres.

24 ( +29 / -5 )

Dehumanization tactic.

Read the article. It FULLY humanizes Trump and his followers.

16 ( +19 / -3 )

List his crimes.....

-36 ( +7 / -43 )

Twice. A new American record.

And well deserved.

26 ( +32 / -6 )

Dehumanization tactic.

That’s how they got where they are with the amount of Qanon belief amongst them.

15 ( +17 / -2 )

He wanted a second term. He got a second impeachment.

34 ( +40 / -6 )

Good.

The United States of America will never have to be subject to this man desiring to run for the presidency, ever.

28 ( +33 / -5 )

I think without social media this will be the beginning of the end for Trump.

26 ( +27 / -1 )

List his crimes.....

Read the article.....

28 ( +31 / -3 )

So all of you Democrat supporters believe Democrats have clean hands?

False equivalency. Trump's hands are filthy, that's all that matters, here.

List his crimes.....

Read much?

The president of the United States incited this insurrection, this armed rebellion against our common country.

25 ( +30 / -5 )

List his crimes

Money laundering, wire fraud, tax evasion, bank fraud, campaign finance violations, multiple counts of obstruction of justice, conspiring with a foreign power, attempting to influence an election, incitement to riot, sedition.

And that’s just the ones we know about now.

29 ( +33 / -4 )

Hey Bob, so Democrats are angels?

-43 ( +7 / -50 )

Trump is not going to be a part of American politics going forward.

Even better he very well might be going to prison.

EVEN BETTER, he’s going to go bankrupt. His brand is the marketing equivalent of Ebola.

He will have honor of dying broke, incarcerated, forgotten and unloved. And it’s no less than he deserves.

23 ( +29 / -6 )

Hey Bob, so Democrats are angels?

I think your mistake is assuming a group of people are all the same. Not a good idea.

19 ( +24 / -5 )

Impeachment is a start, now to the Senate and then criminal prosecution.

Justice will not be served till trump is behind bars!!!!

21 ( +24 / -3 )

Only 10 Republican Senators have a sense of right and wrong, and stand for Democracy.

10.

25 ( +29 / -4 )

Good riddance, Dolt 45.

25 ( +30 / -5 )

Won't happen as you'd need both sides to agree. And having both sides agreeing to something for the good of the country? That would be the day we move in the right direction.

8 ( +9 / -1 )

this impeachment not a good idea as it will only turn him into a martyr among the fanboys and girls...

-30 ( +2 / -32 )

What a waste of time Dems have been doing this kind of stunt all through Trumps term and I doubt the Rebs are going to forget it, this won't ever get through the senate before the 20th republicans will waste time so it never meets a vote even if any of them think he should be ousted. And that is how the rest of Bidens term will go anything that the dems put into the senate will never reach a vote.

-29 ( +5 / -34 )

klaus:

Even 10 Repubs!!!

Sadly, only 10 thought the events of January 6th deserved impeachment.

At least history can record who they all were now.

26 ( +27 / -1 )

this impeachment not a good idea as it will only turn him into a martyr among the fanboys and girls...

He has been playing the role of martyr everyday of his presidency regardless of the facts, every other word coming out of his mouth is him complaining about being a victim of something. He would have continued to do so with or without impeachment, so I don’t really see that as a convincing argument against impeachment itself.

22 ( +24 / -2 )

What a waste of time Dems have been doing this kind of stunt all through Trumps term and I doubt the Rebs are going to forget it

Uh, yeah what a shocking stunt. What are those Dems in congress gonna do next, whip up an angry armed mob and unleash them on the executive branch to hunt down and kill people who they disagree with?

28 ( +28 / -0 )

And that is how the rest of Bidens term will go anything that the dems put into the senate will never reach a vote.

Newsflash: the Dems will control the senate. They pulled a real tricky stunt in Georgia.

19 ( +21 / -2 )

Putin is planning to award trump with the ‘Hero of the Russian Federation’ award.

I don’t think anyone will question this award, it’s well deserved. trump did what no Soviet agent could, penetrate the highest level of American administration!!!

17 ( +20 / -3 )

I assume this will happen every time to anyone who doesn't kiss their arses. It's no surprise anyway since they've been "liberating" and toppling down leaders from the middle east.

-13 ( +4 / -17 )

Hopefully this will go through this time. I read that McConnell has had enough of Trump and that Republicans there are turning on Trump. Finally! I just want to see him go without his benefits after his term is over. His wall is crumbling as well with some of his business partners turning Trump, too.

12 ( +14 / -2 )

@PTownsend

Dehumanization tactic.

Trump isn't even a human being. He has no soul.

GdTokyoToday  07:47 am JST

List his crimes

Money laundering, wire fraud, tax evasion, bank fraud, campaign finance violations, multiple counts of obstruction of justice, conspiring with a foreign power, attempting to influence an election, incitement to riot, sedition.

And that’s just the ones we know about now.

