If you criticize Trump, you are pro-China...if you criticize China, you are pro-Trump...

No, you can criticize both, but never lose sight that this virus originated in China.

Or that Trump ignored it, then downplayed it, then went and played golf, then did five rallies, then said it was contained, the said it would disappear, etc., etc., etc.....

Which must cause Trump a lot of headaches as he rails against them while selling Chinese-made ties and shirts on his Trumpstore website...

That was stopped awhile back.

What? I guess you haven't visited the Trumpstore site lately. Just $125 each...haven't you bought yours yet?

https://www.trumpstore.com/collections/men-accessories

Maybe that's why he has insomnia...

...or maybe because the Democrats are so frustratingly annoying to him.

Sure, couldn't be that 90K Americans are dead....

The limited, two-dimensional, binary world of Trump and his supporters...

It’s not even ”pro China” as these same posters criticize the WHO and China in every other article that is unrelated to the USA.

if the EU or Australia or Japan want an investigation, full support. If USA want it, just Trump trying to ”distract” from (insert nonsense). So fine let by other country find out what happened. Then no complaints necessary.

Atleast it's easy to see which poster are pro China and anti America.

That is and was Lenin’s take on what Communism is supposed to be and it never worked out like that.

Marx, actually. Lenin was just expaning on Das Kapital.

Say liberals that want the world to adopt socialism, but would shoot you dead if you ask them to borrow a dime.

Once again, a nonsensical statement with zero basis in reality.

May I recommend a refresher course in basic ideologies and, aforementioned, reality.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Back on topic please.

The WHO is a puppet of China because it followed the footsteps of the USA .

Proof? America have a flourishing diplomatic relations with Beijing BUT adamantly refuses to have one with da-kine democratic ‘friend’ and ‘ally’ Taipei!

Therefore the WHO is just following the leader in Washington by the name of you know who!

2 ( +2 / -0 )

They use a model that encompasses both capitalism and a very skewed take on the tenets of communism.

For the elites, not for the masses though. This is why so many Chinese athletes and celebs try to move to the US because a very, very large portion of their earnings is taken away from them, so in other words, they’re penalized for making money and the State confiscates it. Pure textbook Marxism.

But actual communism is based on the workers having control of the means of production,

That is and was Lenin’s take on what Communism is supposed to be and it never worked out like that.

and freedoms from the boss class hierarchy.

They're not even allowed dissent. Which is far worse.

Evidently not.

Say liberals that want the world to adopt socialism, but would shoot you dead if you ask them to borrow a dime.

They use a model that encompasses both capitalism and a very skewed take on the tenets of communism.

It’s not worth trying to explain this. Certain people clearly haven’t looked at how China has changed from Mao to Xi and how the even the CCP don’t emphasize the tenets of communism the way they used to. The fact that China has the second highest number of billionaires in the world makes it more difficult to decry capitalism these days.

Doesn't need any life-support - it has a life all its own, thanks to the Purtin/Trump mutual admiration society.

Debunked? It's verified each time Trump opens his mouth...and Putin speaks...

China doesn't have that. Not in practice.

Evidently not.

You can even google it, even Chinese that live abroad call their country a communist nation. Why is it that liberals think the rest of the world is blind to what Communism is?

Trump insinuates the U.S. may bring its annual share of $450 million down to $40 million, one tenth, while Xi told China will provide $2 billion over two years to help affected countries combat COVID-19. The $2 billion aid is 50 times more than Trump’s $40 million. Well, whose contention is more appealing to the world?

Remember, though, that the current WHO general assembly is not a political arena for debating financial matters. The most important and urgent business for world leaders right now is to find a way to contain the pandemic right away and eradicate it forever.

Also, the people you call dump Trump supporters didn't take any disinfectants into their bodies.

Part of the thanks for this has to go to medical professionals who immediately got onto the air and social media to tell people not to do this. The companies manufacturing disinfectants also put out warnings. Health lines received calls from people asking about this ‘cure’.

There are not so smart people out there and very frightened ones. It was lucky nobody died.

Gross stupidity on the part of Trump. His mess had to be cleaned.

Beijing has been "transparent" throughout the coronavirus crisis

Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

Trump attacked the United Nations health body as a Chinese "puppet" on Monday and confirmed he is considering slashing or canceling U.S. support.

China is not a communist country.

Yes, they are. Or are they the Chinese Capitalist Party?

I've posted numerous links over the years as to the differences between communism, socialism, anarchism, conservatism, liberalism, totalitarianism, authoritarianism.

