SERIOUSLY ABE? There are no other priorities to worry about now? Fukushima, child birth rate/aging population/pension system, corruption, aging bridges and tunnels... THIS is what you choose to focus on?

Waste of money that could be used to get America's transportation infrastructure into the 21st century. Better public transportation, fix our roads and bridges, water lines. shoot, I wouldn't even mind oil lines if they were actually maintained / built properly.

That walls gonna have to be pretty tall to stop the 20% of illegal immigrants that come by plane and just overstay their visa.

"Awesome!" More old men wasting their pension (something I'll never get even though I pay a considerable amount of my salary into it)!

I think of that picture of Steve Buscemi where he wears the skater clothes and says "Howdy do, fellow kids."

Do you think dressing up as a beloved character is just going to erase your abysmal performance as PM?

Japan's economy is in shambles. Fukushima disaster still not under control. Thousands of people still living in temp housing. Exploding elderly population/low birth rate. Tensions on the rise with China. Trillions of yen lost out of the pension fund. Debt is 200% of GDP. But, yeah, let's play dress up and be cute.

Why would you go home so soon!? The Olympics are not over yet! Congrats for winning but shouldn't you be hanging with your peers at the most important event of your career?

Posted in: Getting stopped by police in Japan – how often does it happen (and why?) See in context

Can't say I've ever been stopped by Police in Japan before. Been through the check points where they test all of the drivers.

Been here 8 years and have driven by police on my scooter and in my car. Never even been asked for my ID other than one time when I was parked in the city waiting to pick my wife up after work. It was at night and I had been sitting there in my car for about an hour. (wife had to work late) I looked pretty suspicious as it was winter and I had a big neck warmer on and a hat -- wearing both hid my face pretty well. Was just trying to stay warm instead of running the car. They just asked what I was doing and I said I was waiting to pick up my wife and they were like, "OK" and bounced. Not the best police in Osaka but I've never been unfairly targeted.

WHY ARE THESE PEOPLE NOT IN JAIL? Sorry for the yelling but seriously. They're not only allowed to get away with covering up a huge disaster that could have gotten even worse, but they were allowed to make a profit all while taking tax payer money.

I was think about buying one of those Delicas now that I have two children, but with this news I'll pass. I worked for Mitsubishi as a mechanic in the States, being that they were owned by Chrysler at the time (maybe they still are), we rarely had any defects to deal with. Just a lot of normal maintenance.

I doubt Mitsubishi is going anywhere though seeing as they Mitsubishi also has Mitsubishi Heavy Industries.

It's funny how this post is directly above the article about "Decontamination Troops exploited, shunned". Actually. It's not funny. It's sad. Japan is already on path for more disaster, this guy(Abe) wants to accelerate that.

US Police need to take a note from this guy. While Japanese police have a reputation for being useless, this guy subdued a kid instead of sending him to an early grave. Like many others said, if this was in the states, that kid would be in a body bag.
