Other people's privacy is their poverty, and surely they want to get paid. Who manages the spy machine?

Posted in: Japan to pay $3.1 bil to relocate U.S. Marines from Okinawa See in context

When two parties are benefiting from a mutually agreed situation, it is normal for both of them to continue investment in its development. This fits everyday situations in business, dinning and human relationships. So, it is no wonder that Japan is contributing 1/3 the relocation cost for this fraction of the US troops.

That is a beautiful sight. The original meaning of the rainbow is one of peace.

There are numerous benefits to this move with little risk. Those living in the Futenma area must be relieved.

If you can handle murderous rage while in a position to do otherwise, then you are PM material.

Posted in: Japan's gaming market is a world apart See in context

The handheld gaming market would be much more profitable for Japan if China did not sell fake PSP machines and hacked software. Japan should negotiate with China to secure monetary returns from the government to pay for all the gaming bootlegs just like the US has done with China for all the movie bootlegs.

Rainy days are clean and refreshing. They wash away the detritus and turn plants green.

Regional and global considerations aside, Japan should not be the weak link in their own self defense.

Posted in: N Korea fumes at Japanese report on first lady's past See in context

There is not enough information to tell whether this was an extreme act of snobbery or defense of virtue. Mrs. Sol-Ju's wearing designer clothes and accessories in a poverty stricken country points probability towards snobbery, but then the improbable lines up on occasion too. If Mr. Jong-Un did not carefully look into the matter before hand, then his leadership ability would have to be seriously called into question as would the stability of North Korea to some degree.

Wolves in sheep clothing reporting on other wolves as they all make money off the culture. Junk.

It is good to see Freshness Burger on the list, but it is still surprising that it is not more popular. It is easily the best western style fast food in Tokyo. The "Classic WW Burger" was always the item of choice for me. In California, In-N-Out would be recommended.

It is good that this has been presented before Congress first. And it will be good if they hold for the UN test results. One has to be sure before using force; anything else would just be irresponsible.

When I read that "U.S. officials conceded on Thursday they lacked conclusive evidence," it makes me think that the US is becoming more discerning and careful in regard to force. That is a significant improvement. Bravo men.

Being the main player in one's self defense would be natural. But the war machine should be both well tuned and tightly managed to keep it effective and from encroaching upon any other nation.

It would be great if Cannon put its expertise behind a product like the security cameras developed by Reconyx. Remote activation, triggering and programmable send/receive signal frequencies would be nice in additions to what is currently offered. Portable stand-alone night-vision units are very useful.

Posted in: WikiLeaks source Manning sentenced to 35 years See in context

35 years. He deserved some punishment for being indiscriminate in what documents he made public. One should not just hand over bucket loads of documents for otheres to see if there is anything bad in there. If it is an action of conscience, then he should have known the pertinent content that raised his conscience and limit release to that. I wonder how the trial would have gone had he used better discretion in what to leak.

Posted in: AirAsia Japan rebranded as Vanilla Air See in context

French Vanilla tastes better. But the name "French Vanilla Air" would not work well for domestic flights in Japan. Maybe they could have called it "Nihon Vanilla Air" and then served French Vanilla ice cream on flights but with little mochi balls in it.
