There is no trade deal coming. Trump’s time is growing short and the Chinese probably thinks the next President will be more trackable. This will go into the primaries next year and beyond.

U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday predicted

Over/under on how many days until he flip-flops on his prediction?

Mnuchin said Trump could order companies out of China

Would that include the businesses Trump/Ivanka, Inc. have arranged? Or because they made their personal deals with Chinese Communist Party (CCP) oligarchs, would they be exempt.

Seems like the paper tiger is folding.

Over/under on how many days until he flip-flops on his prediction?

“China wants a resolution to the dispute” that would mean they hurting and badly and want an end to this trade dispute so it’s coming from their end, that’s a good sign.

Would that include the businesses Trump/Ivanka, Inc. have arranged? Or because they made their personal deals with Chinese Communist Party (CCP) oligarchs, would they be exempt.

Like Biden, Hillary and Feinstein...

Yawn, it’s like the Russia, Russia, racist, racist, Stormy, Stormy rant, no one is listening to that rant, it’s falling on deaf ears...

There is no trade deal coming

There never was a 'trade deal' coming for China, not under the old TPP and certainly not under Trump. It's always going to be about a level playing field and cessation of IP theft. China thinks it's about trade, but they'd be mistaken.

I can't see a deal coming soon between USA and China unless the Chinese can stop state subsidies, avoid IP thefts, fully float its currency, reciprocate direct foreign investment rules and not weaponise trade for political gains.

Trump is an egomaniac with flawed understanding of economics. He thinks he can run "The Economy" like a business. If he orders US companies to not do business with China, Walmart shelves will be empty, and the American middle class won't be able to buy a toilet paper. There are hundreds of thousands, if not millions of jobs that exist because of trade with China. The US economy will completely crumble and fall into deep recession. Millions of Americans are on life support of cheap imports, if you take that away from them, they will go from lower middle class to poor over night. Trump doesn't care about non of that, he just want the economic figures to go up so he can "win". It's all about his ego.

China needs to stop buying foreign treasuries and subsidizing their companies so that the Yuan can go up in value and their own people can have higher purchasing power, then they would be able to consume the goods that they produce instead of exporting them and benefiting few State owned companies. That's easier said than that. The fact that, supposedly a small group of powerful man cannot implement something so simple tells you how much opposition there is from the vested interest groups that benefit from the status quo.

The CCP is not some monolithic party ruled by a King like so many people seem to believe. Like any other government, there are all sorts of competing groups with vested interests. All those State owned companies benefit certain groups of people, and those groups will fight to the end to preserve the status quo. People think China is Socialist, no, that's Capitalism, but Capitalism with so much State involvement leads to Cronyism and Oligarchy, as we are seeing to a lesser extend in America, and that's what is also happening in China. They need to pull back the government involvement and let these giant corporations fight with each other for people's money, rather than fight for political favors with people's money.

So many people think the government can "tame" corporations. Anyone who thinks that has no understanding of history, and is delusional. Any government that tries to "tame" developed industries will get tamed instead, and by tamed i mean bribed into oblivious. Big corporations love regulations, they hate free markets, because they hate competition.

Donnie is desperate - he knows the Trump Slump is coming and he's trying everything, in vain, to try to stop it...

You'll own it Donnie - just give it up now - save yourself the humiliation of a big beatdown in 2020...

Donny says a lot of things, very few of which are accurate or truthful.

No, this is not a logical inference from what China said. The US also wants a resolution to the dispute. Does that mean the US is hurting and badly?

Like Biden, Hillary and Feinstein...

Yawn, it’s like the Russia, Russia, racist, racist, Stormy, Stormy rant, no one is listening to that rant, it’s falling on deaf ears...

The white flag of surrender.

OK Trump. Let's see what you can do. I have zero faith in you since you have zero accomplishments on the world stage.

Prove me wrong.

the US wins no matter what. Negotiations 101: the side that needs the other side more always loses. Pretty obvious the Us does not need anyone. It would be nice to have them but we don't need anyone.

Negotiations 101: the side that needs the other side more always loses

Um, no that’s not correct.

As someone who does negotiations for a living, I truly wonder if you’ve ever done any negotiations after reading that.

But hey, for giggles, let’s pretend it’s not incorrect. How does China need America more than the opposite?

