RIP young people.
"Couple die on Aomori fishing trip; carbon monoxide poisoning suspected”
"are believed to have died from carbon dioxide poisoning while asleep."
My guess is carbon monoxide poisoning, rather than carbon dioxide poisoning.

The first group is only 108 runners, when they’ve gone they let the next group of runners through and most people just jog from that time. Pretty safe, a few scratches in my son's case. And a great memory to last a lifetime.
The man in the middle counting down when to open the gate was using a crutch early on too. In the video you can see him hobble a bit as he runs away from the entrance.
This year there were two women in the first 108 runners. If they got to the main shrine first then they would be “Fuku-Onna”.

Younger son was very near the gate when it opened and even with the pile-up at the beginning he had a great time running. The first 1,500 runners are selected by drawing numbered straws at midnight and put in groups starting with A group (red straw) at the gate. All good fun.

Posted in: Sign language interpreter at Mandela memorial a fake See in context
I listened to a South African radio station live on the Net this afternoon and they interviewed the sign language interpreter. The interpreter admitted he suffers from schizophrenia and thinks he had an attack during the interpretation. He also thinks it happened at that time because he was so excited at being there. Listening to him during the interview, he had quite a bad stutter too.
