Does Trump not realise that when he imposes a tariff it is the American people who pay it?   Somebody should quietly tell him.  Still, no need to worry.  This time next week he would have forgotten he said this and will come up with some new nonsense.

Mexican exporters are looking into sending their goods to the United States by air freight

Trump, a property developer who's relied all his life on armies of highly paid lawyers, accountants and people who actually understand business to help him maintain his inherited wealth, is once again shown he doesn't understand the world of business and trade. He's out of his element and in over his head on this, too.

Whatever works, whatever he needs to do. He and his staff will figure out the best way to hit Mexico and send a warning shot and if that doesn’t work, then he can and will close the. Order, either way, you are now seeing more Democrats agreeing that the border is becoming a serious problem and if you have an Obama loyalist like Jeh Johnson calling this situation a crisis then you it’s very bad.

Flip flopper supporters change their tune with their flip flopping leader who can do no wrong. Just what has he achieved in these last two years?

A lot, but you wouldn’t know that since the media was on their Russian collusion hoax jihad.

One biggest Trump achievement was adding $2 trillion to the national debt

And the next President will add to that as well.

Fact checking Trumps acclaimed successes shows too many untruths

Ahhh, from the liberal perspective one-sided truth, I guess so. Lol

@bas4 th all the socialists entitlements

Are you including in your definition of 'socialists entitlements' subsidies for corporate farms, subsidies for oil corporations plus the trillions the military spends defending their interests around the globe, and of course the 'questionably necessary' government contractors who get subsidized healthcare, among the other wealthy receiving government handouts?

Didn't Trump agree a replacement for NAFTA with Mexico only last year? Now he plans to break the agreement before it even begins. This shows that there is no point making any deal with Trump as he will not uphold it.

If Trump is worried about illegal immigrants why doesn't he get on with building his wall? If he is concerned about drug smuggling he should punish drug users in the US more severely to limit demand.

Specifically, from cradle to grave medical for all, single payer, the number of farms as opposed to the millions of Americans that get sick daily and the astronomical cost it takes to care for people subsidized by the government of our size is unsustainable as well as illogical. If the Democrats really want to do good for the nation, limit healthcare to only the 22 million that can not afford insurance, not the rest of the country that enjoys their privatized healthcare system.

plus the trillions the military spends defending their interests around the globe

Yes, you need to protect the nation and with growing threats from China and Russia, it is imperative to have a very strong military.

Best president ever. Put the pressure on. Have to stop this human catastrophe at the border.

Perfect example! You hope he closes the border, and when he said he wouldn't (on the basis that it would be an economic catastrophe for the US - which is true) you DIDN'T CALL HIM OUT.

I did, I want him to close the border, so he wants to possible go with tariffs, seems like a first good step and if it doesn’t work, he can then shut the border down.

Spending money on tac cuts for the rich solves nothing and achieves nothing. It's bad.

I’m from California tell me about it. Lol

He's not an outsider. He bragged for years about all the politicians he knew and hung out with - including the Clintons! It's only rubes who got duped by his see-through charlatanism.

As an aside, since I know you're in the market for real estate, I have a bridge I'd like to sell you.

First I’m not a right winger or even a Republican, Trump is an outsider that is the main nucleus for opposing the man and why the establishment hates him with a passion. He was a former celeb, but always commented as an outsider about politics and then later decided to get into politics, thankfully and take on these establishment bozos which i deeply admire.

take on these establishment bozos

Do these establishment bozos include Elliott Broidy, George Nader, Steve Mnuchin, Wilbur Ross, Andrew Wheeler, Betsy De Vos and her brother Erik Prince, and Elaine Chao? Not to mention dirty tricksters Paul Manafort and Roger Stone? Just wondering.

Where or what is irrelevant, but he’s an American, that’s the only thing that matters.

Since you brought it up the other day, where was Obama born and what is his ethnicity?

Is medical care on US bases for civilians in Japan free?

The truth is irrelevant?

but he’s an American, that’s the only thing that matters.

Above all else, uber alles, apparently.

U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday threatened to impose tariffs on car imports from Mexico unless it does more to stop illegal migrants and drug trafficking, his latest warning to America's southern neighbor to tighten border security.

Which Mexico? There's several of them, according to Fox...

The headline should read, "Trump threatens to raise taxes on Anericans if Mexico doesn't comply with his asinine demands", because that is what will happen if import duties are raised. Americans will pay higher prices. Only a person with a complete lack of understanding how trade works could possibly believe it is Mexican companies who will pay these taxes. Which is, of course, to say that neither Trump nor his worshippers have a single iota of business acumen between them.

We call these people "Republicans".

Surely, the American government,,with the most powerful military in the world can defend its border?

Everyone but Trunp fans knew the border closing was an enpty threat.
