Dont back down, freedom lovin'g Hong Kongers. You're correct to fear the creeping tentacles of the CCP.

The Chinese leadership in Beijing have a real problem on their hands in HK. The protesters are giving the people of China hope and putting Xi in a precarious position. China will not put up with such dissent on its territory for much longer and I fear that this will end suddenly and violently for the protestors.

I salute the courage of those protesting in Hong Kong.
They understand the consequences of not fighting Chinese control.
Why would anyone who has ever had a taste of freedom want to place their future in the hands of a government diabolically opposed to personal freedom and with a track record of welching on multiple promises made at the time of the handover?

Only a leftist mindset would attempt to impose more and more draconian measures on a locality which allows citizens to enjoy freedoms which allow prosperity and progress.
Shameful!

Yes, because rightists are all about open and free societies. Just look at Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan.

The unelected dictators in Beijing will not like this at all. I can see a "state of emergency" being declared and Chinese tanks on Hong Kong streets crushing protestors beneath their tracks. Of course, the "state of emergency" will never be lifted and Hong Kong will become just another Chinese city. No rights, no justice.

Mrs Lam should have resigned already. She's a liability to Beijing, and a symbol of 'sold out' to HKers. No point lingering around acting shameless.

The British and colonial Hong Kong flags were raised in the legislature. That's how upset the protesters are with Mrs. Lam and the LegCo.
