If this travel could put the Japanese government and its taxpayers in a dangerous ransom and political situation, yes the government had the right to prevent its citizen from doing so.

Journslist or not the government can use the above and slso justify its actions by brlieving that corizen would be deliberately putting himself in danger and compromising its fellow citizens if caught by the extremists which issued a statement that they eould indeed target japanese in the area.

As long as they catch the criminal that did it and not force a confession from someone they merely decide to suspect. Police here have a 99% conviction rate and a lot of innocent people are quite possibly behind bars because of these tactics to pin it on someone quickly as opposed to proper cateful detective work. Let's wait and see.

local newspapers censor out talk of crimes, it doesnt mean they do not happen. Japan is not even in the too 10 safe countries list so lets be balanced, crimes occur and children need watching over. The police are reactive they canot predict everything that will happen.

what most likely occurred is that subsequent jumpers accidently jumped on top of him, its hapoened before... maybe concussing or rendering him unable to breathe. 60 jumpers in a narrow space... not good!

Posted in: Work still hasn't begun to demolish Tokyo's old Olympic stadium See in context

This is not a big issue, the construction companies bidding for work are privately owned, there are more than enough to complete the work on time. The construction for the tohoku region is publicly governed thereby so called skilled workers for that project were never in line to build the olympic stadium, its a seperate issue. Bid rigging and bribery is common because most construction firms here are connected to organised crime syndicates. Naturally they compete heavily against one another and are most likely prepared to call in favours and or pay officials under the table. Nothing new here. The main thing is to build the stadium and build it well.

that's correct the police only intervened after violence was directed at them, unfortunayely they do not take the same approach against right wingers, although it has to be said right wingers avoid violence against police and direct it against civilisns, of which the police respond all too lightly. extreme left wingers though are increasingly turning up the violence... this is not good. Free speech is something right wingers are allowed to employ more freely than other groups also, which compounds the issue.
