Posted in: California approves vehicle pollution rules in rebuke to Trump See in context

The CARB standards in California have been in place for a very long time = Nothing political about it. Having said that California also runs some of the oldest cars on the road = cars last a very long time there. Their school buses are sometimes from the 1950's - 1960's -and yes they still run them (diesel = with probably some added sulfur for lubrication = diesel is mostly ULSD now and many of the older Diesel engines need that sulfur (or additive).

As a trend California is moving to electric cars rather quickly and solar power as said before.

As a funny note: You can run your polluter truck in California just fine, but over the border and back into California you may be refused entry. Had a big issue with this especially with the port (intermodal) truckers and California wanting to "clean-up" this fleet.

Well at least they found 1 point of common ground = Both had their phones "tapped" by Barrack Hussein Obama. Friends for life if you ask me.

Posted in: Trump wants to build 30-foot-high wall at Mexican border See in context

It seems good fences make good neighbors: Already Trump's Wall is working with border arrests down 44% = Trump's Wall will pay for itself, but why not bill Mexico and have them pay double?

Posted in: Trump chides media for being 'rude' after Conway interviews See in context

The main stream (Jurassic) media is not being honest about where the ObamaCare subsidies came from. Obama had to pillage money from GSEs (Government Sponsored Entities) to unconstitutionally get that money. At some point that theft had to end.

The suspect, identified in court records as Jonathan T. Tran, 26, of California, told the agency's officers that he was there to see the President.

-Just another junkfood eating CaliLib with a cry for help. Hopefully he can get the help he needs and get back to engineering.

Posted in: Fukushima mothers measure radiation levels in food, water and soil See in context

As stated in the article they publish their data online. People are making claims here with not even looking at their data. =That is highy unscientific and disingenuous.

I would like to make the claim that (non-pregnant) older people are much better suited around radiation than younger people (cells divide slower in older people).

Posted in: Border tax would be bad for Canada and U.S., says Trudeau See in context

Most people in Canada live close to the US border and many of them do their shopping in the US because it is cheaper. = You have far more goods going from the US ==> Canada. Still prescription drugs are cheaper in Canada/Mexico (drug tourism).

It is very hard to learn when your mind is in a state of fear/distress = Gov had to step in and do something for the education (and health) of these young students

Was sort of interesting that the old guard/jurassic media covered the WikiLeaks "Vault 7" CIA hacks, but sort of glossed over the Podesta/Weiner child sex trafficking emails and tried to turn it into "PizzaGate"

Posted in: Mitsubishi Motors applies Outlander's platform to new compact SUV See in context

This was a very smart move by Ghosn and a fine addition to the Outlander platform. Mitsubishi needed a new model with some excitement and Suvs are selling well. Outlander, Outlander Sport + Eclipse Cross.

Negative: This car has little to do with the old Eclipse or does it bring in the new to be Eclipse?

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto bring the outdated Mitsubishi Dash to the present. Updated transmissions should help with fuel economy.

Posted in: Pence used a private email account to conduct state business See in context

The most popular cellphone right now is the Nokia 3310. -and they sell a gold Putin edition. So it makes total sense to me that Pence is still using AOL. Why fix something that is not broke? Many Japanese still use Windows XP and those same people are probably galapagos phone holdouts.

Posted in: Trump's 'bromance' with Russia's Putin appears to be cooling See in context

You have two very strong leaders like Putin and Trump. Then there was the un-electable Hillary that could not even beat Bernie Sanders without the DNC and media corruption. The World has moved on while Hillary, DNC and the media continue to lose and double-down on their losses.

Posted in: Trump's 'bromance' with Russia's Putin appears to be cooling See in context

Putin has a net worth of maybe $40B-$200B. -and Trump is a bit below that. One of Putin's estates alone is worth $1B. I would assume they can work out things over a round of golf. =Worked for Abe it seemed.

Posted in: Pence used a private email account to conduct state business See in context

If someone wants to use AOL email that is their choice. Probably one of few options for Galapagos phone users. One could argue that a 56k dial-up AOL account is more secure than a direct internet account also.

Posted in: Nissan faces safety fine in Mississippi as union rally looms See in context

The late comer Mitsubishi opened factories in Illinois, welcomed UAW, then bankrupted. It returned later and quietly opened factory in Calf.

-When Mitsubishi Motors closed their factory in Normal, IL that was the end of USA manufacturing and assembly of Mitsubishi cars/trucks (OutLander Sport). =Mitsubishi Motors has no factory in the USA including the State of California.

GM UAW workers received up to $12,000 each for profit sharing paid 2017.

Manufacturing around Detroit is very good. It is the much smaller city of Detroit that has problems and the whole State of Michigan that is in debt due to poor decisions by politicians. The city of Flint is probably in the worst condition due to the water crisis and poor economic tone -and you have that overweight Lib Michael Moore turning his back to his city of Flint and instead attacking Donald Trump.

Posted in: Pence used a private email account to conduct state business See in context

Seems to be a "fake news" story. If Mike Pence wants to use a "jurassic" AOL email account for his personal Indiana State emails that is his choice. With all the GMail hacks maybe AOL is the better choice now. -and just maybe Mike Pence also uses a 56K modem to access his "dial-up" AOL email account.

Posted in: For Ivanka-brand goods, Nordstrom's loss is Japan's gain See in context

From the picture you can easily see these clothing items are not presented very well. To me it looks like an end-cap (end of isle) at TJ Maxx (clothing discounter). To market something like this to Women you need to go a few more steps up in presentation. = Japanese Women clothing stores can do a much better job at selling the Ivanka Trump brand at retail than Canadian retail clothing stores and hence sales in Japan of the Ivanka Trump brand are much higher.

Aside from retail, the online sales of this brand a very good. = Also a good indicator of poor retail (floor) placement and poor retail marketing of the Ivanka Trump brand.

Posted in: 'Fat taxes' could save billons in healthcare costs: study See in context

Saturated (and non-hydrogenated) animal fats are healthy especially from pasture fed/wild animals = they are the preferred fats and if heated they stay saturated. If fast food would just switch back to saturated fats instead of unsaturated (soybean, cottonseed, corn) fats people would be much healthier eating this poor grade of food. Unsaturated fats get even more unsaturated (oxidized) with heat and time (unsaturated fat used in a fryer for up to a week).
