Trump capitulating to Canada, Mexico, Europe, and Japan. He created this entire problem by trying to act tough, but now he's appeasing everyone. Why even create a ruckus at all?

I guess liberals want to make themselves feel good. Nothing wrong with thinking that. Lol

"But, but, but... they were supposed to let us walk all over them!"

I guess liberals want to make themselves feel good.

by remaining relevant.

Of what they perceive in “their minds” to be facts, this is very true

You miss the point and therefore... as is so often the case... remain irrelevant.

The liberals never make sense, but I get, they try to remain relevant with as always zero solutions and it’s apparent seeing how the Dems support the President on this. They themselves would never attempt such a move.

Your take on how the liberals feel is an irrelevant response to Chip Star's comment. Any other statement you have added or may add to support that initial irrelevant response is by default irrelevant.

But you ARE good at that at least.

President Trump has a conversation with Businessman Trump on China...

Pres: American companies should shun business with China - they're unfair, they cheat, and they steal American jobs...

Bus: I get all my clothing line made in Chinese factories, and Ivanka gets all her shoe line made there - they work cheap in those sweatshops...

Pres: This is outrageous - you are taking the jobs out of American hands...

Bus: So what...my supporters are so bamboozled, they won't care...

Pres: Aren't you ashamed working with a regime that's a dictatorship?

Bus: Are you kidding? Haven't you heard of Trump Tower Moscow?

Pres: That other Trump is an Idiot...

Bus: That other Trump is an Idiot...

Dropping the tariffs on our allies was long overdue, and shouldn't have been done in the first place. Just a waste of money and it drove a wedge between us and them when the real problem was China. So now that's been taken off the table.

Trump is focusing on intellectual property instead of the deficit, which is also good. His followers are repeating what he says so now now we're all in agreement as to where the focus should be.

China really can't be allowed to continue down their chosen path, and if they want to participate in the international economy they need to start respecting things like property rights. Theft isn't a valid form of competition.

I just wish Trump could create a united front with our allies. The US, plus the support of our allies, could be an insurmountable obstacle for China to overcome. Right now the US is taking all the damage and all the risk. Maybe someone in the White House finally figured out they could actually be an asset for us.

That’s your opinion, but I disagree.

Any other statement you have added or may add to support that initial irrelevant response is by default irrelevant.

If you think so, you are allowed to think that. He has his opinions and I have mine.

For the most part, I actually agree with you.

As an American, I mostly disagree with Trump. On this issue, I agree with Trump. If Trump's tariffs are such a bad idea, then why are so many Democratic, European countries backing him in this effort?

To all who claim Trump is an idiot, what would YOU do about China?

The status quo clearly did not and isn't working. China has no respect for international laws and there are only two things that China responds to: economic or military force. Diplomacy does not work with China and I think we can all agree on that.

Why should China talk to the USA when clearly it is a waste of time?

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Why should China talk to the USA

Because it's in their interest to cut a deal. The alternative is the tariffs, which really sucks for them.

lincolnman: President Trump has a conversation with Businessman Trump on China...

What a silly conversation, straight out of lincolnman's imagination. Now here's what Sleepy Joe Biden actually said: ( Get ready, you can't make this up... )

China is going to eat our lunch? Come on, man!” The fact that they have this great division between the China Sea and the mountains in the East – I mean in the West. They can't figure out how they're going to deal with the corruption that exists within the system. They're not bad folks, folks. But guess what, they're not competition for us.”

Good grief... good thing he's not the president and never will be.

Serrano, so why is the trade unbalance even larger for the USA?
