Would be nice to see a poll in Osaka and another one in Tokyo. Would be night and day.

Posted in: Wine ice cream, maple water: 5 foods of the future? See in context

In Quebec, there is a company of maple water. I heard that their water was really good and they won prices if I think. It looks like nice food, but I'm still fine eating vanilla ice cream with maple syrup.

Posted in: Gackt lashes out at Cool Japan: 'Almost no results of Japanese culture exported overseas' See in context

We had a course about ''cool Japan'' in Joichi last week. Very interesting, but I think the subject is more interesting than what Cool Japan is. I mean, a lot of cool things in Japan are just considered weird oversea. The anime with 12-13 years old girls (pretending to be 20) in bikini doesn't help it. Nor the weird games on tv. But still it's working since a lot of people from the West think that this is actually cool... Like Akihabara, the worst spot in Tokyo, but very famous oversea. I seriously can't go there or my mood is wasted for the day. Oh also, the show about asking gaijins what they dislike and like about Japan... they asked me last year to participate and I never understood the purpose of this show (I don't understand the purpose of 99,99% of what pass on tv here anyway).

''Love'' the fact that they talk about the woman as being monolithic!

Like everyone, I don't like when they just look at our japanese friend when we order, but the service is very good anyway and much better than what I'm used to at home. Like pretty much everything here (supermarket, konbini and so on).

I'm always scared of them. Sometimes they're in the pedestrian allowed side and I don't hear them coming. Something I find terrible here is childs doesn't even wear a hat. When you're 7 years old you MUST wear one.

Posted in: Japanese people aren’t happy with their looks: survey See in context

BTW its interesting to get the same comment by many Japanese, "gaijin have a preference for our ugly woman"...

Maybe it's because they are too shy to talk to gaijin or what they want isn't serious. I prefer a normal woman who's not chasing $$$ over a chix just interested in what I have in my wallet.

Posted in: Japanese people aren’t happy with their looks: survey See in context

Seriously? Everyone here always look at their best. When I first came here, I wasn't caring much about how I was looking because in Canada you look messy most of the time because most of the time we have a lot of winter's clothes. Now, I still feel like I'm not as much at my best as the people here, but I improved I think.

Posted in: Video shows kids reacting to strangers dropping their wallets See in context

Way too cute. Coupe of years ago when I was still in high school in Canada, I found 50$ on the floor. My high school was a small one where you know almost everyone so I didn't want to keep the money so I went to the secretary office and told them that I wanted to give back what I found so if a student come and ask if someone found 50$ then they will just have to give it back to him/her. The girl looked at me like if I was from Mars. She asked me 3-4 times if I was sure and that was after she started to beleive it. It's one of the reasons why I like it here in Japan. A lot of people find it normal (which is) to give back what belongs to someone else.

About the video, if a kid give me back my wallet I would sure give him/her 1000Y or something. I just hope it would be fine since maybe it's not the best thing to do. I mean it's not an act you have to do with the purpose to get a reward, but since my wallet itself is very expensive I think the kid would deserve it.

Posted in: Tourism is an effective way for Japan to pull in the purchasing power of growing Asian markets. Domestic demand is unlikely to gather momentum in the long run as the population declines. See in context

I come here because I like the fact that I'm in security and I don't have to always think about my credit card and 100 000Y in my wallet. I always put my wallet on the table something I wouldn't do anywhere else except maybe in Canada outside of the big cities. Also, I can take a walk at 2-3-4 am and it is still safe. Also, the country is clean and I wouldn't go to a dirty place. I only want to go somewhere as clean as Canada or better.

Posted in: Driver who killed cyclist in crosswalk accident found not guilty See in context

Here, I always look before crossing even if it's green. In Canada I always do that because if I don't I will get hit for sure so I'm doing it too even tho I feel much safer here. If I ever get hit here, they bettter give me more than 300k Y if I have a broken leg or something. On another subject, why they let kids 6-7 years old riding their bike without their helmet?

It looks like fake to me. For the Canadian girl friend, I think I wouldn't blame someone for lying about having a gf from Canada because we're such nice people!

Posted in: Woman gives birth on flight from Canada to Japan See in context

You can be 36 weeks pregnant and still take a flight with Air Canada which is a nonsense. I'm happy that the little baby is safe, but I wonder what the mother was thinking. She's lucky that it didn't happen in Japan because I doubt her insurance would pay.

It's like the agreement with the EU, the milk industry are still angry about it. Anyway I hope mister Fast do whats best for the country and doesn't get influenced. The US has no rights to tell us what to do with Obama as their president and after what he did to Keystone Xl.

I always say I will buy a PlayStation, but finally I enjoy much more playing on a PC or reading a book. I don't think it's a waste of time. When you just read a financial book you can enjoy playing a game for 1 hour and just relax.

Posted in: Shifting currencies shake up tourism landscape See in context

Quebec is trying to use the high USD, but for now there is no impact. Also, with our last 2 Winter, I don't see much Americans coming here. Plus, there will be some ''riots'' in the next weeks/months and no tourists will want to come here! I was afraid that the CAD would be under 90Yen, but hopefully it's not happening. The last months, showed us in Canada that our dollar is a ''petro-dollar''.

Pig are clever animals. Actually, when Hobbes said the man is a wolf, he was not mean to the man, but the animal. In this case, ''waste of skin'' is better.

500 customers couldn't tell the difference between a 14 yo girl and a 19 yo girl? I would charge them for child abuse as well. I would like to say they're animals, but I don't wanna get sued by the animals.

Posted in: 2 pedestrians killed after minivan hits car; driver arrested See in context

In Toronto if you touch the street with your foot almost all the cars on the street will stop. If you're in Quebec and i'ts green you better wait, wait, wait, and wait again because the cars will try to hit you. You can't expect much from the polices they do the same. You can also turn right even if it's red (not in Montreal tho). So I think Japan is pretty much safer.

She can't even make a high school's menu... don't expect much from her.
