Posted in: Exercising three times a week significantly cuts depression risk See in context

A 16% reduction is pretty small. I bet in most cases, a pair of loving arms around you the same number of times a week, would give much better results. Not finding those arms is the cause of depression.

Posted in: Solitary seniors who seek soul mates descend into stalking See in context

I am 82 and getting tired of all the young women stalking me while I take my daily walk in the park. I must admit that they are subtle about it, by looking away and pretending no interest in me. The old women are worse because they actually cross to the other side of the street when they see me. They are tempting me.

Imagine how happy these parents were at the birth of their first born son all those years ago. How much proof do we need that our life on Earth is the payment of our debt we created somewhere else, who knows where or when.

This is happening all over the world. They talk about sea level rise, but never mention drowning from rainstorms. It is something new.....flooding from above. Maybe the thing to plant on hillsides is vines, so as to form a screen like barrier. The weight of trees cancels out the benefits of roots, which are surprisingly short on large trees.

Look at yourself;a life long slave to Govt. and big business. Is this what you would want for some poor soul you bring into this prison? A life of hard work and aggravation is waiting. If you are married, just love each other for your lifetime. That is the greatest satisfaction that life offers. The only thing that will make people more valuable is to have fewer of them.

Let us see if this gets a lot of press or t.v. coverage. If this hits the market it will really surprise me. Something like this could replace vain, corrupt, greedy humans and make politicians and judges obsolete. This would displace the corrupt systems that run the world now......making it a giant no no.

Posted in: Google, Detroit diverge on road map for self-driving cars See in context

The main trouble is that Google wants to give customers all good things all at once. The auto industry wants to delay all improvements as long as possible, overcharge as much as possible and basically try to keep total control of the industry. Just think of all the replacement parts not needed with auto braking that will mean no more "accidents", which are really collisions. Auto industry wants to sell you a new design model every year....the Auto industry will do everything they can to discredit auto driving cars. They want those multi-billion dollar profits yearly with new models, better radios, coffee holders, etc. All the usual garbage that does nothing to make you safe while driving....and because of yearly new models they build in many flaws which result in countless recalls and needless loss of lives.

So much for the "Free Enterprise System".I agree with Todd....come on big timers; compete. Isn't the way to business success to find what they want, and then make it at a fair price?

It is so simple. All business is only interested in maximum profits. I wonder how many old, healthy people were big soda pop fans? The big problem with wrong eating is the fact that you do not necessarily feel bad doing it....but it is still bad for you as eating right is best for you even if you do not feel better. It is like using good motor oil instead of a synthetic. There will be no performance difference in the car. The more it goes past fifty thousand miles, the more the synthetic shows it's superiority.

When computers do the diagnosis and suggest treatment, medical care will be really improved. A computer would have data from thousands of cases and hundreds of years of experience and instantly diagnose the possibility of very rare illnesses including poisonings.

Posted in: Fair pay sought for fast food workers See in context

It is a very simple formula; billionaires and millionaires want everything, while giving as close to nothing, as possible. If you are being hired, it is because you, or someone like you, is needed to increase the wealth of owners of that business. If it were true that increased wages ruined businesses, then everyone would be working for the wages of hundreds of years ago...or else there would be no businesses developed from that time on. Remember the lie that good wages for workers kills business. Big business people are evil and greedy beyond reason. They seem to not understand simple mathematics, where the more money the public has, the more purchasing they can do....until Business raises their prices on recognizing that fact. People should refuse to work for low wages and especially not buy over priced goods. Almost all goods are overpriced. Average people need more restraint in their buying habits...the billionaires get rich on the masses....not from the rich.

More crystal clear evidence of underpaying workers and overcharging customers.....that is where profits come from; the people. Giant Corporations that make billions should not be allowed a profit margin of more than 10% which is plenty for shamefully rich parasites. We are all on this space ball of dirt together and should all share in as good a life as we can make possible. The poor have made the life of the rich as good as possible; it is now time for the wealthy to show their appreciation.

Stardom is a status attained when the public loves the personality of the actor over the role or story of the movie. My dad used to say "there is a Gable picture out, want to see it"? to Mom. This is so true, that some actors made a career by playing the same type over and over. John Wayne, for example. We are all the stars of our own lives with our spouse as co-stars, children and friends as supporting cast, and all others as extras........but all those extras are stars in their own lives and we are extras to them. The difference is no one pays to see us and our stories are real.

The main problem with all unusual weather is the fact that Govts. and Business, and some people, want to ignore the conditions and pretend they are dealing with a sunny, balmy day in Spring. If trucking were replaced by dirigibles and trucks were only used for local deliveries, it would be a smoother running world with roads lasting longer in good shape.

Scandinavian country historic records revealed something very interesting in regard to longevity. Children born in times of food scarcity (not famine) had longer, healthier lives than babies born to mothers in times of plenty. To me, the take away from that info is pregnant woman should eat a low calorie, high nutrient diet while pregnant, as this indicates it creates a healthier baby. Your info to investigate yourselves, parents to be.

The fact that we have a world run by the powerful who only think of acquiring more profits, when they do not need any, is the major road block to an advancement of our society. Therefore, big business and the evil greed that drives it, is one of the horrors of the structure of our societies on Earth. It never wears out? It lasts how long? We cannot make tons of money on it? We cannot let them have this.....we are driven by insane greed, we are the businesses that control everything you need for modern life..
