Sedentary lifestyle and stress are causing way more deaths than sugary drinks. Anyway it's better to eat honey, it contains a lot of sugar, but doesn't cause any deaths, because it's natural.

Before going to bed of course. I could not imagine not doing it, I would not be able to sleep. It's not only the dirt and sweat, but also the negative energy that you get during the day, water is cleaning everything. I was surprised that some some people do it in the morning instead of evening. Morning shower is not so important unless you sleep in a very hot room and sweat a lot.

In US - not sure if that is still necessary now. But I'm not American, so I cannot decide anyway. I think it was necessary in the past, in the Wild West for example. In modern Ukraine - yes, right to possess guns is urgently needed now because people should be able to defend themselves against terrorists in the rebel-controlled areas where police is nearly useless.

Posted in: Why libertarianism is closer to Stalinism than you think See in context
Stalinism can be compared only with Fascism. Libertarianism is ideology of freedom, Stalinism is a despotism in its pure form that has no relation to the freedom, liberty and completely rejects them. There is a huge difference. Stalin has murdered millions or Ukrainians, Byelorussians, Kazakhs, Russians in order to suppress any independent way of thinking. Libertarianism is quite close to anarchy, where freedom and individuality are valued high.

Good! Kimigayo should become more popular and people should sing it on a public events more often. Patriotism is important, and respect of national symbols is essential part of it. Posted in: The fuzzy logic behind Japanese attachment to kanji See in context
In the future almost nobody will write by hand, this is what we already see among the younger generations of Japanese. In the near future we will keep using kanji for writing most of words, but with mandatory furigana for more and more kanji, so it will finally come to the point when all kanji will have furigana, and this will become a norm. This is my understanding of the latest tendencies in Japanese language and society. Kanji = for better understanding and avoidance of confusion + Furigana = for phonetical reading. So no problems at all, the humanity is changing, the languages are also changing. The government cannot decide in which direction the language will go, it only depends on people of Japan, how they are using Japanese language now.

Thank you, USA, for protecting my home country from Putin, we - Ukrainians, living in Japan, appreciate this very much. Russian government is a Nazi government, that is happy to kill other nationalities "to protect ethnic Russians" in their countries and restore the Great Russian Empire. Putin is the new Hitler. World should say NO to Putin's dictatorship in Europe.

Please give a hand to Ukraine. Ukraine's army is too weak to withstand the Russian aggressors for a long time. Putin's government is fascist and they will not stop on Ukraine. After Ukraine's occupation Russia will try to advance further to the West: Poland Czech Republic, Romania. Europe should not make the same mistake as before the WW2 when they allowed Hitler to occupy Poland (Molotov-Ribbentrop pact). And then... you know what happened during 1941-1945. Stop Putin until it's too late.

Nathaw, any negotiations of Japan with Putin will be always in vein. Current Russian government only understands the language of force. Russian government is the highly corrupted government of fascists that is terrorizing its own people and putting into jail all people who think differently. At the same time, Putin is already losing support of people in his own country. Putin is a bloody dictator. Abe should act in much more decisive manner dealing with Russians, this is the ONLY way to deal with Putin.

harvey pekar, now the situation is quite different and it is not Middle East, Ukraine is Europe. Putin is a new Hitler and Europe's safety is under threat now. It's in the interests of Europe (mainly UK and France as the major military powers) to give a hand to Ukraine, because Putin will not stop on Ukraine, sooner or later he will try to expand further to the West to create his "buffer zone". Europe should not make the same mistake as before the WW2 when we allowed Hitler to occupy Poland (Molotov-Ribbentrop pact). And then... you know what happened during 1941-1945. Stop the Russian aggression to Ukraine now!!!! The next target for Russian fascists after Ukraine can be Poland, Czech Republic or Romania. But Ukraine has a very small and weak army now and cannot withstand the Russian attack for a long time. EU, NATO, please protect my home country from Russian fascist aggressors.

I suppose Chernobyl is attracting tourists mostly because of the dead city Pripyat, not because of the reactor #4 itself. The same in Japan - probably people would visit some abandoned villages within the no-go area, it could be interesting after 25 years.

This is very good news, I'm happy that Japanese businesses are finally investing money in the future. Though 243 MW is still so little... For example a single Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine generates 6000 MW (it has 6 reactors, 1000 MW each). I hope the number and especially capacity of renewable projects will grow in the forthcoming years.

Can you name a cheaper one? I think people go there because it is so damn cheap. Much cheaper to grab a meal there than to head to a conbini. I personally haven't been in years but I get why some people go. tmarie, I mean Sukiya, Yoshinoya, MosBurger. I agree that food in combini is quite expensive, but it is really cheaper to eat in Japanese fast food chains. Several weeks ago I used to eat misoshiru + gyudon + cabbage salad at Sukiya just for 320 yen for everything. And this is very healthy food. MacDonalds is nothing but a lot of FAT that is just ruining your stomach if you eat there more than a week.

I don't understand why people like McDonald's so much. It's really overpriced for a junk food, this is the last place where I would go if I need to buy some burger. In Japan there are native fast food networks which are much better and cheaper.
