"How about penalties for companies that abuse their foreign interns?"

From the article:

"The Immigration Services Agency said even if only a few interns go missing, employers who are found to have engaged in illegal activities such as non-payment of wages will be banned from accepting new interns."

Ok, but what about the countries that send illegal aliens? Should not people from Vietnam and China etc be banned from entering Japan because they commit crimes and they overstay their visas?

In March, the Justice Ministry said around 15 percent of 5,218 foreign trainees who went missing from work had been unjustly treated by employers, including non-payment and overtime work.

So 15% split because of the bad treatment. What about the other 85%?

The vast majority of the foreigner interns who are breaking their contracts have no legitimate reasons to break their contracts. In other words, they are criminals and should be treated as such.

A total waste of time, but I nice photo op. If the South Korean government sells the assets they seized from Mitsubishi, it will not make any difference. Winter is coming for the Japan - South Korea relationship let it be a long and cold winter.

But the government is paying for it.

So, Narita might actually finally have 3 runways, 50+ years after it was supposed to!!

Because Japan respected the people's wishes and held off building the 3rd runway. That's way.

Because under international law the flag determines the nationality of the vessel and because the Chinese, at the UN, block closing the loop hole. That's why.

By that is it too  diffivult (sic) for you to use a spell checker?

I'm baffled about is, they averaged almost 100,000 yen per heist and the store managers didn't notice that during the days' closing account. Assuming they did, but did not bother to check their surveillance cameras. What's more, 247 stores in roughly 3 yrs. and 9 mos., that's once every 6 days targeting drugstores to steal.

Most stores don't close their accounts, they way you are thinking. For example, if the Vietnamese stole a bottle of vitamins, the store manager would not catch it, because he does not do sales count at the end of the day. Most chain drug store have computer systems to calculate sales and to control inventory and most systems have margin built into them, so it hard to catch small losses. However, once the margin is exceed than the system sends an alert to the store, which how the Vietnamese got caught.
