one of first intelligent statements decisions he's made

Kim wants to be acknowledged as a legitimate nuclear power, but I suppose that's better than war. For once, I approve of Trump's approach.

Trump will claim some kind of win although his "deal" will require zero on-site verification that Kim has curbed his missile program one iota.

Kim is not stupid. He will NEVER give up his nukes -- it's all that stands between him and overthrow.

I predict it will be a photo op with Trump giving concessions.

On the road to denuclearization and peace- noting bad about that!

Diplomacy is always perferable to the alternative. But it must be productive and in our interest.

Here we have Dimwit Donnie, who is going in to a negotiation with Kim, believing Kim's ICBMs don't have the range to reach the US, even when all of his intelligence agencies say they could, because his bud Putin told him they couldn't....unbelieveable.

https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/430437-mccabe-trump-said-i-dont-care-i-believe-putin-when-confronted-with-us

Kim took Trump to the cleaners the last Summit - Trump got nothing, Kim met the US President on the World Stage and was gifted with weakened sanctions enforcement by Russia and China.

Dimwit Donnie is too stupid to be entrusted to negotiate for our country - Ann Coulter has accurately called him an "idiot" and his own staff thinks "he's a danger to the republic"....

Go do what you're good at Donnie - bankrupting companies and hosting boring reality TV shows...oh, and employing illegal immigannts at your properties...

Dimwit Donnie - a 25 watt bulb in a 100 watt world....

The liar will no doubt spin it as a win and make some crazy claim that it's plain sailing from here on in, peace in our time, nuclear threat is over etc.

Of course, dialogue is great and is to be encouraged. But the two figureheads are not the people one should trust in. And don't forget that the likes of Pence and Pompeo will be pushing for a long term Rapturist agenda, too.

Trump will do anything to make "peace" and get that nobel peace prize, it's something he has been obsessing over especially since Obama has one. Well, of course real peace with the DPRK would be a fantastic thing but I hope his intentions are not just for his ego but of for real world peace efforts.

I wonder why Trump isn't speaking out against his other buddy's nuclear threats? Now there's some dialogue that's needed but would be very, very secret.

The DPRK summit is undoubtedly of great importance, but the real threat is Russia and it's hold over Trump.

Maybe Kim will give the sickly PotUS some advice on how to keep older brother happy.

The deal? Formally end military hostilities with a Korean Peace Treaty to replace the 1953 Korean Armistice Agreement.

That would be a good first step.

And that alone would be reason for a Nobel Peace Prize. (Compare that with his predecessor who did absolutely NOTHING to be "awarded" the peace prize, in the process greatly diminished its prestige and significance.)

Denuclearization would be tricky but this president is undaunted by challenges.

There’ll be a Starbucks in Pyongyang within five years. May even mean the beginning of the end of a belligerent, trigger happy hermit kingdom as we know it. Things like gulags could go too. Better than War ay? It’s a win.

They may even throw Japan a bone and send home a couple of aging abductees, for goodwill like, depending on how hard Trump goes in to bat for his mate Abe. Gunna be hard for the Trump hysteria suffering hordes to spin that one. Try they will of course.

Lol, starbucks in a country where nobody but Kim can afford it. Right...You really think Kim is throwing in the towel on communism?

The abductees are all dead or not Japanese anymore. They aren't going anywhere. I'm not trying to spin anything, but starbucks in NK within 5 years, the end of gulag camps, and returning japanese are ideas only someone who hasn't paid attention would come up with. I think Trump's stance on a slow negotiation is a good call though, and I rarely find myself agreeing with the man.

I love this photograph. That's the way I'd like to remember this presidency.

We shall certainly see.

Why would anyone give up thier ace so early? Insisting on it would only derail the talks. This is a good move.

As if any Democrat President has done so, they wouldn’t even attempt to verify Iran’s nuclear capability, they just said, don’t worry you can trust the Iranians, Not according to Israeli and Saudi intelligence. Liberals before pointing the finger, the last President didn’t even care about the survival of Israel or the Saudis or even for the US.

Kim is not stupid. He will NEVER give up his nukes -- it's all that stands between him and overthrow.

Neither are stupid, that’s why Trump was able to even meet with him, entice him, understand what he likes or wants, get into his head and go in incremental steps. You guys weren’t worried about the NK over the last 8 years, but now it’s doom and gloom? Come on....

Au contraire, he's made a slew of intelligent decisions, including canceling Nancy Pelosi's excursion to the EU on the taxpayer dime.

The liar ( allegedly Trump ) will no doubt spin it as a win

The MSM will no doubt spin it as a win for Kim and an embarrassment for Trump.

Trump... doing what Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush, Clinton, Bush and Obama could not do.