We all know the difference. You can even google it, even Chinese that live abroad call their country a communist nation. Why is it that liberals think the rest of the world is blind to what Communism is?

Ask Hong Kong what they think the mainland is, I assure you the big “C”would come out of their mouths.

1 ( +5 / -4 )

"They're a puppet of China, they're China-centric to put it nicer," he said at the White House.

The outstanding President of the US, more outstanding than any other in the history of mankind, is correct.

How dare The WHO be a puppet of China, they should be the puppet of US!!!

There can only be one kind of puppet and that is the puppet of the US.

Any other kinds of puppets should be made illegal!!!

4 ( +6 / -2 )

Toasted Heretic, I don't agree with you on pretty much anything, but I do think you're right that China isn't communist in the true sense of the word, not anymore anyway. I'd say they're a malevolent fascist dictatorship. I think true communism is an impossible fantasy the ignores human nature and every attempt at it at a government level turns out like China, the USSR and the like.

But whatever form of government exists by name in China right now, they're responsible for their whole virus mess and must foot the bill for cleaning it up, no strings attached. But we both know that won't happen...

Chinese law professor Xu Zhangrun, lectures at Beijing's Tsinghua University

"They all blithely stood by as the crucial window of opportunity to deal with the outbreak of the infection snapped shut in their faces, the cause of all of this lies with the Axlerod (Xi Jinping) and the cabal that surrounds him."

Xu was subsequently placed under house arrest…….

Full text: Speech by President Xi Jinping at opening of 73rd World Health Assembly…..

https://www.globaltimes.cn/content/1188716.shtml

This one sentence sums up the false, misleading trickery ……

China supports the idea of a comprehensive review of the global response to COVID-19 after it is brought under control to sum up experience and address deficiencies. This work should be based on science and professionalism, led by WHO and conducted in an objective and impartial manner.

The language and tone, a duplicitous deception. The diction, the vague and ambiguous use of the verb support in sole reference to the global response. in essence blocking a formal investigation.

Finally, the political tactical stalling strategy - after it is brought under control to sum up experience and address deficiencies

It is time to stand up to this autarchic Dictatorship, the Government of China mendacious knavish ruthless opportunism.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Let's also remember that Trump thinks those who recognize that the deaths caused by hydroxychloroquine makes it a dangerous drug are 'not Trump fans'

Yes, both China and the WHO weren't perfect in their response to Covid19, but they both got more things right than wrong, and recognized most of what they were wrong on and changed that to get them right as the evidence turned up. Can anyone honestly say that about Trump (on ANYTHING)?

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Ok. Educate me.

I've posted numerous links over the years as to the differences between communism, socialism, anarchism, conservatism, liberalism, totalitarianism, authoritarianism.

Which always end up getting dismissed, ignored, deleted or the thread closed.

Communism is very far removed from what China currently experiences under the Xi cult of personality.

China arrested and disappeared physicians and others who attempted to raise the alarm. Western journalists were kicked out of the country. And of course you have our very own JT posters going after who? Why Trump of course!

This is deceitful.

I and several other posters mentioned the disappearances of those brave doctors on numerous occasions.

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

Good.

Why is it good that your leader sends out mixed messages?

China lit the fuse.

The US funded the laboratory.

SimondBToday  06:47 am JST

And just on that note, the US has sadly due to leadership incompetence, had more deaths then China had total cases.

Given all China's obfuscating and bullying of dissent so far, what are your grounds for believing the CCP is telling the truth about China's numbers of infected and dead? Save your rage for the real criminals here - Xi and his CCP cronies.

0 ( +2 / -2 )

Also, the people you call dump Trump supporters didn't take any disinfectants into their bodies. They were smart enough to grasp Trump's meaning.

Actually the calls to poison controls centers went up nationally after the infamous disinfectant declaration, meaning a portion of the population did take it seriously.

1 ( +4 / -3 )

How disingenuous. What about the ethnic han chinese who live under brutal communist rule? Identity politics governs your whole perception.

China is not a communist country.

This is disingenuous of you.

Political ignorance taints your whole output.

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

Does Xi take us all for fools? He is lying through his teeth with every breath he takes. The CCP destroys evidence and disappear people who threaten to tell the truth, and then have the hide to call themselves transparent?

Critics say that Trump, who himself had earlier praised China's response, is trying to divert attention from his own handling of the pandemic in the United States, which has suffered by far the highest death toll.

Trump's inconsistency notwithstanding, shouldn't critics be turning their attention to China's behaviour here? If China had been honest and done the right thing, the word wouldn't be in the predicament in the first place. Talk about distorted priorities.