Abducting children from families and placing them in concentration camps, illegal detention, mistreatment of detainees, treason, giving military secrets to a foreign power, misinformation, rape, incest, personal threats, encouraging violence, stealing, misappropriation of federal funds, dereliction of duties (esp. the pandemic), sociopathy, being a public nuisance, disorderly conduct, ill-mannered undiplomatic behavior, fascist ideology, personality cult. Any more crimes here to list?

11 ( +15 / -4 )

It's no surprise anyway since they've been "liberating" and toppling down leaders from the middle east.

If you're implying democrats are known for starting wars in the middle-east, you really and urgently need some history lessons.

15 ( +17 / -2 )

Ten Republicans voted to impeach, including Liz Cheney, the No. 3 House Republican.

What is despicable is that only 10 Republicans had the stones to do the right thing. When history books are written in 100 years, they will tell of the collapse of the Republican ideal.

No American president ever deserved impeachment more. And in this case, I think he deserved it even more the second time around.

Republicans, we see that the oath to the Constitution means nothing to you. You wanted to impeach Bill Clinton for fibbing about his infidelity but then turn around and let insurrection warrant a censure? Give us a break!

19 ( +21 / -2 )

Here in the States we are all looking forward to New York State to pursue its investigations.

19 ( +21 / -2 )

trump the one-term president by the numbers:

of times he had 50% approval - 0

Tweets sent - 25,000

Number of lies in 1,386 days - 29,508

Number of days spent at a trump owned property - ~340

Covid deaths 382,682

Impeachments - 2

Worst US president ever! LOL!

24 ( +28 / -4 )

Trump wanted his name to go down in history and he just got his wish.

18 ( +21 / -3 )

The only president of the US to be impeached twice! Too much winning. I bet he's sick of winning.

15 ( +19 / -4 )

List his crimes.....

Welcome back to Earth. A lot has happened in the years you've been away.

13 ( +16 / -3 )

All designed to distract us and keep Americans on edge. Enjoy the BS show.

-21 ( +2 / -23 )

Wants to know which airport will be named Trump.

Gitmo. Very briefly. Just for him.

House impeaches Trump after U.S. Capitol siege; his fate in Senate hands

Refreshing to see the corporate Congressional establishment reveal their fear. Warning to anyone who isn’t part of the mafioso, if you run, we will do everything we can to destroy you.

-16 ( +4 / -20 )

If you're implying democrats are known for starting wars in the middle-east, you really and urgently need some history lessons.

The Korean War began and was fought under a Democrat. It was ended by a Republican.

The Vietnam War began under one Democrat, escalated and spread beyond Vietnam under his Democratic successor, and then under a Republican. It was ended by another Republican.

It took a Republican Dwight Eisenhower to warn Americans of the corrupting power of the military-industrial complex. And it was a Democrat Bill Clinton who bombed Belgrade TV, designating journalists "legitimate targets".

Democrats and Republicans are a part of the same war party.

-12 ( +7 / -19 )

following a deadly assault on American democracy,

Ha ha ha

The panic in the MSM is even more refreshing.

-16 ( +5 / -21 )

Just watch how the government and the people turn on Biden when his moderate agenda insults the people that voted him in.

-19 ( +4 / -23 )

Refreshing to see the corporate Congressional establishment reveal their fear. Warning to anyone who isn’t part of the mafioso, if you run, we will do everything we can to destroy you.

Donald Trump literally pals around with mobsters.

16 ( +21 / -5 )

I think in time the world will discover there were legislators in that very same chamber directly involved in planning and facilitating that insurrection. The rioters got off elevators and went straight to specific offices that are unmarked and off the beaten path, offices of specific Democratic members of Congress such as James Clyburn and the office of the Parliamentarian for example. At least one member of Congress, a former US Navy helicopter pilot and former Federal Prosecutor, claims specific members of the lower house were leading groups through the building on personal tours, people who would storm the building the next day. The Republican party is going to have to answer for a lot more than one obnoxious soon to be former President.

Oh, and what is with Lindsey Graham defending Donald Trump against the impeachment? I thought he was done with him?

13 ( +17 / -4 )

the people turn on Biden when his moderate agenda insults the people that voted him in

If the majority of "the people" didn't want a moderate agenda, they wouldn't have chosen Biden in the primary. So why would they turn on him for doing what they elected him to do?

From Sven Henrich Northman Trader tweet

655 people have $4 trillion in wealth.

200 million can't cover a $1000 expense.

Bringing backs jobs was a valid idea, though highly unlikely when the Dem house is controlled by corporations and Wall Street.

just a reminder, Congressional approval rates haven’t been above 20% since 2009.

-18 ( +5 / -23 )

The end of this national four year nightmare will soon come to its humiliating conclusion...

Trump, now impeached twice, a fact this will always be asterisked next to his name...

Tossed out - to await a series of indictments for tax and insurance fraud, his businesses in crisis as both banks and customers flee, his reputation forever stained...

And what everyone knew in 2016....the Republican Party self-imploding and tearing itself apart....

Add in the over 340K Americans killed due to his incompetence, and that's some Legacy...

