Posted in: How to help women F1 drivers? Put one in every team See in context

I heard - and it might be just a rumour - that when the Nadeshiko returned after their glorious winning of the World Cup, they had to sit in the economy class on board the plane and would have had to pay an upgrade out of their own pockets. The men, however, failed so badly and got a first-class treatment. That example says it all.

No matter if it's sports or business, women have to work harder, put more time and efforts into their work just to be regarded 'as good as men'. And when they finally work up their way to the top, some idiot will pull the 'so aren't you going to have a baby soon' card and whatever the answer might be, women will be judged.

Changes in sports need a basic change of society. Unfortunately, I dont see that happen on a scale large enough any time soon.

I hope the little girl heals quickly from the abuse - physically but even more so emotionally.

I just rolled my eyes so hard that I could see my brain.... Seriously, China? You also invented the sweat shops but you're not publicly claiming invention of those.

Posted in: Report says one pilot locked out of cockpit before Germanwings crash See in context

The name of the pilot is either Patrick Sondheimer or Sondenheimer... differs depending on the sources. One thing is sure though: he has the most tragic role in this cruel play as he was the only one who realized what was going on and could do absolutely nothing against it.

According to his colleagues he was a highly skilled, professional and experienced pilot. And father of two young children. RIP Patrick, it's your name that should be remembered, not the one of the sick damn bastard who crashed the plane.

It's not the black box but the voice recorder they found. And even though it was heavily damaged, French officials confirmed they could save the audio file.

I'm German, my hometown is only a ten-minute drive away from the town the group of 16 students and their teachers came from. The pain and grief at this place of only 37k inhabitants is unimaginable.

My thoughts are with the families and friends of all passengers and crew.