And all of what China proposes to offer in the article is so obviously a honey trap that any person or nation that fails to see it or actively ignores it is foolish best, and makes one wonder if the CCP was quite happy for this to happen from the get-go. Once the virus is out and the psychological and economic damage is done, they swoop in to offer assistance, all with a very big price tag they neglect to disclose up front. Like resource access at low prices, military bases and the like. Vaccines that are as faulty and dangerous as their second-rate personal protective gear.

And for countries that decline this generosity? Threats of trade sanctions, which drive down the value of local companies (think Australian beef and barley) that CCP-allied companies can come in and buy at distressed prices. Watch carefully. That Confessions of an Economic Hit Man was a rank amateur compared to the vultures in the CCP.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

With the world racing to find a drug to stop the pandemic, Xi pledged Monday to make any potential vaccine developed by China a "global public good" once it was put into use.

A great idea, truly humanitarian. Sadly, Anglo-American pharmaceutical companies are refusing an EU proposal for a voluntary patent pool, just as they did 25 years ago with AIDS drugs, because they want a monopoly and the vast profits that will bring.

It seems the pharmaceutical companies are working hard to prevent any global pooling of research. The Chinese offer to make any drug or vaccine they develope a good for the world is to be applauded.

@Zaphod

China that a short while ago Trump praised for their transparency and the way they handled the outbreak or corona virus.

--You have a source for that, or is that just fertile imagination?

“China has been working very hard to contain the Coronavirus. The United States greatly appreciates their efforts and transparency. It will all work out well. In particular, on behalf of the American People, I want to thank President Xi!

--Donald J. Trump on Twitter, January 24

"I just spoke to President Xi last night, and, you know, we're working on the — the problem, the virus. It's a — it's a very tough situation. But I think he's going to handle it. I think he's handled it really well. We're helping wherever we can."

--Donald J. Trump in North Carolina, February 7

“Just had a long and very good conversation by phone with President Xi of China. He is strong, sharp and powerfully focused on leading the counterattack on the Coronavirus. He feels they are doing very well, even building hospitals in a matter of only days … Great discipline is taking place in China, as President Xi strongly leads what will be a very successful operation. We are working closely with China to help!"

--Donald J. Trump on Twitter, February 7

"Late last night, I had a very good talk with President Xi, and we talked about — mostly about the coronavirus. They're working really hard, and I think they are doing a very professional job. They're in touch with World — the World — World Organization. CDC also. We're working together. But World Health is working with them. CDC is working with them. I had a great conversation last night with President Xi. It's a tough situation. I think they're doing a very good job.”

--Donald J. Trump to reporters, February 7

"I think China is very, you know, professionally run in the sense that they have everything under control," Trump said. "I really believe they are going to have it under control fairly soon. You know in April, supposedly, it dies with the hotter weather. And that's a beautiful date to look forward to. But China I can tell you is working very hard."

--Donald J. Trump on Fox Business, February 10

“China seems to be making tremendous progress. Their numbers are way down. … I think our relationship with China is very good. We just did a big trade deal. We’re starting on another trade deal with China — a very big one. And we’ve been working very closely. They’ve been talking to our people, we’ve been talking to their people, having to do with the virus.”

--Donald J. Trump at Coronavirus Task Force press conference, February 29

China lit the fuse.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

The only explanation is the WHO and it’s leadership are putting the interests of the ChiComs over its mission.

That's not exactly the only explanation. Another explanation would be that China is too powerful and Xi too much of a big baby.

If the WHO, who has no power of authority over any country or leader, had done anything that goes against China's will at the beginning of this crisis (for example : recognized Taiwan as a country, sided with them and invited them to the WHO table), Xi would have immediately left the WHO, cut off his funding, closed the country to all WHO doctors and refused to share any data about the disease, leaving the WHO -and the rest of the world- with nothing to work on a research and a potential vaccine. It would have delayed the world response by weeks and made the whole situation that much worse. This is the big problem when you put men-children with autocratic tendencies as leaders of superpowers. They immediately sulk and throw tantrums when you do anything that they don't like.

But of course you will never hear this narrative on right-wing media, because scapegoatingan organization that has done nothing but save lives in the past 70 years is much easier than analysis and intelligible thought.

China is killing the US in this public relations battle, even in NATO countries.

All the more reason to cut ties or at least limit funding.

For the simple reasons that none of the facts are in America’s side.

Yes, they are, it’s not over, they’re still investigating.

