"China has banned Western entertainment in the past." How stupid is that statement.

China has more western movies than the western has Chinese movies. Hollywood sells more movies in China than any other countries on the planet. No one knows that, except Chinese. To the small mind people, a Park is a kingdom.

Fair and object statement, good job. No one is perfect, no apple is perfect, mistake can be corrected and should be corrected, that is all justice about.

The HK problems are from within. The violent unlawful people are few. They are so provocative because they have support from powerful organizations and govt itself. The HK govt is too weak, so divided, they can't tell the difference between wrong and right, they can't make up mind and cut the cancer tissues off the govt body. No one should above the laws, people should go to jail for criminal acts. Rule of law is democracy, democracy isn't against laws. Without laws there would be no democracy. The govt is law enforcer, and if you fail to do that, you fail to protect people and you fail to protect the true democracy.

Before the law, everyone should be the same. No age difference, no gender difference, no poor or rich, no officials or citizens. If you are a legislator, you will be arrested for breaking laws, if you are a reporter, you will be arrested for breaking laws, if you are a judge, you will be arrested for breaking laws, if you are a teacher, you will be arrested for breaking laws.

Strangerland, 80 million Chinese people died in the past 100 years to have today's new China. They died wearing no maks, they died gloriously, they died so the five star flag can arise, they died publically, they died that 1.4 billion people now have much better life. If you think the pro-democratic rioters have their support, then behave like the one supported by the people of republic China.

semperfi said "The HK residents do not identify with the Chinese totalitarian system - with their group think and the oppression of all freedoms..". Which HK resident ? please identify. Half baked truth is worse than a lie. There are may be a few racists, or Colonizer sympathizers, or traitors said that, but they do not represent HK residents. China represent the biggest democracy in the world, the only nation on the planet raised living standards of 1.4 billion people, if that is the oppression of all freedoms, then let it be. Freedoms of being hangry, freedoms of illness, freedoms of violence, freedoms of racial discrimination, freedoms of lies, are not good things.

zichi, which international law says that your can't have one party domination ? Which democratic standard says that one party is anti-democratic ? As long as you have support from people, than your are democratically elected by people, democratically trusted by people, democratically supported by people.

People's support is the GOLD standard of democracy.

It may take many years, removing Colonial language, Colonial court, Colonial religion, Colonial media, Colonial ideology will take times, my dear. BE PATIENT.
