@bungle

she is the mayor of Tokyo, what do you expect her to do? She legitimately does not have the authority to put the city into lockdown. At least she is actually showing up and pleading with the public as strongly as she legally can.

Probably due to wage gap they focused on women

How about giving free karate lessons to every woman over 12 years old?

It happens to children under 12 and not just females...

The least these rail companies can do is install cameras... Like they have been saying for over a decade. With all the tourist money flowing in, you'd think that they could use some of that on camera installation.

He was beaten about the head by a blunt object and covered by the blanket. How is it a suicide?

This is near my house. Seems like he mightve owed some money and didn't pay up.

Hmm, I live in Nishinari and my part of the 'hood' isn't so bad. It's just run down and needs new blood to take over the unused stores in my local shotengai. However, Hanazonocho near the Nishinari Police Station is pretty rough. Dozens of police and constant fights. Shinimamiya has got a lot of homeless folk but I don't think they're a threat.

@vince black

10000% don't have unemployment insurance because all transport companies here in Japan are black af. Just yesterday my partner's company told him to drive two different 10ton dump trucks from south osaka to kyoto then kobe, but still cut his commission by 30% because he doesn't own one of the trucks. Oh, and he had to fill both trucks several times and then drop it off in time or else lower pay out. All within 10 or so hours. This guy has no excuse for running the light, but the pressure on truck drivers in this country is insane and the government needs to step in.

Tosas are usually have very good temperament towards humans and only attack if they feel uneasy or intruders. Perhaps they neighbour didnt know the dogs well enough and he got mad at them. Who knows?

@proxy

Mmmm not only that? Some people have naturally muscular, stocky, tall or short bodies, maybe their hips are wider or arms are larger... The point of the demand is that most women do not have the same body as these models, who represent such a small percentage of women in the world. I want to see what some clothes look like on a woman like me, not on a woman who is 6ft and 49kg. Thank u, next.

Another idea could be what they do in Australia for working holidays. You're free to stay for a year, and you have the option to extend as long as you do 2(3?) months of farm work.

That is such a reach for something negative when it doesn't have to be (and most likely isn't). They're obviously happy that the trains are finally running again. Lighten up.

I agree with you, I thought it was nice to see the workers greeting the first passengers across the bridge.

@nakanoguy01

You're absolutely right. To the Anangu people, Uluru and it's neighbour Kata Tjuta is very sacred. They can claim it as they are the original owners of the land. You can't just half-half something as sacred as Uluru.

If you wanna climb it, you have until October next year.

This has happened before. There was even a re-enactment segment and interviews of the passengers on a tv show not too long ago. The way the bus is set up is that there is no clear view of the driver and they could have been cruising for kms before the bus started to veer off.

HarukaApr. 2  05:25 pm JST

There is absolutely no reason to raise beer and food prices. Yesterday on JP news they said the cost of trucking has gone up due to wage increases. None of the truckers I know got raises.

Can vouch for this. Less drivers, more demand, but my partner hasnt had a raise

Posted in: Dump truck crashes on Tokyo expressway, killing driver See in context

My partner is a truck driver and does crazy hours like previous posters have mentioned. They can scarily fall asleep for a second without even noticing it. However I have gone on his trips many times and a lot of the time it’s not the truck driver at fault, but standard drivers here in Japan who merge without looking, no indicator, using their phone/tv and not paying attention or are too slow when entering the expressway which is at times, more dangerous than Speeding. Looking that this accident happened at 3:45am, truck drivers usually -start- at this time to avoid traffic and drop the cargo on time. So who knows what happened to cause this accident...