9 ( +14 / -5 )

When the Republicans failed to do their patriotic duty to convict after the first impeachment, my immediate first thought was the Dems would have to impeach him again because you never need to give DJT much rope and another opportunity would soon present itself as sure as the sun rises: the "perfect" phone call was soon to be followed by the "totally appropriate" (?) speech (inciting and instigating insurrection!) Now that the Dems have re-baked the impeachment cake the Republicans will again be called upon to put the icing on it, but this time for good measure they shouldn't forget to put the cherry on the cake in the form of the 14th Amendment designed to bar from public office renegade Confederate insurrrectionists who tried to violently tear apart the union.

10 ( +13 / -3 )

Well, now DT can truly be correct when he says he's done things no other president has done.

12 ( +17 / -5 )

Add in the over 340K Americans killed due to his incompetence

If he single-handedly killed 340K, shouldn't every single death of every single person around the World be blamed on their country's president/leaders? Even MSM covered China's lying about the severity of the virus and silencing doctors who wanted to warn everyone.

-14 ( +6 / -20 )

when the Dem house is controlled by corporations and Wall Street.

After decades of policies based on fraudulous trickle-down economics, tax breaks for the richest people only and Citizens United, it's mind-boggling to still see people somehow accusing the democrats of being controlled by "Wall Street and corporations". Some people live in bizarro world, apparently.

10 ( +16 / -6 )

Some people live in bizarro world, apparently.

Wall Street has become a big source of campaign cash for the party. The second biggest Democratic donor is a hedge fund guy, too. He's Donald Sussman of Paloma Partners. In this election, people who work in finance have given $57 million to Biden and just $13 million to Trump.

-9 ( +6 / -15 )

Trump's closest allies, such as Ohio Republican Jim Jordan, went further, accusing Democrats of recklessly acting out of pure political interest. "This is about getting the president of the United States," said Jordan, who received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from Trump in a private White House ceremony this week. "It's always been about getting the president, no matter what. It's an obsession."

Ten Republicans voted to impeach, including Liz Cheney, the No. 3 House Republican. "I am not choosing a side, I'm choosing truth," Republican Jamie Herrera Beutler said in announcing her support for impeachment, drawing applause from Democrats. "It's the only way to defeat fear."

And there it is - laid bare. The self-implosion of the Republican Party. Will it go back to be the Party of Reagan or will it continue its path from 2016 to morph into a cult composed of Trump worshippers, white supremacists, and QAnon kooks...

It appears the adults have the upper hand - McConnell has realized Trump is more of a liability than an asset, and is ready to try to purge him from the party. But the cultists won't go easy - and as we saw last week, will use violence to support their cause - just like all cults.

11 ( +13 / -2 )

Full impeachment ensures that the unhinged fat guy does not receive a presidential pension for the rest of his life as well as a LOT of other perks as well as the inability to run for office again. Throw him out now, along with all the diapers, milk formula and toys.

9 ( +14 / -5 )

The panic in the MSM is even more refreshing.

Did you see the panic in the officer's eyes as he was being crushed in the doors?

The Camp Auschwitz supporter, amongst all the other headbangers?

Was that refreshing enough for Trump supporters, I wonder?

Good riddance to 45.

13 ( +16 / -3 )

655 people have $4 trillion in wealth.

200 million can't cover a $1000 expense.

Bringing backs jobs was a valid idea, though highly unlikely when the Dem house is controlled by corporations and Wall Street.

No, this is an argument for socialism. Republicans have long championed lower taxes for the rich, weaker union powers, and the destruction of social safety nets that allowed this to happen.

just a reminder, Congressional approval rates haven’t been above 20% since 2009.

This is untrue — and as I mentioned yesterday, it's not as significant a statistic as you think it is.

The allies lost the peace after WW1 because they were vindictive.

The US won the peace after WW2 because the allies were not vindictive.

The US lost the peace after the Iraq war because it was vindictive.

If a nut attacks you in a bar and you defeat him and kick him in the head for good measure, you have just made an enemy for life, but if after you defeat him you pick him up and buy him a beer you will have made a friend for life.

Democrats might want to note that kicking Trump supporters after they have been defeated is not a winning strategy.

-15 ( +5 / -20 )

Wall Street has become a big source of campaign cash for the party.

Only one party has members actively pushing for the repeal of "Citizens United", and it's not the republican.

Usual culprits still making excuses and trying to deflect from getting played like suckers.

8 ( +14 / -6 )

Democrats might want to note that kicking Trump supporters after they have been defeated is not a winning strategy.

Because trying to invade the Capitol and (at best) take elected officials hostage to overturn your group's defeat was a winning strategy?

When has the party of "law and order" suddenly become so lenient with criminals and terrorists?

14 ( +17 / -3 )

They are trying to impeach Trump because he said:

“I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.”

They are getting desperate.

The good thing about this impeachment attempt is that the swamp creatures are exposing themselves....

