Where all historians end up placing blame for the collapse of the American political-economic system remains to be seen, but one thing for sure they all will say it happened while Trump was president.

Donny knows a lot of people gave his incompetence a pass be said the economy was doing so well. Now that it’s not, and his bumbling response t the pandemic is partly to blame, he seems to want to try to buy people votes through massive government handouts.
And his fans cheer this socialism because it’s temporary. These same fans continue to disparage Obama for having also provided temporary stimulus to pull the economy out of the abyss into which republicans shoved it via banking deregulations.

They'll also say he did an overall great job in defeating the virus and reopening the economy.
The 2008-2009 financial debacle happened while Obama was president. Wasn't his fault, just like this pandemic isn't Trump's fault.

The 2008 financial collapse happened under Bush. Obama fixed it literally as the first thing he did in his presidency.
Unlike this time, where the collapse happened under Trump, well into his presidency, even though the economy was supposedly great under his leadership.
Part of the reason his economy was rolling along smoothly was from diverting money from things like environmental protections, and get this, pandemic prevention. This pandemic is only the first of many failings that America will see over the years from Trump's complete and utter disaster of a presidency.
Worst. President. Ever.
