I`m no economist but to increase sales taxes and give big business large corporate tax cuts hoping they will pass savings on to everyday workers was probably never going to work. Oh yeah and forgot about the increasing inflation too, good one.

@smith not a stretch but FYI the Matildas made it to the quarter-finals in the previous two World Cups where they were defeated by Sweden 3-1 in 2011, and Brazil 3-2 in 2007. I would not call it their deepest run but more a deep run that they have achieved twice before.

These days I don't feel safe closing my eyes on the train for this exact reason. Soon we will see the excuse that someone wanted to know what its like to kill a gaijin.

Here's an idea, how about Japan says no on the deal and Jordan kills their prisoner. An eye for an eye, perhaps next time they will think twice on hostage negotiation trades.

A long time ago I went in to get an iced caramel drink or whatever they call them without looking at the price and when the young lady said it was going to be about $6 I almost walked out, but alas I paid and have never been back since.

Very strange. There were various reports that came out on Fox was that the video was or seems to have been edited, if that is the case, what does that mean and why would these guys do it?

Lol, you use Fox as your news source?

Posted in: UAE eliminates Japan from Asian Cup in penalty shootout; Iraq beats Iran See in context

Towards the end of the game they showed that Japan had 21 shots at goal and UAE just 3 yet UAE was winning 1-0. If you didn't know the scoreline you would have thought it was 4-0 Japan. Sorry but Japan deserved to lose that one. They have been desperate for a good striker for so long now that they could have nurtured one from birth. Not sure why Kagawa is still there, the guy couldn't score in a brothel.

It was a strange interview, she went on a tangent about nuclear energy in Japan and the future of Japan's children? Also how did she not know her son had a newborn baby?

This has been going on for over a decade and the police still turn a blind eye. They must be making a killing. With the Olypmics coming up they better clean up the place or it will turn Japan into the not so "safety" country that the world thinks.

Joe Bigs' comment above is totally off the mark. He just doesn't know anything about Japanese Communist Party. He is badly mixing it up with other communist parties in countries like North Korea, China, or Russia. I hope Japanese Communist Party will at least double its present seats in the next election. Dear JoeBigs, please take a little time to study what Japanese Communist Party has been doing in this country in the past few decades and what the party actually stands for.

Hello Japanese Communist Party :)...... I mean Onishi-san.