-15 ( +5 / -20 )

If a nut attacks you in a bar and you defeat him and kick him in the head for good measure, you have just made an enemy for life, but if after you defeat him you pick him up and buy him a beer you will have made a friend for life

In this case the nut has quite a few other nuts in tow who are convinced he didn’t lose the fight and want to smash the bar up. They don’t come across as too reasonable. Nazi slogans should be a dead giveaway.

This does complicate matters.

12 ( +14 / -2 )

It looks like @proxy needs a history lesson:

hitler attempted a coup in 1923. He failed.

He was convicted but pardoned after less than a year in jail for the sake of "unity".

He went right back to building the nazi party and seized complete control of the government by 1933.

The only vindictive person in WW 1&2 was hitler.

Look around. Do not fool yourself into thinking it could not happen here with trump the man-baby!

They should keep kicking him and his terrorist followers until they stay down for good!

Wouldn't you do the same to the 9/11 terrorists as an American (hypothetically)?

10 ( +14 / -4 )

Add in the over 340K Americans killed due to his incompetence

If he single-handedly killed 340K, shouldn't every single death of every single person around the World be blamed on their country's president/leaders?

Single-handedly? OK, if you say so...

Show me another leader that said of the virus; "this is the flu", it's just "one person from China", and that wearing a mask was "a symbol of slavery"...

@NOMINATION

Usual culprits don't answer questions, just slander.

Good to see you are calling out your fellow trump supporters!

9 ( +11 / -2 )

And there it is - laid bare. The self-implosion of the Republican Party. Will it go back to be the Party of Reagan

This is what you call the "Party of Reagan". He nurtured the same racist elements in the Republican Party Donald Trump has nurtured. Reagan's dog whistles were a bit more subtle and he was a bit classier all around but trading on the white bigotries against of minorities and foreigners, playing on their insecurities and nurturing fear was the currency of Republican politics under Ronald Reagan. George W. Bush and now Donald Trump are the natural progression when you court that crowd.

13 ( +14 / -1 )

That'll teach you guys for electing a non-establishment, non-swamp creature who hasn't been paid off by special interests as president.

-15 ( +2 / -17 )

Democrats might want to note that kicking Trump supporters after they have been defeated is not a winning strategy.

What we saw on January 6th didn't look like the Republicans were licking their wounds from defeat. It looked like they were on the warpath to me.

15 ( +15 / -0 )

Democrats might want to note that kicking Trump supporters after they have been defeated is not a winning strategy.

I suspect the real strategy is to so alienate and marginalize the 74 million that it might prompt a couple of them to commit an act of genuine domestic terrorism, after which they can pass sweeping and draconian security laws that build on those passed after 9/11. In fact, I would almost bet money on it at this point. The US is done for, either way.

-14 ( +2 / -16 )

No, this is an argument for socialism. Republicans have long championed lower taxes for the rich, weaker union powers, and the destruction of social safety nets that allowed this to happen.

Do you know who Adam Smith is? He is one of the founding intellects behind competitive market capitalism. He wrote a famous book published in 1775, long before the births of Marx or Engels, called "An Inquiry Into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations". Most people only know it by the last four words in the title. Inside he has his "Four Maxims of Taxation" The First Maxim of Taxation reads:

"The subjects of every state ought to contribute towards the support of the government, as nearly as possible, in proportion to their respective abilities; that is, in proportion to the revenue which they respectively enjoy under the protection of the state.

The expense of government to the individuals of a great nation is like the expense of management to the joint tenants of a great estate, who are all obliged to contribute in proportion to their respective interests in the estate. In the observation or neglect of this maxim consists what is called the equality or inequality of taxation."

In short, the wealthy should pay more in taxes than the poor because they must pay for the armies, police and courts that protect their great wealth.

Smith also wrote:

"What improves the circumstances of the greater part can never be regarded as an inconveniency to the whole. No society can surely be flourishing and happy, of which the far greater part of the members are poor and miserable."

12 ( +12 / -0 )

When has the party of "law and order" suddenly become so lenient with criminals and terrorists?

Watch them scream when a few Republican members of congress are handed indictments by the Grand Jury convened to prosecute the insurrection.

11 ( +11 / -0 )

If a nut attacks you in a bar and you defeat him and kick him in the head for good measure, you have just made an enemy for life, but if after you defeat him you pick him up and buy him a beer you will have made a friend for life.

Speak for yourself. I call the police and file charges. But then I don't hang out in bars either. Something about being a parent and having responsibilities .............

12 ( +12 / -0 )

I suspect the real strategy is to so alienate and marginalize the 74 million that it might prompt a couple of them to commit an act of genuine domestic terrorism, after which they can pass sweeping and draconian security laws that build on those passed after 9/11.

You suspect wrong, because 74 million people did not participate in the attempted violent coup at the Capitol. In fact, seing that Trump's approval numbers plummeted after that event, we can conclude that most of those 74 million people are as appalled as we all are by what has happened, and do not support it.

So impeaching the president for inciting a riot and putting the rioters in jail will absolutely not "alienate and marginalize" millions of people.

