The tipping point in this case could have been Michael Cohen's testimony about an online tech company called Red Finch. The jury heard defense counsel ask Mr. Cohen about a $50,000 to Red Finch. He admitted to stealing $30,000 of the payment. One for Mr. Trump's team. The prosecutor on cross-examination asked what that payment was for. According to Mr. Cohen, the $50,000 was to boost then President Trump's ratings in an online opinion poll about "History's Most Notable Leaders", a poll unrelated to the election. But the payment to Red Finch may have been enough to shift the jury's thinking about whether Mr. Trump's was guilty or not guilty.

But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

Actually, McCarthy and the rest should be more worried about about Trump will be barred from being on the ballots of some, if not all, states. If successful, perhaps members and candidates running for a House or a Senate seat may be next.
