So there are in fact children that were taken hostage and some whose parents either one or both are dead. What does that say about Hamas that they took these hostages and that it took until now to release them?

It is pretty inexcusable that they'd resort to kidnapping children. In Isreal's case, they will jail literal children just for throwing a stone at an IDF solider, what does that say about them?

Ahh okay, chief. Many men will take advantage of women given the opportunity. Women are prone to be sucked in by fame and flash. That sets up a common situation where the male, for what ever reason, becomes demanding and aggressive when there is a hint the women is no longer interested or getting wary. Then he forces himself on her - she may not always openly reject this, but it's clear to her and him if he cares that she does not want to have sex.

This has happened to me on a few occasions usually after I had a few too many.

It's date rape and many men will admit that they have committed it, possibly unknowingly.

If this has happened to you on a single occasion that should've been your cue to cut alcohol and get some professional help. At least you're honest about doing it (I guess???) but I drink weekly and have never had the urge to do anything of that nature. I think you're blowing out of proportion how many men do this.

Anyway, as I always say, we shouldn't immediately dismiss her. We should hear her out, let both parties present their cases, and go from there. If it turns out to be bogus, it'll be brought to light.

Knowing women and knowing men especially men who are very confident this type of crime happens all the time (have done it myself).

Wait what LOL I'm gonna need you to clarify this one, chief.

Posted in: Qatar says Gaza cease-fire will begin Friday morning, with aid to follow 'as soon as possible' See in context

There is no deliberate killing of a large number of people. If they wanted to deliberately kill large numbers of people they wouldn’t be issuing evacuation orders or having ceasefires. Israel has the capability to completely wipe Gaza off the map and they haven’t.

These people are exactly why Israel does things the way that it does. Could they just bomb everything in one go and be done with it? Of course, but how do you think the entire world would react? Instead, they push it little by little so as to keep people like this from retracting their support. Slowly take Palestinian rights away, prevent them from obtaining the resources they need to create a livable society, thus enticing them to leave the country (then make it illegal for them to come back if they step foot out the country), and you end up with the situation we have now. It's all extremely calculated, but they're pushing it a little more than they should now by outright murdering civilians and using the same lame excuses for it. They also completely dropped the ball on the propaganda war, so everything is spiraling down for them now.

Israel is attacking HAMAS. A terrorist group that started this war by killing and kidnapping Israeki civilians.

Not "the Palestinians".

You must not keep up with Israel's own governmental officials who have repeatedly gone on record comparing all Palestinians to animals and vowing to wipe Gaza off the map. I don't know how much more direct they have to be for you to believe their own words.

Posted in: Israel, Hamas agree on four-day truce, hostage release and aid into Gaza See in context

And as soon as the hostages are released then Israel will double down on their attacks against the Palestinians.

What's funny about that is so many people were saying "Well if Hamas would just give up the hostages and surrender, Israel would stop". Israel has said on multiple occasions that they don't intend to stop, but no matter how explicitly they state their intentions of wiping out the entirety of the region, people ignore it for some odd reason. Maybe it's to cope with the fact that they support those bloodthirsty murderers.

No, but tell me a time in war and in history where children were never killed.

So easy to spout nonsense like this from the comfort of your home while your own family is safe and sound. If your entire bloodline was wiped out by an occupying force you'd be singing a different tune.

False, Japanese citizens commit more crimes than any other group in Japan. The majority of US citizens living in Japan are expats being paid by international companies or military. Both employers do not tolerate crimes abroad and will swiftly punish any criminal acts within reason.

Care to provide any actual evidence on your statement?

I was not talking about Japan.

I never said any such thing, but you cannot deny that having a huge undefended border with a country that is #70 on the gdp per capita list plus all of the poorer countries south of it has at least some effect.

American nationals are responsible for an exponentially larger amount of crime than immigrants, whether legal or not. The "effect" is negligible, no reason to bring it up unless you need to flaunt your racism or you're just misinformed.

The way things in the US are now Donald Trump could shoot someone in cold blood on the street with a hundred witnesses and clear recordings of the incident on a dozen or more closed circuit television cameras and the right wing medial along with the usual wags here would swear the resulting murder conviction was a "witch hunt" and "political".

He said it himself years ago and it's as true then as it is now, sadly.

This war in Israel has turned political. Right versus wrong. Left versus right. The left has gone farther off the cliff when they side with terrorists. They want Israel to sit back and do nothing. The left = antisemitic. Their agenda and narrative is with Hamas.

If you truly believe anyone on either side supports Hamas, you are either engaging in the conversation in bad faith or don't comprehend the nuance that people have explained time and time again. Hamas is bad and so is the Israeli government, but this sentiment does not extend to Jews.