10 ( +11 / -1 )

I suspect the real strategy is to so alienate and marginalize the 74 million that it might prompt a couple of them to commit an act of genuine domestic terrorism, after which they can pass sweeping and draconian security laws that build on those passed after 9/11. In fact, I would almost bet money on it at this point. The US is done for, either way.

Why would the 74 million allow themselves to take it to this point? Honestly, they could face the facts that Trump is just a sore loser and accept defeat... but it seems if there is anything going on like you suggest, then they are absolutely in on it.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

.....because of and during the Republican Bush Administration.

Didn't trump want to remove all forms of free speech that openly criticized him?

Wasn't the trump administration separating children, found to be performing sterilizing procedures on mothers in lockup and guards raping women and children waiting to be deported?

Sound like some the activities that went on in Nazi camps.

There is no surprise that he got impeached a second time!

11 ( +12 / -1 )

Glad to see the impreachment process being treated so seriously and with the dignity it deserves. After all, rushed justice really isn't justice at all, is it? And besides, these days there isn't anything else for Congress to do, with the world being so peaceful and safe and all...

In all honesty, I am surprised at how much the left fears Trump. They are treating him as if he were some form of political Dracula, eagerly looking for the magic stake to drive through his heart. Sorry to disappoint, but after the inauguration of the new President (and good luck to him), Trump will go to Florida. He will play golf, write a book, maybe get back into the media sphere in some way.

I only hope the media maintains its eagle eye watch on the new administration as they have with this one. Let's have a Biden lie count to start.

-15 ( +2 / -17 )

In all honesty, I am surprised at how much the left fears Trump

Not just the left. If you look at videos of the deadly - deadly - assault on the capitol, you might see why American people across the spectrum fear Trump. How do you think people in your country would respond to a violent assault by an armed mob on your capitol?

10 ( +11 / -1 )

In all honesty, I am surprised at how much the left fears Trump.

If the president incited hundreds of armed supporters to invade and loot your own house in order to overturn the results election you won fairly by all accounts and judicial proceedings, tell us, what exactly would you do?

10 ( +12 / -2 )

Glad to see the impreachment process being treated so seriously and with the dignity it deserves.

Stormy Daniels agrees with you...

After all, rushed justice really isn't justice at all, is it?

Hmmmm..... "Lock Her Up".....

In all honesty, I am surprised at how much the left fears Trump. They are treating him as if he were some form of political Dracula, eagerly looking for the magic stake to drive through his heart.

Dang straight, all those leftists like Liz Cheney and McConnell...

Sorry to disappoint, but after the inauguration of the new President (and good luck to him), Trump will go to Florida. He will play golf, write a book, maybe get back into the media sphere in some way.

Write a book? Maybe... Play golf and get back into the media? Doubt the Warden at Rikers Island would allow that...

13 ( +13 / -0 )

Do you know who Adam Smith is?

Yes.

He is one of the founding intellects behind competitive market capitalism. He wrote a famous book published in 1775, long before the births of Marx or Engels, called "An Inquiry Into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations".

I'm well aware.

This does not address what I said about the agenda of the Republican party, which is fiercely pro-corporate and anti-worker, nor does it address the contradiction I was implying between GOP supporters who know, four decades too late, are suddenly concerned about corporate power.

Smith also wrote:

"What improves the circumstances of the greater part can never be regarded as an inconveniency to the whole. No society can surely be flourishing and happy, of which the far greater part of the members are poor and miserable."

Capitalism, as one may glean from its name, does not put human happiness (or indeed, human beings) at the centre of its objectives. The goal of capitalism is to increase capital, with the capitalist as its avatar. This is why, over the summer, you saw elected GOP officials and commentators advocating that people die from Covid-19, rather than let capital accumulation be interrupted.

You might say that capitalism can be reformed, through higher regulations, higher taxes on the rich, stronger social security nets, and stronger workers' associations, like unions (all things that the GOP opposes). I would agree that this would be more desirable than what we currently have. However, we have already tried that. The US had a highly regulated form of capitalism during the 40s, 50s, 60s, and a good part of the 70s. And the power of accumulated capital overcame all of this, and led, inevitably, to the situation we face today.

Capitalism cannot provide for human happiness or a harmonious society, because it is not designed to. We need to move beyond it.

His fate is in the Senates hands again. He will be out of office even if they convict him.

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

Although a call for reason will fall on deaf ears, as it did in the House, I call for reason and logic.

I have said it before but I am not American nor have or want to live in the USA.

I long derided the intervensionism and meddling og USA in foreign nations affairs, albeit their military might does have put an end to alleged criminal dictators, although the legality of it is always fuzzy.

As with any other president I listened and watched President Trump for afar, and time and time again adhere to his word and convictions and plan and deliver what he promised and seeing the IRRATIONAL, BIASED, BIGOTED reactions of the mass media, and oppositors.

So, to the issue at hand.

