You can't listen to music while riding a bike? That's boring, while not allow people walking on the sidewalks to listen to it either.

Why does it seem like every new article that comes out about this the decision is always the opposite of what was said before.

Posted in: University of Tokyo considering autumn start to academic year See in context

If Tokyo University is considering autumn start, why not make all schools (elementary, junior-high and high-schools) in Japan start the academic year in the fall.

Because that would make too much sense

Posted in: Examinations begin across Japan See in context

The American system is not similar. For us we have to take a test called the ACT or SAT depending where you live and you take that you take your junior year of highschool. With that score plus your GPA during all 4 years of highschool you can apply to any college or university but the schools only accept people who meet their requirements.

I loved MASH even though I've been told I'm too young to know the show. Thanks to my dad I've seen every episode and I love the show. One of my favorite episodes is 5'Oclock Charlie.

I'm surprised the US government isn't trying to get a harsher punishment. If a US citizen did that they'd be fired and jailed.

I'm not 100% sure but from what I've read it seems like trading currencies helps keep debt down and stabilize the fluctuations between exchange rates.

Only ¥5,000? If your going to rob a place do it at a place with a bit more money. Also this is creative, I have never seen a robbery with a firework before.

I don't let them have the chance to talk to me. Right when the plane is high enough to start using electronc devices my headphones are in my ears and I am reading a book while listening to music.

The only good thing Apple has made has been the iPod and even that is lacking in many areas. I am not a fan of the company but I do love my 2nd gen iTouch. In my opinion they stopped "delevering" long ago.

I don't give him long either. If my Japanese history is correct, then the past shows us that under imperial control Japan flourished and was at peace for hundreds of years. But now, America has introduced democracy and Japan has had 15 PM in 16 years (according to Disillusioned). Unless you get out of the control of the much older party members telling you what to do, Japan will not get better.

Why are all politicians the same? What Japan needs is a PM that can lead for more than a year. I thought that American politics were screwed up. This just seems like it's being ran as it plays out.

While Japan does not make many big international movies like America does. The few Japanese movies that I have seen have been great even though the quality of the film was not as good as hollywood. I do not really care about the quality (to a point, if it is really bad I won't watch it) and mostly focus on the plot of the movie. It is the story line of the movie that makes it interesting, not the quality of the filming.

Posted in: Should dog owners be prosecuted if their animal attacks someone? See in context

The owner should know if the dog bites or not and if it does they should acomidate it so that it can not bite anyone. It should also have been trained not to bite and it is the onwers fault for not teaching this to the dog. The dog can not help it, its in its instincts to bite things and if it was not taught to not do it then you can not blame it. It is the owners fault for not correctly, or at all, teaching the dog.
