Awful, sad.

NRA may now suggest that doctors be armed as well..? And and while we're at it how about the patients, too.

This never ending cycle of violence/shootings is really not a laughing matter but a disgrace.

Almost confused with ALmost. To build a house doesn't require appliances, only after built it.

Oh, Akie. Thank you for that totally nonsensical comment.

Foreign-made cars are absolutely unfairly priced here. No question about it and it's not American cars only. German, French and Italian ones as well.

And it's not only automobiles, either.

Those who disagree with this comment are blind to the fact. Or, don't want to know the truth.

I know, there are 'no' taxes nor tariffs for products coming here but why does everything end up being so crazily marked up?!?!? Try building a house and see what I mean. Foreign made appliances are at least double if not triple priced.

Probably the majority of companies in Japan are guilty, one way or another, of cheating issues.

Let's assume at this point honest ones are the small minority, unfortunately.

Are companies in other countries any better...hmm..?

It would be so very nice to know the truth whether it REALLY is or isn't safe there. It seems impossible to get the facts due to special interests on either side of the issue.

Well, please say. We, your customers, would like to know. The truth, please.

If we die then that’s our problem. It’s our land and home. Nobody or the goverment can force people to go back. It’s the people decision to decide to go back or not.

That's all fine and great but is it okay to put young children in a risky place like that? Why would we put our 'land' over our children in terms of priority?

I sincerely hope the gov. is not playing with people's and especially children's lives. This will be a very sad part of history some day and it will be PM Abe's own doing. DO THE RIGHT THING, Mr. Abe! You CAN still right your wrong but the clock is ticking

Akie

China can bye 1000 nuclear bombs from Russia over night, at $1 billion per head.

If Taiwan traitors threatens China with nuclear wars, let be serious about it and get ready for it.

Your posts are one of the most entertaining and at times ridiculously and blatantly full of every kind of propaganda one can think of, but at times you really creep me out .

China also has dispute with Japan, yet signed peace treaty with Japan 40 years ago. If China can do that, why not Japan ? History doesn't lie and will never lie who is true peace lover and who isn't.

Oh yes, China is a peace-loving nation. And how many countries have they been bullying around and how many false claims of land 'ownership' have they been making? Definitely good at artificial island-building, though. Peace-building is another story.

Some people may 'have been living under a rock' but to those who say this unto others I say, "and what have you been smoking"...?

Seriously, it seems rather sad that people need cannabis to be legalized to be happy.

Free society = happy society.

This particular freedom is of concern, however. Not quite sure all the reasons presented by cannabis supporters justify its legalization.

Already WAY too many drug addicts in the States and I don't know 'bout Canada but probably not far behind.

These great countries will eventually lose the qualities which made/make them 'great'.

Oh, I will surely be expecting a 'few' thumbs downs on this comment, for sure. C'est la vie

Posted in: Not everyone in favor of esports in Olympic fold See in context

Another thing people tend to forget is that being on your phone does not mean you're playing a game. Right now I'm on my phone reading the news, but from just looking at me I'm playing a game.

Yes, I know. It's not only games. It's Line and everything else which consumes WAY too much of young peoples' time. Of course these phones are great tools in so many ways but there are issues with game-holicness affecting too many youngsters' education and 'growth'.

I have no qualms with eSports per se but, in name only is it a sport. It should have it's place for sure but obviously not in the olympics.

Equally concerning for the IOC and broadcasters like NBC is the 30 percent drop in viewers aged between 18 and 34.

Perhaps because they're so busy playing on their phones. Everything and anything else going on around them is of little or no concern to them since they are so engrossed in their games.

Posted in: Osaka cuts sister city ties with San Francisco over 'comfort women' statue See in context

Unfortunately this is a part of our (human) history and not one to be proud of. Japan should learn to understand that it was / is a sad point in its past but to take comfort (no pun intended) in the fact that ever since after the war had ended it has proven itself to be a 'model' nation of peace and humanity.

There are so many other countries which are guilty of committing these same heinous crimes but I will not be naming them. Osaka should NOT be breaking any ties over something like this. Absolutely not. The people of San Francisco are not stupid , they will not dislike Japan or Japanese for what has happened in the past because they can see what Japan and Japanese are, now, in this present day and age.

Oh, come on people.

Yes, they are breaking the law of Japan. But, to just put everyone into one category no matter the individual circumstance is not right either. How about basic human 'law'. Treat others as you want to be treated. I know, it isn't a law per se but you get what I mean.

I'd like to make an observation based on reading AKIE's and PETER14's discussion.

Akie, your strong, unrelenting and defiant defense of China 'anything' makes one feel you are either working for them..?, or working with them in some official/unofficial capacity.?, or just simply someone who has been thoroughly indoctrinated by communist China's well-oiled and heavy-handed propaganda machine..

Either way, very one-sided and unbalanced.
