What can one say except the devastation will continue until the terrorists are pushed out.

17 ( +23 / -6 )

The Russian terrorists. Russia isn't pushing anyone out.

13 ( +21 / -8 )

Because that’s what one does, she’ll the evacuees of a flood you caused, when one is a fascist state.

10 ( +16 / -6 )

As for the dam, everyone knows Russia wasn't responsible even though a lot of people in the West will say Russia was responsible because that's what the government and press want them to think. Welcome to capitalism in the West, circa 2023. Trotsky demonstrated that within the shackles of capitalism, society couldn't go any other way.

It's only a question of how much autonomy from NATO the regime was afforded. Did NATO directly order it? Did NATO indirectly suggest it? Did some of the furthest of "far right activists" take the initiative? Personally I can't believe the 3rd of those at all. They are never afforded that much freedom. NATO carefully supervises them.

Once this is all over, it should be a century, at the minimum, before Russia should even be considered for a return to the civilised world. They deserve to be a a pariah state for many generations to come.

Trotsky demonstrated that within the shackles of capitalism, society couldn't go any other way.

You do realise that Russia is capitalist as well, right?

19 ( +21 / -2 )

What kind of person shells people trying to escape from floods?

14 ( +19 / -5 )

Once this is all over, it should be a century, at the minimum, before Russia should even be considered for a return to the civilised world.

The "civilized world"? What part of the world is "civilized" and who decided the rest is "uncivilized"?

-16 ( +7 / -23 )

With Putin and his band of military and private army criminals, it's just one war crime after another...

They've been checkmated on the battlefield for over a year - and have been forced to retreat in several areas...

Now he's resorting to eco-terrorism....

The charge sheet at The Hague for this 21st century Stalin will be long indeed...

13 ( +19 / -6 )

I just wish they would stop.

Stop invading or stop being invaded? How do you want Ukraine to stop being invaded?

Maybe you can just wish the invasion away.

15 ( +20 / -5 )

The "civilized world"? What part of the world is "civilized" and who decided the rest is "uncivilized"?

Part that is waging a war of aggression in which it commits deliberate mass murder against the civilian population, destroys cities, kidnaps children en masse, does everything it can to spread misery outside its borders and also within them = “uncivilized”.

Other part = “civilized”.

"Ukrainian authorities have largely kept quiet about recent development on the battlefield"

Let's do a battlefield update:

Dated 7th June, a series of UAF armoured columns got hit hard and repulsed SE of Orhkiv trying push through the contact line south towards Tokmak (accurate coordinates 47.496465, 35.932047).

The Russia MOD has published videos of the encounter. They also published a 3 minute interview with the group commander of Russian forces on the Zaporizhia front, Lt General Alexander Romanchuk, who describes what happened and also mentions he spoke with Putin after.

Also includes the first indisputable evidence of Leopard 2 tanks destroyed or knocked out (the German media is covering it, as it's their tank of manufacture).

And just to rub it into the Germans, they also published video of the of a kamikaze drone strike on the radar of an IRIS-T SLM air defense system.

CNN's headline is "*Ukrainian forces suffer ‘stiff resistance’ and losses in assault on Russian lines*".

-14 ( +7 / -21 )

You do realise that Russia is capitalist as well, right?

Yes. If or when Russia triumphs over these crazed psychopaths, in some years Russian society will become just as rotten. In theory at least. Capitalism anywhere doesn't exist in a bubble. What happens in one capitalist state affects another.

It's interesting when Putin last met Xi, at the joint press conference he was asked about the strength of Russian-Chinese relations. He replied, "very strong but we both know and discussed what kind of society we live in." i.e. If or when we prevail over these crazed psychopaths, aka "the civilized world" capitalism will eventually compel us to be at each others throats. Both are on record of having studied Marx's basic analysis.

-20 ( +4 / -24 )

When trying to argue that Russia is civilised we have only recourse to the argument that the rest of the world is not, undermining the whole concept of "civilisation" in the process. This is the nihilism that Russia preaches and demonstrates on a daily basis. Russia leads on a race to the bottom, as do many of its supporters. Ideally, we should show how Russia is leading the way to a better future but few can imagine that.

13 ( +19 / -6 )

Yes. If or when Russia triumphs over these crazed psychopaths, in some years Russian society will become just as rotten. In theory at least.

It already is. It's one of the most corrupt countries on earth. Civil liberties are also highly, highly repressed there as well.

Zelensky finally realized he needed to pivot to victim here not just his military gleefully announcing all the dead Russians this flood caused.

-16 ( +7 / -23 )

It demonstrates beyond question the inhuman and morally bankrupt nature of the regime, society, culture and people of this aberrant and brutish empire.

No one but a sick psychopath would order or obey an order to murder civilians struggling to escape a flood. But murdering, torturing and raping civilians is just standard operational procedure for russia’s armed rabble.

Thanks for update since we dont read here about UA "advances, victories and progress" of their "spring offensive".

3 things we can say about the much vaunted "spring offensive".