First of all, he did not call for insurrection, riots and the taking of the house by his supporters. Even if you overthink his speech as incendiary, which is not, he was just telling people to protest, as the left continuously and tirelessly does with their antifa and BLM mobs, and more importantly it SERVES HIM no purpose if he actually had wanted or incited that to happen, it led to nothing, it would have lead to nothing, and it has lead to this now. So it would have been completly assine to ask a bunch of followers to cause chaos in the counting of the votes, WHILE being counted, when it is the time where senators and representatives whe going to protest those ellectoral votes!! It is precisely for this that Trump asked people to show up an protest, to PRESSURE the senators and represenatives to NOT ratify the result. The chaos that unfolded actually served for the exact OPPOSITE purpose and senators and representatives felt more strongly to ratify the election. THEREFORE it is idiotic to think that this is what he wanted and incited. He just asked for people to show up and make their inconformity heard. THAT´s ALL.

Now, the inconformity is REAL. The might not be a smoking gun being found, but there was and is enough smoke to have clear suspicion that the election was rigged. You can dismissed them without a care, as you have and would, but that is just caprice and bias. There is video evidence, dead people's names, more ballots than registered voters, question ridden machines, etc... does that amount to some 6 million votes or so that are the alleged difference?? that's ultimately the question and the issue that the doubters would have liked SOLVED, not just IGNORED.

And finally spare the holier that thou attitude. Speaker Pelosi and her commarades tweeting and speakinf endelssly of rigged and hijaked elections in 2016, Clinton saying to Biden to not concede under ANY circumstances even before the election, the downpalying of destructive, violent riots and mobs in Portland, Minnesota, Kenosha, etc... but now now. Pelosi applauding the storming of the Hong Kong Capitol by protesters... what double-standard baziness and charlatanery.

The reality is, YOU, with the bigotry, knee-jerk reactions, the bullyng, the bias, the cancelling, have DIVIDED the country, ostricizing half of it, and there is legitimate reason for that half of the country to feel rage and fight back at you. But contrary to you, they were not incited by their leader. Certainly video and photographic evidence shows some supporters partcipated in the trashing but also some BLM and antifa, and don't come saying is not true, there is evidence. The police did open the barricades, and security experts have come forward to say it is unthinkable for such security breach to happen, and have put serious doubts on what kind of security was in place.

What you should be striving for is the TRUTH in all issues that remain. Only the truth will unite the country again. Truth with COMPLETE UNEDITED evidence, for the election issues, for the Biden Ukraine-China corruption, for the Capitol attack, etc. Clear, open truth.

What's the bet the Dems go after the 2nd Amendment in the near future? They're kicking the hornet's nest right now. I hope Trump's supporters don't resort to violence, but they're well within their right to self-defence if the Dems use government power and power by proxy of their friends in Big Tech try to silence them or shut them out of society and punish them for having supported Trump.

-12 ( +3 / -15 )

Republicans seek unity - they should seek it by impeaching Trump. If they don't, they are just continuing their policies of running rampant and avoiding any responsibility, that they've been doing since 9/11.

If they don't seek that unity, they are disenfranchising not only the 81 million Americans that voted for Trump, but also the millions that voted for Trump in November, then seeing how he turned to insurrection, are horrified at making that mistake.

5 ( +10 / -5 )

but they're well within their right to self-defence

I'm assuming that's an opinion. If stating it as a fact, kindly provide a source. Or are you confusing what's legally permissible in your country with what's allowed in the US.

Yes he provably did.

No, it provably isn't.

No need to debate anything else.

has hardly any mention in the elite controlled left msm narrative.

I read a range of news sources, including right wing, and though the hugeness of the impeachment is today's biggest story still read - today - lots about the virus and the damage it's doing.

Bernard Grofman, a political scientist at the University of California, Irvine, put it this way in an email:

“white less well-educated voters didn’t desert the Democratic Party, the Democratic Party deserted them.”

Nice article but again very subtly omits the nation wide looting, burning, rioting in the last 6-7 months and only mentions the violence on the hill.. the subterfuge is almost perfect.. but given four years of this narrative..now easily decipherable.

Could you clarify this? It seems as though you are saying that insurrectionists and conspiracy theorists should be allowed to shoot people to death if they are banned from Twitter. But I'm sure that's not what you're saying.

They're well within their moral right. I don't know the exact laws for the US, though. But the way many Dems are talking at the moment, they want Trump supporters to be socially punished just for supporting Trump. That's hardly promoting unity, is it? It's asking for trouble, perhaps even provoking it.

-11 ( +2 / -13 )

List his crimes.....

Interesting, Obama bombed 7 countries. Trump definitely lost that one.

50% Americans love the weirdo, so Clinton Inc should also impeach all of them too.

-14 ( +2 / -16 )

What's the bet the Dems go after the 2nd Amendment in the near future?

There's no chance of that happening. Unfortunately, the second amendement is only being attacked in the right-wing's addled imaginations and conspiracy theories. I wish democrats had the courage to actually actively repeal it and enact sensible gun laws like in any other developed democratic country, unfortunately that day will never happen, because the gun lobby is more powerful than any other lobby is (supposed "big tech" included).

