*The victim, who had lost consciousness, was then taken to a hospital and was in stable condition on Monday, police said.

I love living in Yokohama, but the longer I read news about this place, the more it seems like the Florida of Japan. lol

Posted in: Trump holds up coronavirus aid to block funding for mail-in voting See in context

cough umm btw... absentee ballots are only ever included in a vote count if the total number of mailed-in ballots exceeds the margin of victory between candidates. Just saying.

Trump stated his position on COVID Aid and Mail in Voting weeks ago. The fact that a Democrat majority house would still conflate the two issues into one bill tells me who is wasting everyone's time. And Republican Mitch Mcconnell is a clown too for thinking that he can pressure the House by saying the Senate is going home in September. If there is one place that electronically mail in vote could effectively be implemented, it would the Congress! No excuse for these clowns to try and get out of a vote.

Also, no mention in the "article" that the bill only appropriates money for mailed-in ballots processing, but no verification. (US ballots are normally signed and that signature is verified against a voter registration card signature.) That is right, all that are received are to be counted IAW the bill. Patricia and David forgot that little gem. Not that JT researched any of that.

And for you JT, your reporting is minimalist, normally incomplete, gained by other sources, presumptive, conjecture in nature, and biased... it is a poor product.

But Trump found it hard to make swift changes. Academics often say that American foreign policy is like an aircraft carrier: easy to order a wholesale change of direction from the bridge but far more difficult and time-consuming to alter course.

I stopped reading this fluff piece here.

What academics?

Why is a Japanese news paper running a DNC fluff piece?

Annnd clearly these people have never driven an aircraft carrier lol

I am speaking out of my profession here, I know, but I think I see an opportunity here.

Why not have the tournament at the new Olympic Stadium that is just sitting there not being used?

The allowances the stadium would offer in regards to physical distancing, open air, are sound if the crowd is sufficiently limited below actual capacity.

The higher volume($$$) of customers that would go. Demand for tickets are always high, and probably higher now because of people looking for an outlet after being for people cooped up for the past weeks.

(Look at the NHL stadium series, and WWE matches held outdoors in the US and Canada as a reference.)

The Olympic Committee, local municipality, and TV infrastructure, gets a test run on the facility.

And market it as a reopening and celebration of Japan and its people!

Japan and its people have weathered through, are still here, strong, ready to pull up our sleeves and get back to work!

I have never been refused a room for being gay... because I am not, BUT I have been refused a room many times for not speaking Japanese, or not speaking Japnese well enough.
