The virus contracted from animals to human beings. I suspect their unusual eating habits of Chinese and their sanitation conditions.

No matter what the WHO does it will be considered guilty of something, I seriously pity the officials in change of making the decisions.

If they see the disease is mostly lethal only in places with insufficient health services and that an pandemic is likely to be self contained with only minor losses it would still be a bad proposition to postpone calling it a crisis because people would blame them for every single death that would inevitably happen.

But if they declare the crisis right now, the control is possible and the transmissions slows and stop that would still make them the bad guys by putting in order measures that causes billions and billions in losses (and that indirectly would cause deaths) for a diseases that "killed almost nobody".

The only good solution for the WHO would be to act as strongly as possible and then fail, so people would not be able to say it was an over reaction, but obviously that is exactly the opposite of their purpose.

This is no longer considered the case. Nor is the fish market considered to be where it started. Interestingly a Canadian lab working with he corona-virus, one of the few allowed to do so, sacked a Chinese doctor (and a couple others) for unspecified security violations. That same doctor also worked in a similar lab in Wuhan, one "researching" contagious diseases. The lab is 20km from Wuhan fish market.

The virus has some unusual features that make some question its origin.

This, of course, is all coincidence. Only nutters would doubt the official story.

Just wait a little more. I have to say China has a lot of money. They got their money in the pockets of engineers, scientists, politicians, etc... of the world to do their bidding. There's that story about the lab in Wuhan. The plot thickens.

The United States flew about 210 Americans out of Wuhan, to be screened several times on arrival in California.

The first evacuation flight landed at March AFB, out in the desert near LA. No government order has been issued for the quarantine so, technically, they were free to go, but they were strongly urged - and all agreed - to chill in a restricted area of the base for a week or so.

That's how you do it.

Professional epidemiologists and virologists? no, because there is nothing unusual about a coronavirus to be quickly mutating and to undergo naturally homologous recombination.

The only people that have thought it has anything unusual are those that don't really know much about it. Its a textbook example of what everybody in the field has been saying would happen, exactly where it was predicted to happen and with the expected results.

I'm still busy reading every bit about 2019-nCoV, over 500 pages so far from every online page available. I agree with virusrex that for the WHO it's a "damned if you do, damned if you don't"-case.

Here in Germany, with a thriving Chinese community we have 4 cases so far, all originating from the same vector, all patients in pretty good health.

On the other hand, we have fatalities from flu ranging from several hundred to over 20,000 every year - at the moment I see no reason to panic over a new coronavirus with a low fatality rate and long incubation period which enables a working immune system to wake up and work on the intruder.

2019-nCoV seems stable and not likely to mutate into a more deadly strain at the moment. Of course it needs to be watched closely, like every new virus.

But please, don't panic. This is not the thing that's going to wipe humans off the face of the earth.

The human race won't need a virus to accomplish that.

The flights shown on the radar are flights flying over WUH. If you go to the departure board section of the site (I use flight tracker 24) you will see nothing is flying out (with the exception of the evacuation flights, which can be tracked).

The rader flights are 30,000 ft. or more over the airport.

I want to know why there are still flights from China.

What I find interesting is that Wuhan is known as China's smog city and in recent years there have been major protests against 1) the heavy pollution and 2) and a new incineration plant to be built there. The Chinese govt is very sensitive to protests since they can spread to other cities and it doesn't want another Tiananmen Square on its hands. We've been hearing that one of the symptoms of coronavirus is pneumonia along with other respiratory problems, but it's likely that these cases are being exacerbated by damaged lungs and bloodstreams caused by Wuhan's pollution.

“The foul air of dozens of fast-expanding cities across China contains cocktails of toxic contaminants unprecedented in the range of pollutants they contain at high concentrations. Now, new research into these swirling maelstroms of gases and tiny particulates suggests that they may be incubating chemical reactions that compound the health effects in ways not seen before …China has the world’s most dangerous outdoor air pollution.”

“Three other cities listed as regularly suffering dangerous levels of four or five of the pollutants are ... Wuhan in Hubei province ... None of the seven appear in the lists of the ten most polluted Chinese cities published by the WHO or Chinese environment ministry.”

“All the five major pollutants in smogs – SO2, NOx, ozone, PM10 and PM2.5 — are known to be linked individually to increased risk of strokes, heart disease, lung cancer and asthma, and to rising hospital admissions and death rates during smogs. What is disturbing is that there is growing evidence of synergistic effects between these different pollutants..."