11 ( +13 / -2 )

But the way many Dems are talking at the moment, they want Trump supporters to be socially punished just for supporting Trump.

Please give some references of elected democrats calling for "Trump supporters" in general to be punished. Otherwise this is just a lie.

12 ( +14 / -2 )

Well the left did exactly the same

No, it didn't. The left never called for people to march on "homes and businesses". The left never called for "trial by combat" in order to impose their views. That never happened in reality.

While all the other countries with surging Corona infections are all but focused on fighting Corona..the US with world record corona infections and deaths and increasing daily.. has hardly any mention in the elite controlled left msm narrative.. i.e. we will only report what suits our narrative..

So....instead of focusing on the insurrection and home-grown terrorism incited by the current US president and his followers to overthrow a democratically elected incoming president which they killed one police officer in the process.

Would you like the media to focus on the incompetence of the current US president, who was directly involved in the insurrection, in fighting the pandemic that has killed 380,000+ Americans?

Nice try with the distraction!

It is almost as good as trump trying to deflect the media from his 2nd impeachment by going to the US border!

10 ( +11 / -1 )

@mrtinjp

Well the left did exactly the same to homes and businesses country wide in the last 6-7 months..so by the same logic, all the senators flaming this looting, arson. riots should be expelled from Congress..right..If that happens than you have a point on this impeachment.

Only the Right killed a police officer and attempt to overthrow a democratically elected president!

There is no surprise that trump was impeached a second time!

That's quite a leap. Of course I wasn't saying that.

What I am saying is that if the Dems and their fellow travellers stifle free speech, freedom of association and movement (remember, there was someone who said the other day that Trump supporters who protested in Washington should be put on a no-fly list), what comes next? If the Dems get confident/arrogant enough start throwing their weight around physically, they're going to run into some serious opposition. The Dems have been anti-2nd Amendment for years, and they'd love an excuse to overturn it by claiming that its a protection for terrorists or something similar. Remember that the media are starting to label Trump supporters who attended the protest as terrorists. This is getting very nasty very fast.

trump has never received 50% popularity in his time as president. He also never won the popular vote in both elections. trump is responsible for the deaths of 380,000+ Americans. That is more deaths than the last couple of "really big wars" including conflicts!

I wish they were, but they aren't.

and they'd love an excuse to overturn it by claiming that its a protection for terrorists or something similar.

Only in silly conspiracy theories, not in real life.

Remember that the media are starting to label Trump supporters who attended the protest as terrorists.

No, the rioters who stormed the Capitol have been labeled as terrorists. There's a big difference, but a lot of Trump supporters seems to forget it (on purpose).

Trump wanted to stop flights from China into the US in the early days, but the Dems labelled him as racist. Remember Pelosi out there virtue-signalling it up in Chinatown?

And it's been the Democrat-controlled states where the virus toll has been worst. You know, like New York, Illinois and California.

-14 ( +2 / -16 )

Some have alleged that Trump did not deliberately incite the mob or use incendiary language. I would be interested to hear what their interpretation of this kind of stuff is:

Trump ... told his supporters to "stop the steal," "show strength," "fight much harder" and use "very different rules" and promised to go with them to the Capitol, although he did not.

"If you don't fight like hell, you're not going to have a country anymore," Trump told his supporters.

When even previously loyal Republican legislators are condemning this I wonder how anyone else can continue to excuse it.

7 ( +9 / -2 )

...people who work in finance have given $57 million to Biden and just $13 million to Trump.

Well, I wouldn't give either a cent, but everybody knows the Democratic Party is one pillar of the duopoly, the "Donkey" hitched to the Republican "Elephant" that to paraphrase a famous quote comprises "the executive of the modern state which is nothing but a committee for managing the common affairs of the whole plutocratic ruling class." Trump, the narcissistic lone grifter, was never a clubbable fellow and by violating every unspoken norm of the establishment and exposing their corruption and venality as well as his own is now being given the bum's rush from the WH which will certainly spell speedy doom for his brand and bizness empire built on the shaky foundations of smoke and mirrors, debt and malfeasance. The twice impeached Trump will now for the first time in his life have to face doing the time for the crime. Whatever form his future punishment takes, it's certain that the Trumps will not live happily ever after if justice is more than just a word.

No, it didn't. The left never called for people to march on "homes and businesses".

So the the last 6-7 months...

Same old off-topic deflection. How do you think Trump would get on with these "but the left..." arguments in an impeachment trial if he had a completely impartial jury?

5 ( +6 / -1 )

@mrtinjp

So the the last 6-7 months of looting, arson and rioting never happened.. perfect, already sweeping under.. see that never happened.

One set of mostly peaceful protests that was confirmed by the trump government was infiltrated by anarchists and White supremacists to start a race war! The purpose of the protests were to bring attention to the unnecessary death of POC in police custody after being wrongfully accused of committing a crime. Once again, a boogalo boy was charged with killing a cop during the protests, and a trump supporting teenager killed two with an illegal firearm.

