President Trumps CPAC speech was a thing of beauty.
The man is restoring American values, law and order, while atbthevsamebtime dismantling the disasterous Obama regime

Trump on NK - a country that hasn’t attacked the US: “SANCTIONS”
Trump on Russia - a country that has attacked the US: “...”
bass4funk
As usual, the President was awesome.
CrazyJoe
That's nice.
Um, when are we sanctioning the country that actually attacked us...?
katsu78
Dictator Trump, treating global nuclear genocide the same way Marvel treats their cinematic universe. I bet if you sit through a press briefing to the end after everyone else has left, he shows you a 20-second clip of Hillary Clinton checking her email.
If by "American values" you mean "the Ku Klux Klan", then I agree!
It takes an impressive imagination to believe that a President who is under investigation by the FBI and whose inner circle has been issued what, 40 indictments so far, is "restoring law and order".
Tommy Jones
So phase two is being threatened. I wonder what the reaction of the DPRK will be to saber rattling.
Alistair Carnell
An apt description for your tenure as president.

Favorite CPAC moments part 2 and 3;
Nigel Farage and Marion Le Pen bringing back hope that perhaps France and the UK are not lost forever.

With Mueller's findings, with many Americans angry that he continues to shill for the NRA while demeaning young people and law enforcement, with his family members alleged to be influence peddling, with mounting criticisms of his wasting taxpayer money golfing, with mounting criticism of his appointees abusing privileges and wasting taxpayer's money, with attention being given to his criminal connections (past and present), among so many other legitimate concerns, the world must worry what an unstable man like Trump might do to distract from all the messes he's making.
Wag the dog time?
Schopenhauer
Only Trump can change North Korea.
bones
So because NK won’t allow you to bully them and your previous sanctions seem to be ineffective you decide to bring more sanctions? Absolutely brilliant...
bass4funk
What's wrong with Marvel?
So what's the lefts idea on how to treat NK? Make empty threats? Wait until they've perfected their nukes reentry accuracy rate which is what they are doing now as we speak even during this fake NK and SK unity party.
Absurd. What does a laughable, small and insignificant group that is almost non-existent have anything to do with American values? Lol
NK is probably having a serious heartburn about waking up to this. Good on the President.
Yes, tied to mostly financial matters that have nothing to do with Trump. This fake witch hunt keeps proving with each passing day it is just that, a complete farce. Keep hunting truffles.
Haaa Nemui
Exactly. Nothing... I think that's the point Katsu78 was making... duh.
So why all the deflection? There is a lot of it... and btw... truffles are real and extremely valuable.
clamenza
If your points of all references are comic book superheroes wearing utility belts and such.....
Good god.....
Strangerland
Oh, are you unaware about how investigations work? You don't realize that they go after all the peripheral stuff first in order to cinch up the final charges?
Jimizo
You mean the two losers who took hidings in elections like the hiding Trump took from Stormy Daniels?
Was highlight number four when the defender of the world’s most powerful democracy vowed to take severe action against countries who meddle in their democratic process?
I watched some of this this morning and the zoo noises irritated me. Do they have seats for the audience or do the attendees hang from bars on the ceiling and swing out of the window when it’s finished?
bass4funk
I am totally aware, but as the scrutiny of the investigation goes forward and with the internal problems the FBI has, the only thing that they have is to find something, anything that might amount to an obstruction charge, that's pretty much it, other than that, these people are swimming up a stream with the President, but we shall see, but I doubt it.
Laguna
That it was. Praise yourself, threaten to jail your perceived opponents, and almost forget to discuss the purported purpose of the speech. Classic Trump.
Strangerland
Well, you say that.... but these comments show otherwise:
If you really were aware of how investigations work, as you claim, then you would realize that these other charges may have nothing to do with Trump, and yet still be fully in line with the investigation. But this comment shows you do not realize that:
You concluded that it's a fake witch hunt, and a farce, based on the fact that the charged weren't financial matters related to Trump. If you actually were aware of how investigations work, you would realize that the conclusion you drew is not logical based on how investigations work.
Sorry, you can claim you are aware of how investigations work, but your own words prove you wrong.
katsu78
You know that that isn't even true, but when has the truth ever stopped you from making a deceitful personal attack in lieu of a meaningful point with substance?
