On the other, Maduro, with backing from Russia, China and Turkey,

Putin leads a far right regime, as far right as any since the 1940's. He and his media outlets constantly attack the left, liberals, socialists, any group with views they claim are NOT far right.

Why is Putin backing Maduro, who alleges to be a socialist, and siding with China, which alleges to be communist.

That he's working with Turkey where Erdogan's a fellow dictator makes sense.

The control of oil makes strange bedfellows.

US, Russia, China, Turkey: let Venezuelans decide what to do for themselves.

No more wars for oil.

Trump couldn't find Venezuela on a map, and has no understanding of anything going on there.

When oil prices were high Chavez should have used that money to diversify the economy. Instead, he was spreading that wealth all over the place. Venezuela has huge oil reserves and if we had played our cards right under Bush and Obama we would have a dependable source of oil and not need to devastate our Federal land and have Trump imagine oil rigs up and down the Atlantic coastline. Now we're back to idiots like Bolton and Abrams salivating over a military intervention.

Here we go again, the US bullying and dictating to the rest of the world. When will nations stand up for themselves? When will foreign governments start standing up to the nation that has been at war with half the globe for the past 70 years?

Russia and China want their loans repaid - and what better way to ensure that by securing the country's gold reserves

They don't care Maduro or whoever is running his people to the ground

They just want their money back - that's what really matters

All that state owned oil and the government is in debt. What an indictment of socialism.