Instead, they cower in their tunnels and make the innocent into unwilling martyrs. Those who condemn Israel, how do you expect the IDF to prosecute the war against Hamas without attacking Hamas where they are, which is in tunnels under hospitals/schools/mosques?

If you read the article, it clearly states that staff denied any allegations of being "unwilling martyrs" and declined claims of tunnels under the hospital, going so far as to extend an invite to anyone who'd like to verify the claims.

The Israel defenders are broken records at this point, parroting the same talking points that have time and time again been debunked. Even the whole beheaded babies thing got debunked and they still bring it up lol.

Biden didn't "ruin" US credit. It's a direct result of Republicans repeatedly trying to shut the government down.

Love watching the complete mess the GOP constantly puts themselves in. They can try to make excuses for it all they want and blame everyone around them, but at the end of the day the average voter only cares about whether things are getting done or not. If all they're seeing is constant bickering and whining, it's not gonna bode well.

Not sure how people fall for the Israeli government's propaganda at this point. They even recently hired a well-known actress to pose as a Palestinian nurse in order to make it seem like Hamas is hoarding supplies away from civilians. They don't bother providing any proof for the claims they make, and despite hospital staff saying they are not human shields and there are no bunkers down there, they just ignore it all and continue killing. The same people that have no issue with this are the ones constantly asking for sources to any small claim, so I'm dumbfounded as to why they make this an exception to their rule.

So, after a month of so-called 'indiscriminate, genocidal' bombing.... Israel has managed to kill 0.2% of the Gazan population. 99.8% are still alive. Even if you use the inflated and bogus figures provided by Hamas. So we can put this shibboleth to rest.

That 0.2% could be the entirety of your family tree, a reality that some Palestinians have had to face. I highly doubt you would be saying these if you were in their shoes. They aren't numbers, they are people. Easy to spout all that rhetoric from the comfort of your home without fear of unwarranted violence from an occupying force.

True that the Hamas cowards wanted hostages. The plan appeared to be to kill the men, rape/kidnap the women, seize the elderly, and the kids seemed to be optional. Enough were tortured to death, or forced to watch their parents die, that the Hamas leaders didn't seem to have a clear plan to deal with them. Not that it really matters. They deliberately avoided confronting the Israeli military and specifically targeted people who could not fight back. Sheer utter cowardice.

They kidnapped people to use as bargaining chips in order to trade them for unfairly incarcerated Palestinians being held in Israel. Is it messed up? Yes, but don't pretend like they only did it out of senseless bloodlust.

Are you seriously saying that Hamas doesn’t use those areas to launch rockets out of? I can find plenty of articles substantiating the use of civilian buildings as launch sites for rockets and Hamas activity. Can you find me any source substantiating your claim that Israel is indiscriminately bombing civilian targets that have no recent Hamas activity?

There are countless videos of these places being bombed, sometimes even when nobody is inside. If you haven't seen a single one by this point you must be browsing with your eyes closed.

This is completely untrue and not based on any type of reality. Also the Gaza Israel situation isn’t apartheid, it’s more akin to a military occupation.

If you have to rely on semantics to downplay the brutal reality of Palestinian existence, you're not exactly making the great point you think you are.

If this was the case why hasn’t Gaza been completely leveled yet? What kind of genocidal regime issues evacuation orders to its enemies? I’m order for this to be true you’d have to be into not only the conspiracy that Israel knew about the initial October attacks in order to respond and that Israel is genocidal but also holding itself back from committing genocide. Is that what you’re saying?

Why isn't it completely leveled? Have you not seen the incredible amount of city blocks that have been completely reduced to rubble?? Yea, genocide isn't genocide if you give the victims a warning. I already addressed why they can't leave, but if you really think telling someone you're going to bomb them without giving them ample time to evacuate isn't genocidal, I don't really know what to tell you. Go shoot someone and try using that excuse in court, "But your honor, I gave him a 5 second head start to run" LOL unreal.

Theres a major difference between the intentional targeting of Civilians that Hamas does and the collateral damage of dead civilians from military strikes that Israel is currently doing

And how many times does the IDF have to bomb schools, hospitals, places of worship, and even refugee camps for you to understand that it's not "collateral damage" but intentional targeting?

Israel doesn't care about stopping Hamas. If they did, they'd grant equal rights to Palestinians and free them from apartheid, it would instantly dissolve Hamas since they're a byproduct of apartheid to begin with. That goes against their plans of reducing the Palestinian population to nothing in order to establish their freak ethnostate, so it's not going to happen. Why do you think Palestinians aren't allowed back in if they ever decide to leave? We're fortunate that we don't have to deal with any such laws, because if we did, I can guarantee all of you "patriots" would be up in arms the same exact way Hamas is.