Jimizo
A pretty reasonable post. Why you called it a ‘fake witch hunt’ and a ‘complete farce’ less than an hour ago is very confusing.
It sounds like you think there is a chance they could get Trump on an obstruction charge. Far from a farce or a witch hunt, isn’t it?
Toasted Heretic
Trump threatens the world and the frightened, mindless lackeys applaud.
This has to be a bad dream.
Toasted Heretic
And what is it with the love for antisemitic European parties?
I'd expect that from the leadership in Pyongyang.
But from the USA?
Bad taste. Bad company.
Blacklabel
But what about Russia? Uh we are talking about a cyberattack by some Russians compared to a country launching test missives. Don’t let that narrative get in the way of reality though.
Laguna
Ha ha! No. Mueller has likely already found much more than simple obstruction, which explains why Gates flipped (and Manafort won't, 'cause he's in too deep). It's about money, probably illegally laundered funds from Russia via various organizations, some which had ties with Trump or those close to him. With Gates now in the fold, the hammer is about to come down.
Strangerland
Yeah, exactly. Or are you trying to pretend that a cyberattack is not effective nor can cause harm to the target?
Wait, which country are you referring to here?
yakyak
Trump is hardly a dictator. Just because you don't like makes him a dictator? Please study your history.
Strangerland
I actually have to agree. At best he is a wannabe dictator. Fortunately the American system has a set of checks and balances, and has been doing it's best to prevent a dictatorship.
dcog9065
Good to hear that NK’s crimes have not been forgotten like the NK Olympic fawners and useful idiots would like us to. And good to hear that we are reaching the final stages of sanctions, any more and there won’t be any options left.
bass4funk
I realize that and I also realize, it doesn’t prove me wrong because it is my opinionated guess going by every other failed attempt Mueller and his band of merrily Democrats have been desperately trying to do, the FBI is beating a dead horse or trying to reanimate the dead horse. Good luck.
Serrano
Obama, Bush Jr, Clinton, China and Russia failed to take care of the situation, but Trump will.
Jimizo
I think the expression is ‘flogging a dead horse’. Think of Benghazi and birtherism.
So, you think the Russia investigation is a ‘complete farce’, a ‘witch hunt’ and ‘beating a dead horse’ while at the same time thinking there is possibility Trump could be done for obstruction?
Doesn’t make much sense, does it?
Toasted Heretic
I seriously doubt that anyone has forgotten the DPRK's many crimes against its own people and further afield.
With steps towards dialogue the world can be a safer place, rather than shouting down diplomacy and sabre rattling.
You see those horrendous images coming from Syria every day. I hope that's not what some want for the people of the DPRK who are not responsible for their leaders actions.
Slickdrifter
Twenty five years of sanctions. I think twenty five could be off on the math.
WORTHLESS!-------Phase two please.
"If the sanctions don't work, we'll have to go phase two," Trump said.
"Phase two may be a very rough thing, may be very, very unfortunate for the world.
Translation- We will begin systematically dismantling the regime.
And the gloves are off. What??? Whats that sound? I hear war drums off in the distance.
sf2k
It's up to NK and SK to put a wrench in the warmonger works and declare enough new relations to give the bots here fits
nandakandamanda
Who will win this argument? Trump, who keeps switching from sabre rattling, to sanctions, to talks of peace? Or DPRK who have never changed their stance? NK are backed into a corner, have no other card to play, and Kim swore to his father he would take the nuclear path right to the end. Kim learned the lessons of countries like Libya's Ghaddafi which gave up nuclear weapons. Russia quietly empathizes with them, as do Iran and Syria and some African countries. Can't see de-nuclearization happening. Really.
So what is Trump doing? Speeches like Trump's may play to the domestic audience, or on a generous day to half of the voting population, but neither they nor sanctions will move the North. I'd lay good money on it.
What happens when an irresistible force meets an immovable mass? Pressure and heat. War.
But if one of the two is not absolute, then there can be movement. Trump's irresistible force may be unpredictable, but it constantly wavers...
Haaa Nemui
Keep your hands off NZ and Chile!
SuperLib
China and Russia will help NK get around the sanctions.
