Posted in: 49-year-old man dresses as woman, enters female public bath area See in context

The name escapes me, but there used to be a Japanese comedy about a family run public bath and it always started with some guy trying to sneak into the women's side of the bath and having naked women scream and throw water at the guy and him being dragged out by the woman running the bath. Funny story. Glad no one was hurt or anything.

elbudamexicano,

The USA being involved in a no-fly zone would mean the USA was indeed involved. I think they and the rest of the world should stay out of this one and let the Libyans figure their futures out for themselves. The USA getting involved again in another country's fight just means people whining about the USA later. If the UK and France want to stick their noses in, I say let them go for it. The US should sit this one out. Nothing good will come of them getting into this.

The Dieudonne case is another example of how hate speech was punished in France just as Galliano's is being punished. All hate speech crimes are prosecuted in France. Galliano's will be, Dieudonne's were many times and Bardot's was. There is no lack of balance for fairness in these examples. There is only a lack of decency and common sense on the parts of the hate speakers. It does not matter that you seem to agree with Dieudonne's hate speech, it was hate speech all the same and it was prosecuted. Don't like it? Tough luck.

Yeah, what I find very interesting and its what I have been basically saying since the first Galliano news story here is that fact that France makes a big deal about all types of hate speech. In fact, I proved to you that they do. What is it about this type of hate speech being punished like any other that bothers you so?

If it wasn't considered important news, don't you think they would have chosen other news instead of this.

No, not necessarily. This is a site devouted to news of interest. Perhaps the editors felt the story about Galliano was interesting enough to follow. You and I obviously agree with them as we have both been following it too. Strange to complain about others being interested in something you yourself have shown an obvious interest in.

It is not a major story nor is it considered by anyone to be such important world news. However, nothing wrong with AP mentioning it. They are not the only ones. I am sure you agree that such racism should not be tolerated.

sabiwabi,

You neglected to mention that your quote is in the comparatively tiny conspiracy section of the article.

I agree with Zenny11. Outside countries should stay out of this. Nothing good will come from getting involved and something bad definitely could. Leave this to the Libyan people to work out.

Gadhafi is the one who brought in the foreigners to kill his own citizens.

Do you realize that if RFK had not been shot, AIPAC would not be as powerful today and things would probably be much different in the US and the rest of the world.

Blame Sirhan Sirhan. He killed him.

I don't think this flamboyant homosexual has thoroughly thought through his viewpoint on Hitler.

It is rather ironic this guy was videotaped professing his love for a man that would have had him wearing a pink triangle and sent off to be gassed.

It’s been this way almost from the beginning.

Nope. In the beginning, he admitted to doing it. In fact, he wanted to plead guilty and be executed for his crimes. He is and was guilty. There were plenty of witnesses right there when it happened.

Its a shame this patsy has to waste his life away in jail while the real killers run free.

Not a patsy, a murderer.

He did it and he should not go free.

In fact, he said, Sirhan is a Christian and had no ties to terrorist groups.

You don't need to have ties to a terrorist group to be a terrorist. However, I think the term murderer is sufficient.

Posted in: Dior suspends Galliano for alleged anti-Semitism See in context

Also, if you Google "Dior suspends Galliano for alleged anti-Semitism" you'll see how wide-spread this story is.

So? He is a famous person accused of doing something outrageous. What bothers you so much about the fact this story is 'widespread'. Why is it so hard for you to understand people can be offended by anti-Semitic and racist statements? Why do you seem to be suggesting it is wrong to mention when someone is accused of saying something anti-Semitic. Why does this make you have the need to miss represent French laws on racism to make it absolutely incorrectly seem as though only Jews are protected under the law in Franc?

I checked out some of the background on the story. Evidently, the couple in the article thought Galliano was a homeless person bothering them. That might have been what ticked Galliano off. Still, if the story is true, he is a racist pure and simple.
