Thankfully for the Russians, NATO provided advanced warning about the deployment so the Russians have plenty of time to move key assets out of range.

What ?

You make it sound as if Russia doesn't have its own surveillance.

NATO is helping to protect Russian assets ?

Have you lost your mind ?

They should have apprehended the balloon and dragged it off to a secure location and dismantled it for thorough inspection.

Typical the USA cant deal with situation without being prepared to shoot it down or explode it.

The whole thing is pathetic and ridiculous.

Just makes the USA look incompetent.

I think it’s something to do with Russia firing missiles, willy-nilly, into peoples homes and cars and schools and movie theaters and hospitals. They are savages

Ofcourse none of the Russian missiles being shot down by the Ukrainian defenses have caused damages or civilian deaths ? ? ?

Think about it -

Where do you think the missiles land after they've been shot down ?

You think the Russians are just firing missiles willy-nilly and not targeting important infrastructure ?

I don't think that's accurate.

Totally 100% BS survey because 94% of the entire Japanese population have not been part of the survey !

Why in a extremely "dangerous" panndemic are they asking children remove masks just for the graduation ceremony, anf then to remask up immediately after? If the masks really stop the spread, then this proves the absurdity of it all. Nothing to do with science. You've been sold a lie.

Why...well excuse me for pointing out to you what should be obvious - ' it's for the photograph of graduation'

Facepalm eyes rolling .

Extremely dangerous pandemic lmfao !

Posted in: Gov't considering mask-free school graduation ceremonies See in context

Masks have had their time and place and it’s time to move on. I believe they are not good for society, and they breed introverts. Especially here in Japan.

And who are you to be lecturing us and the Japanese people as what's good or not good for society ?

We don't need controlling arrogant teachers either and especially in Japan where the culture isn't like the west.

Traditionally Japanese prefer to be more reserved regardless of what the rest of the world does !

Furthermore there's plenty of other communicable airborn illnesses that mask wearing protects and especially from foreigners that dont have the hygiene standards commonly found here.

Its up to the individual whether they want to wear a mask or not.

Perhaps allowing people to decide for themselves what's best or preferred should be considered !

Posted in: Gov't considering mask-free school graduation ceremonies See in context

Mask wearing has been part of the Japan society since SARS.

No no no no !

Get your facts correct !

Mask wearing became an integrated part of Japanese society 100 years ago during the Spanish flu .

Posted in: Gov't considering mask-free school graduation ceremonies See in context

While Japan never had an official mandate requiring face masks to be worn

students will be allowed to attend their graduation ceremonies, typically held in March, without face masks,

And there you have it !

Authoritarian BS !

the students have been forced to wear masks .

Kind of ridiculous !

Airspace being invaded by a balloon supposedly from China and yet they don't shoot it down or capture it .

It's not impossible to intercept a balloon and drag it off to a secure location ! ?

It all sounds a bit fishy to me !

The big bad brave USA cant shoot down a balloon ?

Yeah right !!?

I don't believe it .

We need to build an economic block. Japan, China and SK.

Correction:

Japan, Taiwan and South Korea.

Taiwan was annexed by China but then ceded to Japan.

The US military had an outpost on senkaku during the occupation.

adding that Japanese public opinion on Beijing is "extremely severe," according to the Foreign Ministry.

Oh blah blah...honestly let's not even attempt to entertain the idea that the Japanese LDP government really gives a rats behind of what the Japanese public opinion is !

Preparing to go to war over Taiwan isn't what the Japanese public approved.

The defense of Japan yes.

It's just the excuse putin needs to formally declare war

It most certainly did.

Isn't it obvious that the amount of foreign visitors is pitifully low compared to what i could've been.

With the exchange rate the way it is many many more people would be visiting Japan if it wasn't for the aweful and ridiculous covid restrictions and requirements.

Visa , vaccinations , testing , tours etc etc etc !

I suppose they are referring to the maori Indigenous tribes that are really Pacific islanders that migrated to the area ?

Not the aboriginals who have been there for ever !

It just disgusting how colonial powers claim to have made astonishing development by stealing sovereign nations and building their infrastructure etc etc

I sincerely doubt the aboriginals would agree.

Furthermore don't forget about the nuclear testing that happened.

All at the demise of the local inhabitants.

Industrial revolutions and wars have done more harm that good.

I would call that highly developed.