一 The commander of Ukrainian might love his swastika decorated gold and diamond bracelet but he didn't want his "kameraden" to charge into suicidal attacks. Thus he has been sidelined, is probably under arrest if he hasn't already been executed.

二 It obviously turned into a summer offensive.

三 The vaunted Leopard tanks burn just as well as all the other "game changers".

-15 ( +8 / -23 )

Please let me share a quote from Wagner boss about these videos from the MoD.

*"The Russian Ministry of Defence has today posted some impressive work by [its troops]. he footage clearly shows Leopard tanks moving in a strange tactical manoeuvre towards each other. These tanks are disguised as combine harvesters. Their muzzles are bent downwards. This did not prevent our [troops] from discerning enemy equipment in them. These [Ukrainian] b**s have learned to disguise their tanks as harvesters, and their crew as farmers. Thanks {Russian troops] for your fine work. Now we will destroy anything with a bent muzzle.' *

I saw some videos of burned Leopards but I think Russians did not buy any from reich yet...so confused

Zelensky finally realized he needed to pivot to victim here not just his military gleefully announcing all the dead Russians this flood caused.

Or maybe it's an ongoing crisis, so the number of dead is unknown?

2 ( +10 / -8 )

The "spring offensive" has turned into a figurative and literal minefield.

Ukraine has already lost 10% of its offensive force in a very poorly led operation (with no air support) to appease Biden.

A ceasefire (note that does not mean surrender) is needed to save thousands of Ukrainian lives.

-6 ( +7 / -13 )

Here is a shortened video on Twitter of part of the June 7th battle.

For the record, this is 38 seconds long - for some unknown reason whoever posted it cut the last 12 seconds, which shows the results of groups of vehicles blundering into minefields.

While searching for the full video this will have to do, sorry.

Is this from the same Russian MOD who said that they blew up a Leo II when in fact it was a John Deer Planter?

6 ( +12 / -6 )

It’s clear who blew up the dam.

The Ukrainians send supplies to the victims and the Russians drop bombs on them.

5 ( +13 / -8 )

I found the full video of the counter offensive from June 7th released.

It includes a brief part at start showing a column of vehicles, plus the ending which wasn't in the last link as mentioned.

Just hit play.

Another day and more war crimes by Russia.

I stopped counting, because it's going into the thousands.

Shooting and shelling rescue workers.

Trying to kill more innocent civilians.

Make them pay for all this!

Ukraine prevails!

Putin fanboys after watching 16 months of non-stop disaster for the Russian army, thousands of Russians tanks and armored vehicles visually confirmed to have been destroyed.

"Everything going according to plan, Russia is totally winning this one."

Putin fanboys 5 seconds after seeing a single clip of a Ukrainian Leopard tank getting hit.

"War is over, Ukraine lost so badly you wouldn't even believe it! Nobody could ever sustain such losses and keep on fighting."

2 ( +9 / -7 )

The results are in from the big push into Zaporizhzhia yesterday. 30 NATO tanks, 130-150 NATO APCs and about 3100 Ukrainian and NATO soldiers sent to practice their sieg heil with Bandera. Videos are already out of American and British mercenaries being treated for severe injuries.

On the Russian side, unfortunately 70 soldiers killed. Decent society needs Russian losses to go to zero but still, the days work is about as good as gets considering the forces arrayed against them.

-10 ( +5 / -15 )

You gave Russia 9 months for its Bakhmut offensive. But now less than a week for Ukraine, apparently. I get you want it to be over badly, but let's wait and see.

it seems that so called spring offensive have ended earlier than even started...even with full support of west, related media machine and "wunderwaffen" from bundeswehr stock...did work well.

7 ( +11 / -4 )

Sven,

I strongly assume you got your information concerning those tanks, APCs etc directly from PUTAin or any of his associates. How about wait, watch, and see what's really going on. Oh, and by the way, Russians are retreating all over the occupied places. Got to wonder why!

Ukraine prevails!

6 ( +14 / -8 )

@rainyday There is no doubt about it, Russian forces were poorly prepared and very poorly led when they invaded.

They are well led, well trained now and have superior equipment while the Ukrainian forces are being pushed into losing situations by their political leader at the behest of Western political leaders who don't really care how many Ukrainian soldiers are sent to their deaths.

-7 ( +7 / -14 )

Sven

Let me tell the you the fact, if US and/or UK forces entered into the Ukraine conflict, they would be utterly annihilated. There is no doubt at all. If all of NATO intervened, they might be able to overwhelm the Russians with human waves but even that's unlikely. And most of Europe won't dare directly send their armies to fight the Russians.

You're on a roll with the humour today!

"Ukrainian authorities have largely kept quiet about recent development on the battlefield"

Yeah, their counteroffensive failed miserably. They don't want people to know about it, as this would affect future support. Their blowing up the dam was probably to distract from their counteroffensive failure.

-5 ( +8 / -13 )

Russian forces on Thursday shelled a southern Ukrainian city that was inundated in a catastrophic dam collapse, forcing a suspension of some rescue work hours after President Volodymyr Zelenskyy traveled to the area to assess the damage.

And who destroyed the dam?
