cant even announce that a shipwreck was found without following "the science".
Come on man, you either found a ship or you didnt.
Its either James Cooks' ship or its not.
its not complicated enough to require a "scientific process".

To be fair they did not find the Endeavour, what they found were the remains of the Lord Sandwich.
The Australian researchers are excited but the American researchers are not as impressed with a decaying sandwich.

The Rhode Island Marine Archaeology Project claims the wreck in question hasn't been positively identified as the HMS Endeavour / HMS Lord Sandwich. They claim identification is not confirmed and it might not be the ship they are looking for. There is more than one wreck down there. Their contract apparently required that no one release information until everyone was satisfied they have truly identified the right wreck.
