RIP! I hope that Japanese tourists understand that all places are not as safe as Japan. I recommend tourists to stay in group of close friends, dress soberly and not get drunk.

Posted in: Violence soars in Gaza as world pleads for truce See in context

Wow !!! I am really amazed whenever I read comments related to an article about Palestine conflict. Though many of the readers are aware of the exact situation some are so biased towards Israel that I laugh when they try to take side with Israel. For those readers please look at the changing map of the Palestine in last 50 years. How can anyone turn a blind eye to the way Israel have pushed the local Palestinian population in small pockets and occupied their country. Its Palestinians who are defending themselves and Israel is the occupier.

I really feel pity for someone who is blind, deaf, biased or ignorant enough to not understand this simple fact.

Highly recommended. First think we should worry about is child's safety, not what other people says about it. I hope people who have kids agree with me.

Posted in: Demand grows for halal food as industry evolves See in context

I hope Japan will improve the labeling on their food products to make it more convenient for vegetarians, Muslims, Jews etc. Most of the meat imported from Brazil, USA, Australia, New Zealand is halal anyways. The problem is that local supermarkets take them out of the original packaging to put them in small plastic trays but don't put halal label on it.

Posted in: Tech tie-up to launch phone system rival to iOS, Android See in context

@gogogo Yes android is open source. But I think there must be many limitations in android's license that might stop you from making changes in the core parts of the OS for commercial use.

A wonderful move by Prime Minister Abe. I hope we will be able to buy cheaper imported rice in 2018.

Posted in: NEC to pull out of smartphone production See in context

The only option is to leave domestic market and think globally. But that seems kind of hard for Japanese smart phone makers. No one cares if a smartphone is available in 24 different colors. Its the price and functionality that matters.

Why doesn't the media use the term "Terrorist" for this guy. He is a Killer, Gunman, Madman but why not Terrorist. Is "Terrorist" term reserved for Muslims only.
