She supports, and protests, for so many good causes.

I am surprised, and honestly not very impressed, that she will go ahead and participate in these Olympics, after so much disrespect from IOC towards her fellow japanese people.

Still time to shine and protest against this event Naomi.

Posted in: 3 weeks before Olympics, Japan still unsure about spectators See in context

Japanese Government has been unsure about everything since the pandemic started.

As a result IOC has made the decisions instead.

Note for the future: being passive is not the way.

One gold medal per each % of the japanese population that was against holding the event this year, and we’re good.

Suga visits Haneda airport for briefing on anti-virus border measures

The kind of thing that should have been done a 1,5 year ago, considering the direct flights from Wuhan.

Now its just theatre, pretending something is being done...

Emperor appears concerned Olympics could spread COVID: official

Could is a very positive way of seeing things.

It is already, and probably not even 10% of the athletes arrived.

Can you just let people be free? Is this country really a democracy?

Always disregarding its’ people’s opinion (e.g Olympics), and not allowing the japanese people to make their own choices and think for themselves.

We tend to forget how similar Japan is to non-democratic countries like North Korea.

First of many, and still a month away from the start of the event.

Good work IOC and Japanese Government.

You saw the cliff from a distance and kept driving in the same direction.

Why?

So sorry to hear that.

Posted in: Tokyo Governor Koike hospitalized due to fatigue See in context

The governor has often worked at her office on weekends to discuss coronavirus measures with senior metropolitan government officials.

Real proof that quantity doesn’t equal quality.

So many months filled with meetings with “experts” and “senior government officials” to end up still going ahead the Olympic Games, against its’ population will and medical associations.

No need to even mention the ridiculous measures that were taken to “curb the virus” during the past year, after so many meetings.

Time to start shifting the mentality of endless long meetings to a more proactive and effective approach.

With all this, wish Koike san a quick recovery.

Good time to reflect on a few things.

Smart move, it would have been immensely disrespectful to the japanese population who has been having restrictions on drinking, on and off, for so long.

Next headline (?):

Tokyo Olympic organizers reverse plan to go ahead with the event.

Never too late to listen to the only experts in terms of pandemics/viruses: the medical ones!

Posted in: WHO to discuss Olympics COVID risks with Japan, IOC See in context

Ryan said Japan's rate of 80 infections per million residents in the past week was much lower than in many other countries.

WHO being politically correct once again instead of doing their job and ask the tough questions.

I have some doubts Ryan believes in what he is saying about Japan.

WHO urgently needs some changes, considering most of their action/inaction during the current global pandemic.

Still deciding on this?

Just do not allow anyone to attend.

Two reasons: the obvious pandemic that was never in control in Japan and, having only one nationally attending an event where supporters from more than 150 countries were suppose to attend?

Slightly awkward maybe?

Conveniently low.

How surprising.

I say in July we’ll be hovering around the 100 mark, to emphasise the “safe Olympics” propaganda that no one believes.

Overall spent less money.

However spent more online when compared with pre-covid times.

Why going to a store and risk getting infected when I can just order online and get it on the same day, or following day?

Of course there are exceptions in which I have the preference to go to the store in person.

Follow the rules when the Olympics open in just over five weeks, or else expect a warning or a fine - or anything in between.

Athletes and their teams, most of them participating in what is probably the only version of the Olympic Games they will be part of...

Good luck convincing them to behave threatening with “warnings” or “something in between”.

Tokyo is a great place to live, however you must work for an international company that has a very flexible working culture when compared to the local one, and with a very generous salary to be able to afford to enjoy life.

If you miss one of those you’ll not be having a good time.

If you have those covered... you’ll have a great time in Tokyo.

Japan is leaning toward allowing domestic spectators at the Tokyo Olympics despite the COVID-19 pandemic

How desperate can you be to recover some of the losses from these Olympic games.

With basically no one vaccinated with both vaccines in Japan, how can you justify this “leaning towards” apart from only an economic view?

LDP and IOC priorities are very clear:

100% Economics

0% Public Health

Members of media from abroad covering Olympics to be tracked by GPS

In simple words, a phone app.

Leave the phone at the hotel and there you go...

Just another “half-measure” to boost confidence/brain wash the japanese people regarding the Olympics to be a “safe event”, with “no risk”.

Thought cannabis oil was already legal in Japan, considering its many proven benefits for some health issues.

Don’t agree with any type of smuggling, but it’s time for the government to look into these alternatives medicines.

Not only for the obvious: public health, but also as they would be able to regulate and tax it.

Wake up call!

Tokyo nightlife bustles despite state of emergency

Government “urges” people to be careful.

Government doesn’t cancel Olympic Games, where thousands of people from more than 150 different countries will be arriving, basically with no quarantine restrictions.

What do you expect young people to do with all this mixed messages and contradiction?