Donnie is desperate

So is China, they called, they want to settle this, they should.

he knows the Trump Slump is coming and he's trying everything, in vain, to try to stop it...

Just as Xi is feeling the strain now as well, good.

You'll own it Donnie - just give it up now - save yourself the humiliation of a big beatdown in 2020...

Yeah, Billy Bush will bury him, Hillary will win, Mueller is going to put him in an orange jumpsuit, Stormy will end it all for him, Cohen’s got the goods, The Squad is going to end him, the so called recession ok, so now it’s Xi? I’m just waiting to see what and who’s next for liberals failed cheerleading to rally behind. ROFL!

Biiiingoooo!

Trump is begging Xi to let him back down while claiming a victory. He has nothing to offer but bluff, bluster, and a need to win each news cycle. Watching him rail against his domestic rivals on the world stage, while resorting to his weird "fake news" authoritarian crap, is nothing less than embarrassing and unsettling.

Time to end this nightmare, and make the Republican enablers and supplicants pay.

I wonder when our naive Midwestern farmers are going to stop buying his malarkey - - pre- or post- bankruptcy?

@bas4f Like Biden, Hillary and Feinstein...

Posters who've often written about their disgust for those three are now including Trump in with them. Another example of Trump's bass deserting him.

it’s like the Russia, Russia, racist, racist, Stormy, Stormy

Thanks for the reminders of Russia's 'meddling' in the election, Trump's racism, and Stormy.

WalMart shelves will most definitely not be empty, and the American middle class after what is left from the Obama Admin and Clinton Foundation have plenty of other sources to procure products from aside China. It is China who will suffer the most as is visible everyday as the world will stop going to China to buy cheap junk including that worthless toilet crumbling paper before one can use it. The thousands of millions of jobs are all in China and most definitely not in the US because of China. Furthermore the US does not need or expect trade with China. While the media is all hyped about this in reality for both countries it is simply much ado about nothing except bring the world closer to one world government in line with the UN GDS plan for 2030.

Both countries are pawns in a much bigger trade picture.

Waiting for the 180 tomorrow.

Trump is begging Xi to let him back down while claiming a victory.

What? Is that the new CNN talking points? Lol

He has nothing to offer but bluff, bluster, and a need to win each news cycle.

You mean, the media needs to attack in order to keep their heads above water. Case in point, Cuomo is angry that Trump hasn't aged like other Presidents, this is how low that network has sunk.

Watching him rail against his domestic rivals on the world stage, while resorting to his weird "fake news" authoritarian crap, is nothing less than embarrassing and unsettling.

Great!! That means he’s doing the right thing if liberals get upset.

Time to end this nightmare, and make the Republican enablers and supplicants pay.

How?

I wonder when our naive Midwestern farmers are going to stop buying his malarkey - - pre- or post- bankruptcy?

Ok...uh...lol

Nice try, nice try...

Thanks for the reminders of Russia's 'meddling' in the election, Trump's racism, and Stormy.

Since none of that garbage worked, what’s next on the menu of Democrat failed ploy?

When USSR fell, it appeared the world became nearly all capitalism countries America being the champion of the world. It did not last long and China is challenging America with a different new economic system -  hybrid of communism and capitalism which proved efficient and successful so far. Japan took 30 or 40 years to build Narita Airport showing inefficiency of democracy. China could have built it in several years. All their lands are not owned by individuals but by the communist government. Chinese are wise people. They will grow and the world will be under the two leaderships - U.S. and China. So, it is not simply a trade issue but hegemony strife between the two countries.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Yes, like I said there is no trade deal coming up for whatever reasons It’s only how the US/Trump wants to concede is this end game, and Trump will have to sort that out with the tech world. He tries to block Huawei, chipmakers balk at the idea and gets an extension. Sept 1st tariffs gets push back to December 15th. Edict for American business to get out of China on Friday, a few days later they should stay and do their best there. Xi is an enemy on Friday then a great man on Monday He says he has second thoughts on trade war with China, then staff translates he regrets not raising tariffs higher (he can still raise them.) Buy Greenland. Cancels Denmark visit. Nuke hurricanes. Countries are just waiting for the next President. Abe is the only one respectful to Trump and that’s only a Japanese tatemae respectful and Abe has few alternatives.