SuperLib
You have no evidence that Mueller is acting unprofessionally. That's something the right wing media planted in your head without you realizing there is no verification of anything.
rlperez@hotmail.com.au
I, again, point out that the only nation to have used a nuclear weapon has been the US. What the US wants is for all nations except themselves to denuclearise so that there is less resistance to US world domination. The US will do anything, including starting a nuclear war, to maintain its domination. Trump is giving the Australian PM Turnbull his orders. Now Turnbull will have to supply more troops to support US aggression, buy more US arms to support the US economy and allow more US bases in Australia. Turnbull is Washington’s poodle.
bass4funk
Or this witch hunt, I hear ya.
Yup.
To the left, it doesn’t, but in reality, it’s crystal clear.
mukashiyokatta
What is there left to sanction? Sounds like just empty talk to me.
Ganbare Japan!
@ Serrano - Yes, so true. All those "leaders" did was appease North Korea and allow them to become as powerful as they are today, with military hardware and nuclear weapons. Liberals just cant accept this.
Trump and Abe-san, USA and Japan, on the other hand, the only two standing up to the big bullies like NK, China and Russia. Furthermore, Michael Pence has shown himself to be a "man of steel" over there in Korea, refusing to even acknowlege the NK Kim puppets. he stared the down, and they backed off. Trump and Abe-san are as tough as they come, have always been up for a fight, and will never, ever back down. Bring it on.
Toasted Heretic
Astounding how some people are literally looking for a fight.
I wonder will the pro-war types be first in the queue to enlist?
Meanwhile, I have a horrible feeling that the people will be starving as the govt pours more money and resources into the military.
And I could be talking about the poor in either country involved in this strutting peacock fight.
bass4funk
A lot us served, will served or have family members that are on active duty.
One can only hope.
Hmmmm....
Toasted Heretic
And? Are you going to join in the slaughter of innocents?
You hope that money that should go to hospitals, schools and the poor should be used to make more people starve?
Hmmm, indeed.
bass4funk
Has nothing to do with doing your duty as a soldier. If Kim and the US go to war, of course innocent people will die, sad, but this has happened over thousands of years and will continue on until the las people stand. If I’m called to go there on the ground to cover a story like that, I would go.
I want a strong military, very strong one. We will always have enough food to take care of our people and the poor, the Dems will see to that.
He wasn’t the only President that didn’t serve and what difference does it make. The left can keep making that argument as the right did about the other President that didn’t serve. When you are the commander-in-chief, you have the military at your disposal and if they are called upon, that is your right and duty to keep this nation as well as our allies safe and all the rhetoric talk from the left won’t help
Toasted Heretic
In other words, meh, people are going to die, deal with it? But you won't be actually serving. You'll be there on the sidelines with your accreditation, right?
Neither the Dems or Repubs care about the poor. And one day, the poor will rise. No wonder you want a strong military!
Tommy Jones
Crystal clear that of Trump does get done for obstruction it is because he chose to obstruct. Nobody forced his hand.
Tommy Jones
Except that Clinton had inspectors on the ground in the DPRK.
Tommy Jones
You serve? If not, you have no right to use the word "us" in that sentence.
Not even the same thing as serving. Journalists have the ability to not go on patrol, leave, etc. Not even close.
Then why are there hungry people in the US now?
It is the president's duty to keep the country safe, it's not his right. Rights and duties are different things. Good grief, Charlie Brown!
bass4funk
I’m a bigger target with “Press” written on it. I’m. Ore than doing my job.
Yes, to your first question and No, to your second.
If that indeed is the case, but judging by the evidence so far, that charge would be less than a ham sandwich.
You do not get to tell me or define the very definition.
More complicated than that.
Why are there hungry people all across the globe?
Agreed and If the Dems wouldn’t try to block him at every turn, he might be able to do that, but when the left start feeling empathy for the guy in NK we are inching closer to that hammer and sickle.
Toasted Heretic
But you haven't served. The best war journalism I read was Michael Herr's Dispatches.
And as worthy as some journalists are - they are not serving.
No, sorry. I'm not going to just deal with it. I'm going to oppose this insane rush for a war that its supporters will sit out in their comfortable lives thousands of miles away.
And if you do go to the conflict, embedded or not, you will not be engaging the enemy. You'll be on the sidelines. Although you won't even achieve that if you don't have accreditation.
