If he passes away, it will be a disaster for Brazilians.....

He is one of the last few good icons that the Brazilian people still have.....

I had the privilege to see him playing and I once had an autograph of him that his daughter managed to ask him on my behalf !

His personal integrity and good example for the children can be well described in the following incident: a long time ago, in the '80's if I recall correctly, one big smoking company of Brazil wanted to hire him to make ads for their cigarettes. They offered him a very nice sum of money. He decline and explained himself that he was a sportsman and he would never sell to the public harmful products and especially, because he didn't want the children to start on this bad behavior.....

I have two personal memories from Pele :

a) Once we met in one year end dinner and we asked his daughter for his autograph. They both were very nice and promptly did for me !

b) I saw him, on TV, playing in Brazil.... It was beautiful to see someone that talented playing.... It makes you wish you had the same talent....