Being President isn’t what Trump expected. He thought it would be endless pageantry and deference from everyone. He likes the rallies, the July 4th parades with military display, the attention the press gives him, the salutes from the Marines, the sumo and sake wine and dine in Tokyo - and he hates the work. He never knew how to negotiate, all he knew was to say “take it or leave it”.

He never expected the investigations or that Congress and the Courts would fight him on his agenda. He never knew what being President actually entailed, what was expected of the person in the office - all he knew was the superficial and what he saw on TV.Being President is stressful and Trump has never had to really deal with stress before on this level, and he might still face criminal charges.

Trump is 73 years old, in poor health and obese. He probably doesn’t exercise and he is constantly in a rage. He shows signs of dementia (which is what killed his father) and the constant stress and opposition is destroying the carefully crafted façade built around his narcissistic ego. In response he has become paranoid and delusional - and I expect things to get worse as the walls close in.

I have thought that Trump might have a major health crisis before the end of his term. Now I wonder if he might not suffer a psychological break, either in addition or instead.

Trump’s behavior has become more bizarre in recent weeks - but it hasn’t become nearly as bizarre as it will as the election approaches and the pressure on him mounts.

He's 73 but he's not in poor health. Even Chris Cuomo complains he doesn't seem to age, lol.

This will be very interesting, Trump is not a real politican, he is a business man

Ok. But what did exactly did Putin do? Did he count the ballots? Did he bribe voters to vote for Trump? Did he bribe the dems to concede to Trump? Did he manipulate the figures? what exactly? enough with the abstract "Russia meddled". That doesn't say anything specific. Please tell what exactly Putin did. What was his con job?

It's easy to find....for those that try....

Why don't you take a little personal responsibility and go through the 59 pages of the REPUB Senate Select Committee report and see for yourself? That's what I did...

@lincolnman

@Mr. Noidall

Even if Russia tried to interfere with the election, it was still on the people to go out and vote. Russia did not win the election for Trump and Trump did not win the election. The Democrats shot themselves in the foot by seeking glory. The people continuously selected Sanders over Clinton. No matter how many chances Clinton received, she continually failed the people. Then the Democrats failed the people by going with Clinton over Sanders. The democrats alienated a lot of their voters because they wanted to make history by saying they were championing women rights and advancement as well as those of African-Americans by being the first to have an African-American President as well as a woman President elected. Every poll, including Republican polls showed Sanders beating Trump by a landslide and had Hilary neck and neck, beating, or losing to Trump. At the end of the day, the Democrats damaged their own election more than the people did. Many people saw Clinton as a bigger evil than Trump. So a lot of Democrats also voted Republican or didn't vote at all. A lot of Republicans that would have voted for Bernie also voted for Trump.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

That's what I did...

Great, help me out. I'm ready to walk away from Trump if I was duped by Putin. Tell exactly how. Why make me go through the trouble when you can help a brother out. Come on, please, what exactly was the con job I fell for?

Well, I'm confused - I give you several references to include one on Fox News, yet you want me to explain it to you?

You prefer my explanation over Fox?

@Lincoln, listen to the voice of reason. All liberals should heed this, but they don’t and they’re fallIng into that conundrum trap again.....oh well, there’s always 2024.

The Russian group, the Internet Research Agency, had a monthly budget of $1.2 million to fuel what the indictment called "information warfare." The operation was divided into departments including, a data analysis department, graphic designers, finance department and an information technology flank. The indictment — part of Mueller's ongoing probe into Moscow's election meddling — charged 13 Russian nationals and three entities in the scheme.

Also:

The Internet Research Agency employed hundreds of people, which they called "specialists," to create fake social media accounts, particularly on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, that would appear to belong to ordinary American citizens, according to the indictment. Throughout the 2016 campaign, the "specialists" created thematic groups on social media, touching on topics such as immigration, the Black Lives Matter movement and religion to sow discord in the election, the indictment said. The accounts were primarily used to disparage Clinton while supporting Sen. Bernie Sanders, Clinton's opponent in Democratic primary, and Trump. They were also used to push false allegations of voter fraud and boost certain hashtags: #Trump2016, #IWontProtectHillary, #TrumpTrain and #Hillary4Prison.