The other protest was an attempt by a sitting president to overthrow another democratically elected president because the world recognizes him as a big LOSER and US's worst president ever!

The world has been laughing at him since November, and he fears going to jail for past crimes!

How about the time Trump himself called an election official to try to force him to find another 11,000 odd Trump votes.

It was pathetic to see the GOP house member, except the brave 10, spout lies one after another.

Remember Pelosi out there virtue-signalling it up in Chinatown?

A very big proportion of Ms. Pelosi's constituency is Asian American, mostly second and third generation Chinese American. Many have business ties to China. It's not what you call "virtue signaling". Get enough of them mad at you and you are out of office. You will shake your head but many in her district consider her to be maybe too conservative. It's a tough balancing act to represent her district.

But after telling the crowd he would be right behind them, he peeled off for the White House to watch it all on TV.

Can I be the one to look him in the eye, point, and say YOU'RE FIRED!!! ? Can I? Can I? Please? I wanna say it! But, I suspect that honor will be given to Speaker Pelosi and I am jealous of the joy she will feel as she says it, probably with that snarky smile she shows sometimes. May this be the end of this particular episode of 'interesting times'. Stay tuned for the continuing series "Who will catch Covid and Die" brought to you by the GOP and the highly entertaining "Deplorables". Watch as they stumble their way through life guided by liars and psychopaths. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Anti-Americanism at its best!" Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Supreme Leader of Iran.

Examples need to be made to warn future presidential candidates of what would happen if someone else tried to pull the same rubbish he did! Think of all the wrong and hurtful things he said and did during his time! Lock him up and let Nancy Pelosi hold on to the key for "safe keeping"!

9 ( +9 / -0 )

That's quite a leap. Of course I wasn't saying that.

Thank goodness. I was sure you weren't.

What I am saying is that if the Dems and their fellow travellers stifle free speech, freedom of association and movement (remember, there was someone who said the other day that Trump supporters who protested in Washington should be put on a no-fly list), what comes next?

I don't know who "someone" is. Could you be more specific?

Everyone who stormed the Capitol should be on a no-fly list. They attempted an overthrow of US democracy and are a danger to themselves, others, and the republic.

If the Dems get confident/arrogant enough start throwing their weight around physically

What does this mean? It's Republicans who, after being soundly defeated at the ballot, physically tried to overthrow democracy.

The Dems have been anti-2nd Amendment for years, and they'd love an excuse to overturn it by claiming that its a protection for terrorists or something similar.

This isn't true. Firstly, a new amendment to the constitution to get rid of the second amendment would be a years long, herculean effort that would require the co-operation of a number of Republican senators and state governments. Secondly, if that weren't the case, and the Democrats had been anti-second amendment for years, why didn't they get rid of it in 2009, when they had total and utter control of the White House, House of Representatives and Senate?

Remember that the media are starting to label Trump supporters who attended the protest as terrorists. This is getting very nasty very fast.

People who stormed the US Capitol in an attempt to overturn the results of a free and fair election, resulting in the death of a policeman, are domestic terrorists, by any definition.

8 ( +10 / -2 )

But after telling the crowd he would be right behind them, he peeled off for the White House to watch it all on TV.

Remember after one of the mass murders he told the crowd (governors?) that he would have chased after the shooter who had used an automatic weapon to murder people? Trump made a finger gun and said 'boom boom'.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

n this election, people who work in finance have given $57 million to Biden and just $13 million to Trump.

Maybe it’s because they recognized that Trump is a moron who doesn’t understand trade, finance, economics or anything else?

As for “Gym” Jordan and his calls for unity: A) I see he finally learned how to clip on a tie and buy a jacket at Men’s Warehouse..... B) The will be healing and unity when those that incited and executed a seditious insurrection against a co-equal branch of government in order to change the results of a free and fair election are held to account.

That includes the members of the House and the Senate who voted to challenge the verified results AFTER a mob ran riot.

Not to put too fine a point in it, but that would include one Gym Jordan....

It's Republicans who, after being soundly defeated at the ballot, physically tried to overthrow democracy.

I don't know about Republicans in general but Furthermore anyone could have seen it coming years ago - didn't they say in 2016 that they would be camping outside the White House with their guns if Hillary Clinton won?

7 ( +10 / -3 )

Ah, the big lie......

There was widespread voter fraud aided and abetted by literally thousands of poll workers of both parties, in multiple states, all under the noses of both GOP poll watchers and video cameras AND they all kept their moths shut!

The magically hacked voting machines that were not hooked up to a modem.

ALL THE affidavits that were never submitted in court! The 60+ lawsuits that were laughed out of court do to a lack of ANY evidence.

Trump didn’t lose because he’s a narcissistic sociopath who also happens to be an incompetent moron and presided over the greatest loss of life since the Civil War.

No! The election was stolen, by. a band of Satanic pedophiles trafficking and eating children!

Seriously, how thick do you need to be to believe this?