Even Fauci and Trump-appointed CDC director Redfield have both trashed Trump’s absurd lies about China, while the US intelligence community has poured cold water on Pompeo’s conspiracy theories aimed at starting a new Cold War.

The crooked WHO should have declared a pandemic far earlier, and recommended all nations go into lockdowns, to cease all travel, distributed test kits and so on. The smart scientists were all advising lockdown, while the WHO was adopting a "Nothing to see here" attitude in January, stating "there is no evidence of human to human transmission". Disgusting.

Disband the WHO permanently, prosecute Tedros, and cease all relations and trade with Communist China.

Do not compromise with China. It is very dangerous to let barbarous and uncivilized China prevail on earth. They dream the revival of "Great China." Their mentality remains the same centuries ago. Keep it in mind that nobody wants to immigrate to China while many want to go and live in U.S. Even leaders and riches of China want to send their sons and daughters to U.S. colleges.

"This JT poster thinks China's responsible for unleashing the virus; Trump's responsible for being so slow in taking action to limit its spread and for overseeing the bungling of responses."

The virus came from China. The only question is whether it was made in a lab or a natural mutation. Upon hearing of the outbreak, President Trump wanted to halt all travel to China but was called a racist by Democrats in the States and posters on this site. The JT poster quoted above appears to know little about how the US government works as governors make the day-to-day decisions regarding how to handle the CCP virus. The president does not have the authority to tell states how to operate, when to open or shutdown or to ban people from work. And it should be noted that Jing Juan Teng is one of the mouthpieces for the CCP which further undercuts the reliability of the article.

-3 ( +6 / -9 )

And of course you have our very own JT posters going after who? Why Trump of course!

Once again framing the issue as China or Trump.

Both China and Trump need to be 'gone after'. Except of course to those dwelling in Binary-land.

WHO and Ghebreyesus are strangely supplicant to China. They pay a small fraction of what the US and Europe do but are somehow able to exclude Taiwan from participating in an organization meant to be for the good of everyone. Taiwan has done a great job in responding to the virus. It’s nonsensical exclude them. The only explanation is the WHO and it’s leadership are putting the interests of the ChiComs over its mission.

Whats to defend? China unleashed a horrible virus on the world and said nothing until it was too late.

Seems like a-lot of Asian governments operate that way.

-2 ( +9 / -11 )

Nutshell. Trump's bungling has caused thousands of deaths and damaged the US economy, maybe permanently.

Not true, the governors are the ones destroying the country by not allowing people to get back to work, this helps Trump significantly.

Unless a Democrat can be elected to replace him and once again have to rescue the economy from Republican failures. See Bush 43 - Obama.

That won’t happen because for one thing since people can’t work and we already passed to relief packages and now wanting a 3rd, there won’t be money left. Democrats don’t believe in cutting taxes, don’t believe in deregulation, don’t believe in giving incentives to to small businesses or protect American workers, they’re more worried about illegals, wanting illegals to not be deported, want illegals to receive employment benefits, again, it won’t happen.

Xi has to take responsibility for his role in this.

That goes beyond saying.

Trump does too. But both 'leaders' will continue to say 'not responsible'. At least Trump can be voted out.

Hard with his rising approval.

Chinese President Xi Jinping said Monday Beijing has been "transparent" throughout the coronavirus crisis,

Ha ha ha ha .. biggest joke of the 21st century. ... If you do not believe you will be put into a jail for ever in an unknown place.. Chinese citizens receive it in this way.... Hello you stupid Mr.Xi.. The entire world is not under your iron fist.

offered to share a vaccine as soon as one was available -- as well as $2 billion in aid.

here goes the Chinese business and backdoor entry. Hello Xi, We have seen it in your foreign aid to African nations , Latin American and poor Asian nations. Once you pay money aid that country is under mortgage of China. Or your colony. WHO will be a dog for you forever...........Making the vaccine and selling it for money or exchange ( forcing to buy HUAWEI telecom, or buying the stock and shares of those countries) other properties is your usual practice.

As everything else Trump has done has failed we can expect to hear increasing hysteria from now to November 3rd about how bad China is and how tough Trump is on them.  This would be the same China that a short while ago Trump praised for their transparency and the way they handled the outbreak or corona virus.  He will try to convince his supporters that the Covid outbreak and chaotic handling of it in the US was all China's fault and if not for him millions would have died.  And I'm betting his supporters will embrace and parrot this newly created reality.  Also expect to see attacks, verbal and physical, on any one of Chinese origin (or even looking oriental) living in America.

And just on that note, the US has sadly due to leadership incompetence, had more deaths then China had total cases.
