With just over 10,000 fatalities, Japan has suffered fewer deaths than other countries, but has lagged in rolling out its vaccine program and seen a surge in cases in recent weeks.

This mantra shows how arrogant some people are, and makes me want to vomit each time I see it.

Btw: Some third World countries have even fewer deaths, and have done much better in responding to this pandemic than Japan, and we never see them uttering such like the above.

Simple Google Search of a few selected Thirds world countries Corona Deaths as of May 10th

Ghana- 783

Namibia- 691

Ivory coast- 291

Burundi- 6

Western Sahara- 1

Mauritius - 17

If you are in position of power in Japan, and someone doesn't like you. They just find some dirt on you, sprinkle it over you, then they add the famous resign resign mantra on it. You are done!

Am still not a fan of smoking in front of school gates too. Teachers still take frequent smoke breaks, and go to teach with that smoke stench still lingering. I remember at one rural school, Some JHS boys decided to smoke at the school gate too. It does make sense right? Role models!

"Half a loaf is better than nothing" we could say. It's Shocking how slow paced Japan is rolling out these rapid tests. Some developing countries from Africa & Asia have been doing these rapid tests for free at least since last December 2020. The prioritization of making profit is just glaringly evident. Now that these private companies negotiated their cut from the bureaucrats, finally people have an option not to live in fear.

I think this goes down again to that issue of Political correctness, and who said what and to whom.

In Japan being skinny or anorexic means you are sexy as opposed to being Big and Beautiful(BBW).

I have dated Several BBW Japanese, but it goes without say, how much some of them endlessly mentioned to me their weight on a daily basis. It was ok for them to continuously mention it to me, but it was a huge fight if I did mention it too. Political correctness has a thin line for sure!

Is this an attempt to spice up things? All the along the narrative has been Nightlife and Night Clubs are the main agents for the spread of the Virus. Since the night time narrative has been overused now it's time to deploy the Day time one? What a time we are living in now.

Posted in: Vaccines 'encouraged' but not compulsory for athletes at Tokyo Olympics: Coates See in context

Not compulsory, we can't do that," Coates, head of the IOC's Coordination Commission for the Tokyo Games, told reporters in Brisbane.

Am wondering if this will bode well with the Japanese people and government. I wouldn't be Surprised if some athletes will be refused entry into Japan if they aren't vaccinated. Or they will be forced to do so at the entry points. Espec athletes from the so called developing World. Remember IOC is not a country, doesn't own one, and doesn't have any legislative power as to how rules can be enforced. IOC is creating a problem here.

It's also curious that even Japan claims to be in a state of emergency, and have imposed penalties and rules to force bars to close by 8pm, still then there are establishments which are still open after that cut off time. It's not enforced, So to some extent I can't heap the blame on an individual, but the flawed system with a massive stench of hypocrisy.

But unlike other countries that have imposed serious penalties for noncompliance, Japan currently has no penalty for those refusing to cooperate with the requests.

I always find this level of arrogance disgusting. That feeling that we are better than A or B, is what made us do this or not do it. We can mess up as much as we want, and still be better than everyone else.

It's mind boggling.

Everyone is quickly rushing to mention the obvious and forgetting that non- of these your beloved sports is part of the Olympics. NZ non- participation wouldn't be felt any tiny bit. Guess if China/US/Kenya etc pulls out then that will be seismic movement
