He also signed an executive order that proclaimed all federal and state flags across the U.S. to be flown at half-mast in the Pope's memory.

It's a good thing Trump isn't being inaugurated this week or flags would have to be raised to full staff since he is the only person that matters (he signed an Executive Order regarding this).

Article? Barely

It's just a comment for Picture of the Day. It isn't an article.

Now every middle income earners and low income people will suffer the consequences as prices for everything will rise. I for one am glad because it’s these same low income and middle income earners who put Trump into power so they should feel the consequences!

Unfortunately, there are MANY low and middle income earners, including me, that DIDN'T vote for Trump and are suffering because of him and the cult commonly referred to as the Republican Party. Although painful, my family and I should be positioned to survive his idiotic policies. I, for one, like seeing the country go down the drain and hope that we see Stagflation so we can get the MAGA cultists out of office starting in 2026.

Thought the vaccines were for viruses. Introducing spike proteins and all that. Here, we're talking about a bacterial infection. How do vaccines apply here?

Bacille Calmette-Guérin (BCG) is a vaccine for tuberculosis.

TB rate has been steadily rising in the US since 2020. Hmmm, open border started when...?

The US also has a measles outbreak that is likely the result of the influx of unvaccinated people that poured across the border for 4 years.

More like the Anti-Vaxxers led by the Trump, RFK and their conservative minions. Anti-Vaxxers are leading the way to the erasure of decades of greatly reduced infection rates in the US.

Posted in: Trump tariffs to hit Japan's domestic auto output: industry head See in context

What ever is imported slap it with huge import tax, any ( only ) American tourists that visit Japan charge them with a $50 per person administration fee for entering Japan,

Brian Wheway, I would gladly pay $50 to visit Japan if it's to support the Japanese economy. But not because of Trump's tariffs. Why punish Americans that want to spend money in Japan? I would like to travel to Canada and spend money show my support. The more we help the countries that are (or should be) our friends, the better. And hopefully, the pain the US will endure over the next four years will cause enough people to get this idiot out of office.

Posted in: Fed likely to keep rates steady as Trump uncertainty flares See in context

The US is in danger of falling into Stagflation. Inflation will be increasing due to Trump's tariffs which would typically be fought with raising interest rates. But there is also the potential of falling into a recession due to the slowing economy caused by Trump's tariffs. If this happens, monetary policy become ineffective at fixing both at the same time. Same thing happened in the 70s.
