You only get one chance at gaining people’s trust when it comes to experimental vaccines

I am really curious how all these vaccine things will continue.

More and more questions are coming up, more and more people start to hesitate to take the vaccines....and so on.

Even in my home country, which was praised so high for its vaccine roll out programm, is currently slowing down its vaccine roll out programm.

Many of my friends over there also now dont expect to get vaccinated before end of the year.

In one side, it is not so bad that Japan is slow.

I hope for myself to get the Pfitzer vaccine at the end of this year here in Japan.

People here didn't believe and downvoting me when i told that it got terrible side effects which i was told by my far relatives in London. It's dangerous to even healthy ones.

Why UK is trying to make it compulsory for their every citizens when they also have the human rights, no one wants to know but keep following the orders from the top.

Why UK is trying to make it compulsory for their every citizens when they also have the human rights,

You seem confused or maybe read some misleading information somewhere.

UK isn’t trying to make the vaccine compulsory for every citizen, because they have the legal right to refuse.

Unless those people are anti-vaxxers. Then you don’t get any chance, experimental or otherwise.

There seems to be some confusion about this article. It is not about increased numbers of side effects being covered up. It is about older data being reported to show more efficacy than what up to date information shows. No offense intended but the article doesn’t vindicate you in any way.

We all know what is going on!

This has been a smear campaign by the USA and Germany from the start in the buy America and buy Germany (to slightly lesser extent).

AZ is cheaper, easier to distribute than the America/Germany joint venture.

Simple the USA/Germany Vaccine cost at least $20 per dose that is a minimum of $40 per person.

AZ cost $4 per dose $8 per person.

So at 5 times the cost and being far costlier to store, transport, etc... the USA/Germany Vaccine would eventually lose to the far cheaper and easier to administer AZ.

No now that the smear campaign has done it's job the USA/Germany Vaccine is more in demand than ever.

Guarantee any data is not tests against Covid-19-B.1.351 variant. South Africa has thrown out this vaccine and given it poor African nations.

I hope for myself to get the Pfitzer vaccine at the end of this year here in Japan.

When, after the third wave and the superspreader olympics? Too late.

"AstraZeneca to publish full U.S. trial results after rebuke over 'outdated' data"

and this is the reason why Japan insisted on its own study and went slow. Well done J-government.

In reality Pfizer has had more instances that AZ and the data in the UK is available, I have already given the info on past comments.

The fact that AZ has been the target from the start by Germany and the USA the country's where the more expensive rival was developed should give us a clue as to what is going on,

As the saying goes "follow the money". Buy America/Germany at $20 a shot or buy UK/Swiss at $4 a shot and the $20 quickly for to the wayside unless someone comes up with a good smear campaign on The $4 shot, clearly seems to be working.

True and unfortunately none of those instances are reported in the US mainstream news to maintain the "narrative" that vaccines are 100% safe (and worse free from liability - you are on your own).

[VAERS US GOVERNEMENT DATA]: The general public is mostly unaware that there is COVID19 vaccine voluntarily reported reaction data information available - US Government VAERS Data (Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System) provided directly to CDC / FDA each week:

https://medalerts.org/vaersdb/findfield.php?TABLE=ON&GROUP1=CAT&EVENTS=ON&VAX=COVID1

[UK Yellow Card Government Data]: As for AstraZeneca in the UK here is their recent (March 16th, 2021) compiled data of negative adverse events:

Actually it has nothing to do with actual safety.

The reality is money and politics.

Pfizer Vaccine is a USA/German developed Vaccine, costing 5 times more than AZ a UK/Swiss Vaccine.

Germany wants it's BioNtech Vaccine to sell more and is also upset with the UK over Brexit.

The USA wants it buy America Pfizer to be number one abd make more money.

It is not anything more than straight up greed and money.

It reminds me of when Japanese cars started to out sell USA makers in North America. Rumours spread that they were not safe in crash tests which was false but for a long time and even today may still believe that.

Agreed. Actual safety...can be downplayed, doctored and/or thrown out the window.

In the end it would be profits before people and selling the fear...er...product.

Greed, money and power to whomever takes first prize to vax the world for "herd immunity".

@neowave

Please do not try and twist my words into some anti vaxxer thing.

Vaccines work they are safe, covid is real and a danger to many.

That is the reality.

7 ( +10 / -3 )

There is no "narrative" that vaccines are 100% safe, the real argument that antivaxxers want to misrepresent is that vaccines are simply much safer than the COVID infection, and that problems after vaccination would need to be higher than in non-vaccinated people to begin to even suspect they are related to vaccination.

A very easy way to discover this obvious intent to mislead is that antivaxxers will present the information at VAERS trying to imply any problem happens only on vaccinated people, and will go to great efforts to hide when the problems happens at the same rates in the general population, even more when the problems happen more frequently in unvaccinated people. Once you see this being endlessly copy-pasted it is very clear the person doing it is not interested in presenting information honestly.

Another failed argument that antivaxxers repeat all the time and that can be easily proved false is that vaccines are being pushed only for profits, when in reality vaccines are the best way to reduce profits made by pharmaceutical companies. One person visiting the ICU, even for a few days is enough to give more profits than hundreds of vaccines being sold.

The AstraZeneca vaccine is evidently safe and effective, specially to prevent the most dangerous forms of the disease. Up until now there is no important negative reaction that is more likely in vaccinated people (the data in VAERS is the one that proves this safety) but it has been unfortunately been entangled in a struggle for power between governments, and even worse the antivaxxer propaganda are completely happy to cooperate with this as long as they can try to decrease confidence in vaccines in general.

Scepticism about a particular vaccine does not make you an "antivaxxer".

Can we do without the misleading labelling? THanks.

Scepticism about a particular vaccine does not make you an "antivaxxer".

Well when that information is erroneous and deliberately misleading then that is not Scepticism.

Many here are taking information out of context, using false information, etc...

To try and make AZ and in many cases all the Vaccines look bad.

One of the best example is the often used " it takes decades to develop a new Vaccine"

Yes it did 30, 40, 50 years ago.

The development basics for Coronal viruses has been going on for 17 years and only now was that data and the technology needed.

Technology has advanced greatly just look at how the internet has changed things just in our daily lives.

Well what used to take weeks, months even years for different researchers to exchange information data and results can now be done in seconds.

Results of today's work in Germany can be reviewed in America as it is happening.

Put all that together and we have a far different world now than in the past and far better tools, so if we still were talking a decade to develop a vaccine, then we wouldn't have progressed at all.

Scepticism about a particular vaccine does not make you an "antivaxxer".

Being skeptical would not make a person use false arguments that can easily be disproven.

If a person willingly misrepresent the argument for the vaccines, that is no longer someone just being skeptical, this is a person trying to deceive others so they end up making the same mistake.

An skeptical person would wonder "is it true that vaccines are safer than COVID?" (and could easily confirm this with mountains of information available to anybody)

An antivaxxer would simply say "they lie when they say vaccines are 100% safe", because that is not what the experts and professional media say about the vaccines.

Already I've personally known many people who've taken the vaccines --some in ages 20s-30s, some ages 70s-90s (yes, over 90)-- and so far everyone has been fine

People tend to fear the unknown, but the more people know other people personally who've taken the vaccines and lived to tell about it, the more it becomes a known and the less fear they realize

About 1/4 of Americans have already been vaccinated one dose, and about 14% are already fully vaccinated. No issues so far. That's tens of millions of Americans. The skepticism amongst Americans has now been going down. The more they personally know their fellow Americans come out just fine, the less fear they have

Americans, you're doing good. Keep it up. You'll come up ahead of other countries