So could it be that the coronavirus is being used as a pretext to obscure huge pollution dangers and put down protests against that pollution, through mass lockdowns and quarantines? That's what one journalist with 38 yrs of experience in this area is suggesting.

What are the Chinese hiding in Wuhan?

https://blog.nomorefakenews.com/2020/01/27/what-are-the-chinese-hiding-in-wuhan/

Also interesting is that the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security together with the World Economic Forum and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation held an exercise called Event 201 only 6 weeks before the first case was reported in Wuhan. Their scenario was a coronavirus escaping and causing a pandemic. They didn't discuss ebola, swine flu, bird flu but coronavirus. Coincidence?

Wuhan coronavirus: China was warned in 2017 that a deadly virus could escape its level 4 biohazard lab - meaww.com

1 ( +6 / -5 )

@GreenPeas: I read about that as well - seriously, if I was a scientist working on a new biological weapon, I wouldn't pick a coronavirus as a tool. There are much more efficient options available without much bioengineering necessary. Of course pollution makes lungs more vulnerable to 2019-nCoV but also to other pulmonary diseases, influenza, bronchopneumonia and such. By the way, air pollution in Beijing is even worse, so why not start there?

While cutting down on panic, could we please cut down on paranoia as well?

2 ( +5 / -3 )

@GreenPeas - I do not necessarily agree with all that is written or said in what you have provided but filtering through the articles/videos there is some very interesting information.

Ronrii - I agree panic may be overly high but I found the information interesting.

@Tokyo-Engr - every information about 2019-nCoV is interesting. For me it is even more interesting to filter what is credible, logical, entertaining or discardable. I'm at over 590 pages now, still reading.

This new virus has reached to many countries to be stopped now. It will spread across the world and everyone will eventually get it. With a current death rate of just over 3% and the world population over 7.7 billion people, that translates to a world wide death toll of over 232 Million people. If the virus mutates further and become even more deadly then the expected death toll could get much worse.

This is nothing to be taken lightly. Scientists previously warned that a rise in mean global temperatures could cause new diseases that we are not ready for. This could well be one of those. And there could be more to come if we dont start taking climate change seriously. Action is needed now not in 5 or 10 years time.

This struggle for life and civilization is in the early stages and we are already being pummeled. We could soon be on the ropes.

I have a very bad feeling about this.

-1 ( +5 / -6 )

@Peter14: Agree with you on taking action on battling climate change.

Not agreeing with you on the new virus. It's less deadly than influenza: https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/

About 2%, all fatalities in China.

Please don't panic. Even if it goes world-wide, it will just be another case of "flu" - and a rather mild one, unless it chooses to mutate.

There is still time to panic later.

Looking at the departures and arrivals for Wuhan right now there are three arrivals two domestic and one from Singapore, there are also three departures two locals and one heading to Italy - it still appears to be business as usual on a local sense.

No paranoia here. On the contrary I believe it's mostly contrived. I don't know the real reason for the heavy- handed hype in the media and so on -- probably there are multiple reasons -- but there is a history of this kind of scaremongering going on with the real story coming out later when the news cycle has moved on.

By the way, air pollution in Beijing is even worse, so why not start there?

Because there were no protests and dissent in Beijing like there were in Wuhan. See the first link in my post above. I put those links in concerning the Johns Hopkins Center/Bill Gates simulation and new vaccine being developed because there is a lot more happening than what we see on the surface. ie; who stands to benefit from this?

If you're the govt you can increase control over the population and quell all protests and dissent, which was the case in Wuhan before this coronavirus came out.

The pharmaceutical industry and medical cartel can profit nicely by scaring the pants off people. Many will willingly line up to get their vaccine.

People will accept increased surveillance and won't mind a stepped up police and military presence along with quarantine.

If this quarantining of cities is 'successful' in China then it may well become a blueprint and exported to other countries.

One Chinese researcher, Zhong Nanshan, who is at the forefront of pronouncements about the “new coronavirus” should be taken with a grain of salt since it was he who “discovered the SARS virus” in 2003 ...

Zhong Nanshan’s 2003 SARS “pandemic” was a dud. A WHO (World Health Organization) advisory against traveling to “infected” Toronto cost merchants in the city several billion dollars. Meanwhile, a Canadian WHO biologist, Frank Plummer, told the press he was shocked by the fact that fewer and fewer SARS patients had the virus in their bodies. Actually, “fewer and fewer,” he said, was approaching ZERO. Hoax. THE PURPORTED CAUSE OF THE DISEASE WASN’T THERE. People had ordinary flu symptoms.
