Was it really incompetent or mismanagement ?

Iam sceptical due to the large number of meals wasted.

To be intelligent enough to create artificial intelligence now that is something to think about !

Was it really a self driving autonomous shuttle bus or was it really operated by a human ?

I think the answer to that question is clear.

Posted in: Visually impaired Paralympian hit by self-driving bus See in context

I suggest they develop an autonomous shuttle that could not possibly hit a pedestrian when its in operation .

I feel empathy for the injured athlete but he should probably have bin holding his cane and the shuttle operator paying better attention ready to swiftly stop the vehicle in a area with so many disabled people.

And the vehicle itself should automatically stop before it could injurd someone.

The whole situation doesn't sound very intelligent.

Japanese people need to rise up and make you're voice heard and force the government to start acting like a DEMOCRACY during election and always.

Why are we being forced to have to pay for health insurance but can't receive adequate health care during a health crisis emergency of a covid pandemic.

USA was never a great nation in its meager less than 300 yrs of existence.

The USA dream is an attempt at being the first international nation with freedom and liberties for all people of the world and all religions.

USA is an idea and is ever evolving and granted to have its full share of difficulties as a young nation.

I respect USA quest to become a great nation and world leader is a noble idea but needing to own a gun to feel safe or needing drugs is not a good situation.

However the current civilization in USA is not as civil and free and great as it may appear.

Whatever methods work for curbing drug addictions shouldn't be ridiculed .

Posted in: What ticks off drivers in Japan? New survey reveals top 3 causes of road rage See in context

Cleo thankyou for help me more clearly grasp the Japanese use of blue or green even tho traffic lights are not from Japan and neither are the automobile.

If its green we say green its that simple and there's no confusion.

Midori is green.

Traffic lights are green .

It means i refuse to call something blue that actually green.

Obviously i know Japanese call it blue otherwise i wouldn't have comment it.

Please don't expect foreigners to adopt or need to grasp the concepts of so called Japanese culture and educational system because we're not impressed with it and we created the technology of electricity and the combustion engine anyway.

There's alot of messed up stuff in Japan like looking at a 12 hour clock and reading it as a 24hr clock.

Posted in: What ticks off drivers in Japan? New survey reveals top 3 causes of road rage See in context

It doesn't help that school children are taught that traffic lights are blue not green.

Bunch of short Japanese made cars with tiny wheels try to be efficient and driving with their bright lights on blinding each other as they pass by . I my experience in driving in Japan the driver's here are terrible and the concept of flow of traffic is not understood.

Road rage is a mental condition that should be addressed more appropriately with strict penalties and licenses withheld from perpetrators.

A hit and run accident and fleeing the seen that would be a more convincing abandoning.

This article has got to be a perfect example of how Japan's medical system and government response to the pandemic situation is truly pathetic and appears to be falling apart.

received reports that some portion of the unused doses found to contain foreign materials, but they they have yet to see any reports of safety concerns.

suspending the use of around 1.63 million doses as a precaution.

promised to launch an investigation and requested an emergency probe while urging institutions not to use doses that show abnormalities and making efforts to prevent the suspension from affecting the availability of doses.

contamination reports were confirmed and the ministry will ask not to use them.

the problem came to light as infections are surging as Japan struggles to contain a spike in virus infections.

Posted in: Yakuza boss sentenced to death for ordering murder See in context

Why do Japanese think that foreigners dont know whats happening or happened in Japan is ridiculous.

Oh you're a foreigner so that means you obviously don't know anything .

As they wear their ball caps and tennis shoes and blue jeans and adopted foreign food , technologies and trying to lecture us on what foreigners don't know about Japanese culture.

Oh we know about Japanese culture !!

Go back to isolation for another 250 years and im sure that will help Japan's foreign policies and sexist and racist prejudice bigotry.

Without foreign influence and products Japan would be even worse off.

To be Japanese or hon/ nihonjin means to live in harmony.

To be predujice is not harmonious and therefore not Japanese.

One minute they want foreigners to be comfortable in Japan the next minute were treated with bigotry.

The government buys the marine products not fit for human consumption and probably makes fish fertilizer out of it for the agricultural industry or fishing bait or pet food.

Either way the people or their pets are in danger of contaminated marine products finding their way into the food source and DNA fragmentation or mutation.

Oh yeah... a very advanced system for dealing with contaminated waste.

Bunch o codswhallup.

Obviously Japan doesn't really care about the environment or it's people that much.

You can dilute seawater but you can't dilute tritium or cesium and not with water anyway..seems redundant as once the so called "contaminated waste" get released into the ocean the salt condenses it even more because it adheres to itself.

Or makes it way back into the food chain .

Why can't they deal with their waste in a more responsible manner??- because they are incapable of being responsible.!

Oh lets put a USA made reactor in volcanic active faultline area.

Just begging for some monsanto GMO Godzilla sashimi with cesium soy sauce.

But let's all pretend what a advanced society Japan is by doing our best-ganbarimasu.

If Japan could stop burning all its waste into the air and dumping into the ocean and start treating other Asian and foreigners and women and children with respect then maybe just maybe japan might have some friends in the world.

Contaminated waste ...well if they had any idea what they were doing there wouldn't be any waste let alone contaminated.

Its pathetic and incompetent as usual.

Posted in: Which is more popular in Japan: British English or American English? See in context

I'ts not really British English anymore anyway its United kingdom English or United states of America English.

Which is best to learn depends entirely on the individuals choice or availability.

There are some spelling differences between the various styles of English that may be problematic for some.

USA people may think that they simplified the English language but then they need to use too many words to describe something complex. Becoming less efficient.

Similar to putting smaller wheels on a car and calling it more efficient because its easier for short people but takes more repetitions to travel the distance.

Posted in: Which is more popular in Japan: British English or American English? See in context

There's No such thing as American English.

Perhaps the article is referring to USA version of the English language.

Japanese seem to be constantly unaware that America is a continent not a country.

USA version of English language is not as descriptive as British english and comparably lazy in its pronunciation.

Ive found that Japanese find it easier to understand British English but find it easier to speak USA English.

Depending on the regional dialects of course.

Conversational dialogue verses formal or informal or slang and the situational requirements for using the language can be easily misunderstood .

For Japanese to initially learn British English and then the other versions is best in my opinion.

I don't consider any form of pigeon English to be actual English language but rather a form of slang adopted to be made easier for the speaker.

After 5000 yrs as the oldest country in the world Japan still doesn't have its own national language whereas British English is a national language.

There's no mandatory second language in the USA whereas most European countries do have mandatory second.

Japan most certainly has its traditions but culturally most is introduced from Korea, China and European.
