Time for World Governments to start banning US companies from doing business in their countries. Retaliation is the only language Trump understands. The US is not the center of the world and perhaps it needs trade isolation to ram that point home to Trump.

It kind of is at the moment.

I dislike Trump.... but that does not stop me from liking some of the things he does. This is one. Iran has supported terrorism since they overthrew the Shah 40 years ago. Like North Korea, they've continually threatened their neighbors and they continued to develop Nuclear Weapon capabilities despite many being against it. I did not support the USA canceling their treaty with Iran but you either go all in once a decision is made or it was not worth making in the first place. I'm with Trump, time to go all in.
SuperLib
Great.
Then strengthen it. No need to throw away what is working and took years to create.
TumbleDry
Create daughter companies, deal with Iran separately. Done.
Laguna
From the looks of it, Trump's been hitting his tanning machine pretty hard.
bass4funk
He is, what the Dems think was working was indeed working for the business international community, but was disastrous for the Saudis and the Israelis.

@Laguna
I was about to say how your comment was irrelevant, but then I looked at the picture. Oh my god that's bad...
Pukey2
He's absolutely cooking!
TumbleDry
No need for a tanning machine. Golfing does it.
Toasted Heretic
Fomenting dissent, hitting hard with sanctions. This is a push for regime change and a concerted attempt to destabilise the country.
US meddling in foreign affairs is nothing new but this is blatant.
The remaining countries signed up to the deal need to stand up to the great satan.
Ban US imports, make it impossible for American businesses to operate in their countries etc.
Black Sabbath
Psst. Trump's tweets mean nothing as far as policy goes. They are meant for his base. th th th that'all.
bass4funk
One can only hope.
Yes!
Satan? Yeah...lol...ok..
Then everyone would be slitting their own throats. As I keep saying, if America sneezes everyone catches a cold.

Is it that hard for people to just say this is a "good thing" that we can all support instead of continuing unrelated personal attacks? Or have liberals gone so far left that you support Iran now as part of #resisteverything

Oil prices are sure to rise. That will of course make the Saudis happy.
Conservative extremists in Iran are likely to gain in influence as they will be able to blame the U.S. for Iran's economic woes. That will make Netanyahu and Trump happy as their respective bases thrive on constant fear and demonization of Iran.
Trump has made the likelihood of Iran developing nukes more likely, not less. And then Bolton, Netanyahu, and other neocons might get the war they've always wanted.
Amateur hour.
plasticmonkey
But the deepest motivation for Trump was that he knew the Iran deal was working, but it really irked him that it was Obama who was part of it. Ditto ACA.
bass4funk
Oh, about that...

They won’t be happy for long.
They always have, nothing new.
That’s the fault of the Mullahs, not Trump, Netanyahu or the good people of Iran.
They were going to do that regardless and they played the Obama like a Stradivari.
That would depend on them.
plasticmonkey
Because Hannity told you so? Trumpsters, lol
TrevorPeace
Does someone Photoshop his picture to make him look orange??? It's really quite ghastly.

Do you really think Putin's powers extend that far?
If so, expect to see more journalists removed https://www.usnews.com/news/world/articles/2018-08-07/funerals-held-for-3-russian-journalists-killed-in-africa

More than likely, Iran will rev up its nuclear engines again. Trump will meet with Rohhani a year from now, declare victory and end up with a nuclear deal worse than the one the U.S. had before. Trump will be happy and the Iranians will have nukes ready for action.
It makes perfect sense if you're living in Trump World.

The farcical and dangerous embarrassment by the name of Donald J. Trump is doing what his handlers in occupied Jerusalem order him to do. The Jewish State of Israel. wants to force the USA into a devastating proxy war with Iran.
George W (Weapons of Mass Deception) Bush took his orders from Israel and started the mind boggling proxy wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, wars that still in progress.
Hallowed
Now if only Trump could take the same hardline attitude towards North Korea, but we all know he is too cowardly to face up to KJU and China. Why is North Korea getting a pass?
lucabrasi
@yamada
I’ve got no time at all for the current Israeli regime, but the “Jewish state” prefix is approaching dog-whistle bigotry.

Is he eating that microphone?

It’s this devotion to going at it alone that just doesn’t make any sense. Surely that can’t be the first and best way.
winnie4
He is trying to do what is best. Just Trudeau definitely would not have stood up to them.
Ganbare Japan!
I trust and expect an exception will be made by Trump and Michael Pence for Japan to trade with Iran. Japan is resource poor, and Iran is source of oil, furthermore Japan and Iran have always had good relations. Iranian people love Japan. Japan is neutral and does not get involved in Middle East conflict.
I agree that companies in the USA should be punished for dealing with Iran.
commanteer
Why single out Trump? The US has been acting increasingly this way ever since the 2nd world war. They believe US "principles" (by which I mean the interests of the rich, connected and powerful) are universal.
The Iranian government is awful, but I think the US engages in way too much interference in foreign affairs. That's why it's so laughable when they accuse Russia of it.
katsu78
Wow, old man Bonespurs really wants someone else to fight a war for him, huh.
bass4funk
No, Turley and Napolitano did as well as the Judge. Lol

Sanctions do not work if only one or a few participate. This is one way to get others to participate.
It is exactly what a "bully" would do.
But, this is Trump.
He is only using this method to bring attention to the rest of the world to really take a look at exactly what is happening in Iran, the Middle East and Europe and the value, effectiveness and status of the agreement signed. Not so much for Israel, but for the entire Western world as we know it. He wants "controversy".
He wants "disagreement". He wants forced "arguments" and finally "discussion", realistically and pragmatically.
That has been his method; using Twitter, the "fake News agenda" and even calling Kim a dog to intiate and stimulate and in a way as a "bully" force some real consideration and action.
Because only he could.

Trump threw the baby out with the bathwater on this one. He should have reevaluated and tinkered with and revised what was already in place. To just say what the Obama administration had accomplished was all bad and completely destroy what had been built is nuts. Sure, it wasn't perfect, but nothing ever is.
What we have now is a full blown mess.
Laguna
Federica Mogherini, the EU’s high representative for foreign affairs, was today quoted: "If there is one piece of international agreements on nuclear non-proliferation that is delivering, it has to be maintained. We are encouraging small and medium enterprises in particular to increase business with and in Iran as part of something that for us is a security priority.”
Now, to be sure, the EU’s high representative for foreign affairs is not one one must pay attention to if one is intent on one's course, but it is a bellwether. If Trump is intent on dividing the very alliance that defined the 20th century, he might as well be honest about it. Putin couldn't do much better.
mukashiyokatta
Iran says the US cannot be trusted -- how do you answer that, USA? Is it true that the Trump administration cannot be trusted?? How about it?
HonestDictator
Uh they've always been doing this regardless. So the difference is? To be honest, the world needs to stop molly-coddling Iran's government. When they cross the line, then there will be military action. But don't keep supplying them with money that Iran's corrupt government will continually misuse and abuse to support continual problems in the region.
RichardPearce
Why would anyone sane think that something being disastrous for the Saud crime and the last surviving Apartheid regime was bad?
PS, Folks, the US threw worse 'sanctions', as well as WMDs at Iran before, they both survived and refused to go the WMD route themselves.
CaptDingleheimer
Trump is going to successfully topple the Iranian regime with economics. The people are going to overthrow the government within 18 months. What comes after that, for better or for worse, who knows. But mark my words.
SuperLib
What if Russia refuses to go along?
